We had a great time on this tour! We did the 930pm cemetery tour. Our leader, Christian, was very knowledgeable @ the history of NOLA & did a great job. We had a few struggles getting there but overall it was worth it! Allow me to explain. I couldn't find the confirmation email to verify the address we were meeting at so we ended up at the St. Peter address, which almost cost us our tickets. It turns out, the tour met on Rampart. We got a courtesy call from a nice lady & were told we could get rebooked because she didn't think we'd make it in time. That sounded like a challenge to me. I was willing to take it especially since I had just dropped $150 on these tickets! Ya know!? According to my daughter it was a 9 minute walk. We had 3. I've never ran so hard in adult life and was sure I was gonna face plant no less than half a dozen times. I sent my kids (14 & 23) ahead of me screaming what probably sounded like an odd goodbye to those in the streets around us. I think it was something like, "I'm not gonna make it kids! Mama can't do it anymore! Just go on without me!!" After running for what seemed eternity, we finally arrived at the tour bus. Ironically enough, we dressed for a comfortable evening inside an air conditioned bus, not a soaking-wet-with-sweat sprint to a ride around town. Lol So when we got on board, we were met with a much appreciated front row seat and ice cold AC! We were so grateful they waited for us and that we were able to enjoy our last night in the city doing something we've talked about doing for years. I had a strange encounter with something by the river at our first stop. I could've sworn my daughter was standing behind me and grabbed the waist of my jeans and flipped it over... But when I turned no one was there and she was 5 feet away. I'm not one to get spooked easily but I'm willing to bet my life someone WAS there. That's not why I give this tour a great rating though. I really enjoyed the time and effort put into the information provided on the tour, even if we did know a lot of it already. (We're from Pensacola & are frequent visitors) Definitely worth the money & we will recommend to our friends and family. No review would be complete without a few suggestions on how to make it even better. These were things we encountered that could save someone else the hassle. First tip: BRING CASH - the coffee shop we stopped off at, Morning Call, only accepts cash. Even though there are enough ATMs & we were first off the bus to get to the ATM, the line to order food was long (from another tour that showed up at same time). My kids stood in line for food while I went to the bathroom because there was no way I would've had time to do both. Second tip: DON'T COME DRUNK - you know once you break the seal you're done & the tour bus does not have a toilet. Because another tour showed up at same time at Morning Call, the women's bathroom line was also long. So me & a few other women decided to use the Men's room, which surprisingly was very clean! Had we not done that we would've never made it back on the bus in time. Also, you're walking around a graveyard at night. Duh. The pavement is uneven, it's dark, like really dark, and you need to be present in mind so you don't hurt yourself or someone else. Thankfully, our group was chill so we didn't experience this but we did have a couple people get off the bus at Morning Call because they said the tour wasn't "their speed" or something like that. Third tip: GET THERE EARLY - we thought we knew where we were going because Haunted History tours has a St. Peter address on their website. We even showed up early, because of the gay pride parade, and ended up walking down Bourbon to "kill time" only to have it turn into that marathon sprint up to Rampart. Overall, me and both of kids had a great time. We got to see some new parts of New Orleans I hadn't seen before and have a few more added to my list for our next trip. read more

On my latest trip, I booked the "Dead of Night - New Orleans Ghosts & Cemetery Nighttime Bus Tour" at 7:30 pm. Unfortunately, two-thirds of the guests were already highly inebriated when they boarded, making the experience far less enjoyable due to their rude and disruptive behavior. It was disappointing because the tour guide was fantastic, even in such challenging circumstances, and I could tell the tour had all the makings of something great. Thankfully, after the tour ended, Haunted History Tours accommodated my request to join the next tour at 9:30 pm, and I'm so grateful they did. Within the first ten minutes of the second tour, I knew I had made the right choice. Our guide, Drew, was nothing short of phenomenal. His deep knowledge of New Orleans' rich history, paired with his one-of-a-kind storytelling, elevated the entire experience. Drew's passion for the city was palpable; his dramatic flair and theater-quality presentation made each story come to life in a way that few could replicate. Additionally, our driver, Israel, was warm, welcoming, and highly professional, ensuring that the entire experience ran smoothly from start to finish. Despite the initial hiccup, Haunted History Tours delivered yet again. On my next visit, I will absolutely be hoping to tour with Drew once more--he is hands down the best guide I've had the pleasure of learning from. Also, a special shout-out to Scarlette at The Rampart Treehouse! Meeting her before and after the tour added an extra layer of enjoyment. Her vast knowledge of the city, combined with her sage advice and welcoming personality, was the perfect complement to the evening. Final Thoughts: Even with unexpected challenges, Haunted History Tours remains my go-to for an authentic and captivating New Orleans adventure. I didn't even have a yelp account but after our tour I signed up. This lady deserves to be reviewed. We went on the Ghosts and Graveyards Bus Tour and had Deanna as our guide. She was fabulous. Now let's talk about professionalism. She had to endure a group of about 8 drunks who were rude and obnoxious. Deanna was cool calm and collected and even made sure at the end of the night that each of us had been able to hear over them and told us if we had any questions or felt we missed anything not to hesitate to call and she would be happy to help. She gave us much more than a tour. We left with a sense of saving the world. I will tell everyone I meet about the Katrina Memorial from here on out. Someone on one of her tours will be the savior of one of those unidentified bodies family members. I just know it. Deanna is passionate about her city and her love of the history there. I would take any tour she gives and then take it again. On another note, how amazing to be on a graveyard tour and see human bones! I was not expecting that at all. It sounds morbid but it is a graveyard and ghosts tour. What better thing to see? I have taken tours for over 20 years and this was by far the best. The tour guide makes or breaks the tour and we certainly hit the jackpot last night! read more

My boyfriend and I took part in the French quarter ghosts & legends tour from 8 to 10 PM on May 15, 2021. Our tour guide, Brie, told us one story about Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, who was so overcome with depression when his gambling addiction caused him to lose his beloved home (now Muriel's Jackson square) that he committed suicide. Legend has it that he haunts Muriel's, and that the restaurant has designated a permanent table for him to reduce the amount of paranormal activity. During the tour last evening I snapped two pictures exactly at 8:32 PM. The second one shows a man standing next to the roped off table , but I do not recall seeing anyone there when I took the picture!! I've found other posts questioning the validity of the ghost histories told on this tour. Regardless of if you believe in the existence of paranormal activity or not, the tour was extremely entertaining and packed with New Orleans history dating back several hundred years. It was well worth the time and money. Brie has been doing the tour for six years and is clearly an expert in storytelling and has a superb memory for her town's intriguing facts. A must see while in NOLA! The tour made me a believer! I enjoyed the experience immensely. read more

Ghiost tours are one of my favorites and this one was a huge disappointment, We did the 5 in 1 tour which is described as having Ghosts, Vampires, Witches, Voodoo, & Unexplained Mysteries all together in one tour. First, we walked 20 minutes to our first stop and story. 20 minutes out of a 2 hour tour is way too long to get started. Our guide, Kyle, also walked very slowly during the tour so the time between stops was more than it needed to be. We also 'ran into' other groups from the same company at more than one stop- so that he had to shout to be heard and groups had to maneuver around each other. This is clearly a lack of training and organization on the part of the company. Our guide also was lacking in training. He spoke very rapidly so that he ended up mucking his words together. That, combined with a forced attempt to be 'spooky' in the delivery and a lack of volume in many spots combined to make him very hard to understand. Out of a 2 hour tour we heard 6 stories - that was it. There was a 20 minute bathroom break at a bar included in the tour. While a break is good when you add up all the other elements this was a tour that could have been easily completed in an hour. Save your money on this one. read more

I don't know what to say. It's been a month since we came and took the Dead of Night bus tour with Deanna as our guide. Monday I am purchasing a condo in New Orleans. I had been considering this for a few years but Deanna's tour solidified the deal. Not only during the tour but also at the bathroom break. We talked with her and with the bus driver, David, and they were both most helpful. It was the passion they both had for the city. As if the city was their child that they are both are proud of, have been disappointed in but most of all that they love more than anything. Their family picture would include the cityscape. I was completely hooked. Once we were back in Chicago, nothing felt the same and my partner and I knew it was time. Monday we close on a French Quarter condo where the building was built in 1801. During the tour I learned to adore the New Orleans Live Oak Trees, bayous, lagoons and I have a new found respect for those who have had to find creative ways to bury their loved ones. I always had disdain toward the homeless but now I am trying to find ways to advocate for them. Thank you Haunted History, Deanna and David.
