Northbark pet groomers are the best groomers I have found. My adopted Brussels Griffin is terrified of people and they are excellent with him. I switched to them after my dog was injured by another groomer. They are consistently excellent. I will never take my dogs anywhere else. Since I moved to GR (almost 3 years ago), this is the place I take my girl to. I found North Bark, I'm pretty sure through Yelp actually, and at the time had picked it because it was affordable AND near my apartment at the time. In the last couple of years they've definitely gotten busier, but I never have a problem getting my pup in within a week or two of my desired time frame. It's more typical for me to get an appointment scheduled within the week I call. I love that they do a great "standard" treatment (brushes out, washed, nails, anal gland expressing, & ears) for $40. Compared to places I'd gotten my pup groomed at, North Bark is wayyyy more affordable. They do a great job too! She always comes out with some sort of bow on her color, fitting the season or holiday. Another thing I really appreciate is the open environment in the back. So while my pup is waiting for me or waiting for her turn, she gets to socialize with other dogs. They offer doggy day care as an option, and I have had her ferminated (I think that's the right word) for when she's really blowing her coat... This time I took her in, she had a hot spot. I gave the groomer a heads up and they made sure to watch the spot. I can say enough how much I love taking her here for her grooming needs! read more

Went here to get my dogs' nails trimmed. We walked in and we're out in less than 10 minutes, which was very nice since my dogs don't like being at the groomers. The lobby area was a little too dirty for my liking. There was poop on the floor that I almost stepped on while holding my dogs during the trimming. The nails were trimmed right in the lobby, which was fine, but someone needs to clean up a lot more often. There was also poop on the grass and sidewalk leading up to the door. It's more irresponsible owners, but still, there should be someone making sure things are clean and tidy. I went right after groomers were allowed to open, so hopefully this is all just because they were really slammed, and not the norm. read more

We are very pleased with North Bark. They were highly recommended to us by a friend who is a vet tech. They provided grooming practices with our Giant Schnoodle while she was still a small puppy so that she would ease into the groomings without stress. We would not consider going any place else. I've heard good things about North Bark from my friend who takes her St. Bernard & Chi-Pom there. My husband and I recently got a Shih Tzu.The breeder kept his hair very long, which was too much maintenance for us, and personally I like Shih Tzu's hair shorter. They did a great job with him. He looked like a new man and seemed happy walking around in their grooming area after he was done, even with larger dogs. He also received a cute little bandana and smelled AWESOME! The price is also VERY reasonable for everything that's included. I was expecting him to be much more than what I paid, even though he's a smaller dog. Inside the building itself, the decor is cute and the grooming area and main area look clean and updated. The business is located in a conveniant location with their own parking lot too. My *only* complaint (and I know this was a mistake--they were having some computer issues) is they overcharged me on the tip by $5. I was a little annoyed, but it will not deter me from making another appt. with them. read more

The groomers here are always very helpful and polite. There was quite the backlog with the Covid shutdown, but they were still able to get William in for an appointment in a timely manner. When William was between groomings and got some gum solidified between his little paw hairs, they removed it in a few minutes with a walk-in. The rates are pretty unbeatable too. This was a great find when I moved to this area a couple years ago. I take my Beagle there for a monthly nail trim and they do a great job. The staff is always very nice to me and my dog. They even trim the hair on my dogs paws so she can get better traction on my hardwood floors. All this at a very reasonable price. They are highly recommended. read more

I've been taking my Jack Russell Terrier to North Bark since the winter of 2007 or so. They always greet her very enthusiastically and affectionately. It's obvious that they really like dogs and take care to do a good job washing and grooming our dog. This is the best groomer I've ever taken my dog to. We had some bad experiences other places and my dog was very scared to get groomed but I'll never forget when I went to pick him up after going to North Bark. He was still on the table getting his finishing touches done and his tail was wagging and he looked so happy! Christin does an AMAZING job on him every single time and now when we pull up to North Bark he gets so excited. I recommend North Bark to everyone! When I took my dogs there I explained I had an injury, and had not been abloe to keep them in their normal conditon, and that is why I started taking them there in the first place. Everrything was fine, and we took them several times, and then all of sudden they made some phone calls on me about the condition of my dogs! As a former groomer myself, this was out of line and not ethical! You never do that you talk to the owers first, and explain yuor concerns! On my last visit there, they didnt finish one dog, and the other they didnt touch, but charged me $60!!! Previously they didnt clean the ears of one of my dogs, and I did it myself , and didnt complain, but that is pretty serious. I would never trrust them again, and they had no right to contact others about my dogs!!! read more

I will never go back to North Bark-the one lady that I always get to trim his nails sucks. She made him bleed way too bad this last time! Plus she was pulling on his front leg so bad to pull him to her and she could have broken his leg! Thankfully I was able to hold him and bring him over to her. I wonder how they treat our animals when we are not around. There are far better places out there. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you love your pets as much as I do please take them somewhere else! read more
