We were customers for 2 years+ since they are closest to our home. However, after our dog had to go to an emergency vet back in Feb, to find out he hurt his back. The timeline later made sense because it all happened after that appointment. And then the last time we had a grooming appointment, our dog was scared to go inside. The people said he was snippy at his last appointment too. No wonder! They hurt him and didn't even tell us back in Feb! We brought our 1 yr old mini-bernadoodle in for a desperately needed haircut! We brush her regularly but needed advice on how to groom her and what a doodle needs to help regulate her with the hot climate in the summer. VIP was recommended by our trainers who obviously work with many types of dogs. We were pleased with the attention as soon as we walked in the door. We were told that she would need a shorter cut to start with and then we can adjust to longer on the next visit. Gilda is black and she doesn't like to be warm. She always picks a shady spot outside and loves sleeping on the hardwood floors so we understood the short cut. When we picked her up we very nearly didn't recognize her! The price included nails, shampoo, and cut. Bonus on the bows and bandana. We were happy with all the people that we spoke with, very knowledgeable and professional, yet a loving caring environment. HIGHLY recommend VIP Grooming. I had to take my older cat (about 9) to get shaved as she'd gotten some matted fur that was too close to the skin for me to feel comfortable getting out on my own. The staff there is SO friendly - and efficient! I took her in and had a text that she was finished within about an hour. This is only her second time having to be groomed and she can be a bit of an anxious girl, and she came home happy and with a healthy shave ready to grow back in. I also had a golden retriever who I took there in 2020 for a cut and de-shedding, and they did an amazing job with her as well! read more

We took our cavapoo puppy here for her first grooming. It's super convenient to be able to make an appointment online. The staff made sure to take plenty of time discussing how I wanted them to cut her hair and even made a few small adjustments when I wanted her tail trimmed a little more when I picked her up. They said they keep notes of everything they do for your pet so they can either duplicate it or adjust the grooming for your next visit. This was my first experience getting my long haired cat groomed - and it was amazing! The staff were very kind and very knowledgeable about cats, which I appreciate since most places focus on dog grooming. They gave me some advice on how to help my cat deal with his anxiety and even gave me some free CBD treats for him to try! They also gave me a bag of catnip and a toy for him since it was my first time coming in. They did an amazing job of grooming him, and he obviously felt safe and comfortable the whole time since he was done in half an hour! I was shocked because he's usually very fussy when it comes to his stomach. Overall, I would highly recommend going here for pet grooming! I have used VIP grooming twice in the past for bath annd shedding treatment and had no complaints. I have to give a one-star review today because they would not brush out a couple very small hairmats on the hip of my long-haired cat who couldn't reach the area to groom. The groomer would only shave his entire body as an option. When I asked about just shaving the small (dime-sized) mats, he wouldn't "because it would look funny". What?? My indoor cat doesn't care what he looks like, I said. He refused to work with me, and when I offered this other suggestion he said " I will just give you your cat back" and he did. They are SOOOOO good to my little dog, Yoshi. Josh takes great care of the little guy, and he's not the most cooperative little Shih Tzu, especially when it comes to trimming anything near his feet, ears, eyes, and face in general. Oh, and he HATES the dryer, but Josh gets him washed and dried just the same! Despite all of that, Josh manages to get him right back in shape again, and does it quickly, as well. Jackie makes sure the shop is run with precision and style. She's always a cheerful smiling face to walk into and always remembers us. Yoshi likes Jackie so much he must say hello to her before he will go with Josh to the grooming area. He's not at all afraid to go in, he gets excited when we arrive, so they absolutely must be spoiling him while he's there; he can't WAIT to go inside. It's perfectly neat, clean, organized. They run on time, and do the grooming in a more than reasonable amount of time. They are technically connected, you can schedule online, they text me when Yoshi is ready to be picked up, since I usually can't answer my phone at the exact moment anyone calls with my meeting schedule at work. Easy to pay with your card and leave a tip. There are the most interesting little treats and products and even some toys to browse, which I enjoy quite a bit when I've got a minute. Our last notable purchase was a little piggy blanket that can heat, and has a little heartbeat apparatus so it's meant to be soothing to the pup. Yoshi enjoys playing fetch with the blanket as well, he's more cute that smart!! There are oodles of different levels of service, and/or add on treatments. But overall, they do a GREAT JOB, in a tidy and inviting location, make it as easy as possible, and my dog LOVES THEM, and loves going there!! It's worth the drive if it's not the closest to your home. I have a grooming salon within walking distance, and we forego that to get the caliber of service we prefer. Check it out!!! read more

Was not satisfied with service. While talking to service desk the groomer was feeling my dog and said the amount it would be & I agreed . Once it was time for pick up, price changed and charged me more for using a special shampoo for his fur which they never called to ask me about it and fur was nice and fluffy but didn't like how they decided to shave him without my consent. Usally others call before shaving or price changes. Just upsets me that price changed & now my dog is very fluffy but bald tail, bald from the tummy area and face. read more

I tried taking my German Shepard to get groomed before coming here and they were unable to finish and charged my more because she was so scared and they couldn't handle her. I usually take my Pomeranian here, Mr. Rogers, (which is the only place he come out wagging his tail instead of hiding it between his legs like he was just beat) and I told them about the other salon not being about to complete my Germans Shepard's grooming and they offered to try. I came to pick them both up a couple hours later and they were both so happy, tails wagging with adorable bandannas! They were both fully groomed and happy. I will never go anywhere else. read more

BEWARE!! THE MONIKER V.I.P. is Misleading. FIRST: there was a serious accident on Eastern Avenue that required a nearly two mile detour, following a fire truck to get out of a neighborhood and back to Eastern. Doors are locked at the business. I buzzed the intercom identifying myself and the owner said, You're late, your appointment was at 2:30! I immediately apologized and explained about the accident and the fact that I was in a neighbourhood I had never been in before and followed a fire truck around a maze of streets before I could get back to Eastern. The door was unlocked. NOW WE'RE INSIDE. This is the worst, absolutely worst grooming experience ever for our two dogs. 1. The male groomer, Josh? did not say one word to our male Yorkie. Didn't offer his hand for smelling, did NOT greet me or say one word. He was like a mute robot. The groomer had been told the male was neutered in February. The vip lady called my wife before I got home saying because of "liability" issues they wouldn't groom Finnegan. Why? The dog had one suture BUT...the man had started then stopped. 2. Pippa, 4yr old yorkiepoo was given a "Clydesdale" cut. For those on a where a Clydesdale is a large draft horse. And they have long hair around their hooves. Scarcely any hair had been cut from her legs or back and sides and she looks like she needs a hair cut. $90. $50 for Pippa and $40 to give Finnigan a bath. The "salon" owner has a real attitude that is unpleasant in my opinion. read more

I have to take my dog to get her haircut every 6 weeks. I'm so glad I found a trusted groomer who takes care of my little one.

I am the proud owner of Emma, a very sassy and potentially bipolar cat who also has a weight problem. As such, she isn't able to properly clean her nether regions (or chooses not to) and it gets a little problematic for all involved. I decided she needed a spring cleaning and signed her up for a sanitary trim (think a Brazilian wax for felines) and whatever else they recommended. The team was great communicating with me ahead of her appointment about what grooming she had had before (not much), what she might be able to tolerate, and what I was hoping to get out of the service. The business is in a fairly run-down looking strip mall but once you enter VIP's doors, it's brightly lit, clean, and friendly. Josh did a great job dealing with Emma's attitude problem and she's never felt (or smelled!) better. Prices were very affordable and they sent me home with some catnip and a toy. (Which I'm sure she did not deserve.) I will head back whenever Emma needs a freshening up. Highly recommend. read more

HORRIBLE. I took my puppy in there for his first real haircut and specifically asked them to not shave ANYTHING as he had an adorable fluffy cocker coat and that I wanted him to just be trimmed a little bit shorter but absolutely nothing shaven. What do I get back? His face completely shaven and his body shorter than I wanted as well. There is also an obvious spot of a mistake that was buzzed and then they switched blades so the rest of his body was longer. Everything about his haircut is terrible and my adorable fluffy cocker is now hideous. I am livid. read more

I was desperately in search of new groomer after a bad experience. I was having trouble finding a groomer that wouldn't require me to sedate my long haired snowshoe Siamese who is feisty. The groomers at VIP said no problem! They took great care of my cat and he was much more comfortable after a shave and bath. I take my dog to them now as well. He smells great afterwards and he loves going! Their de-shed option has cut down my vacuuming time significantly. When I was hugely pregnant they helped me get the cat and dog in and out of my car.
