Aiden, our server(and I think, owner) was extremely helpful in educating us on Mediterranean dishes and helping us to choose. We choose the sampler platter to split between two of us. I hadn't been here in a while and I was shocked at how fancy it is now. The ambience is amazing for sure. The decorations and furniture is really nice and though I didn't sit on their couches, they looked cozy. I don't smoke, but this is definitely a place I would smoke if that was my type of thing. They have a large store with all kinds of smoking supplies at the front side. They also have cards sitting out to play which is nice and unexpected. It's for sure a great group setting. As for the food, it is amazing. Somehow it got even better than I remembered. I ordered the humus for an appetizer. The pita bread was so fresh and delicious. I could have eaten it plain. The humus was really good as well. The server was nice enough to bring us sides of the spicy sauce that the spicy humus comes with to taste. It's really good but boy is it spicy and overpowering. My husband really enjoyed it. My husband and I got the Mediterranean gyro combo. No complaints at all, though being a saucy person I added a little extra tzatki sauce to mine. The combo came with fries. I was expecting average fried but they were fried to perfection and with the tzatki sauce for dipping... they couldn't get any better. My mother in law got the chicken salad. I wanted my gyro but I was also jealous of her salad. The chicken smelled like heaven. Lol. If I was in a pig out mood I would definitely want that too. The only thing I dislike about the place is that they don't have fountain drinks. I like to drink a lot especially when pigging out which I really want to do here. I don't feel like buying multiple cans. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for that. read more

The food is amazing but the environment/smoke shop turns me off. Paradise Restaurant & Cafe has an absolutely amazing gyro salad for only $5.95! The gyro salad is definitely our family favorite item there! The salad is loaded with gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, kalamata olives and feta cheese! They serve the salad with Greek dressing and tzatziki sauce! We love the tzatziki sauce so we always ask for extra and then we use it as the dressing. We like to toss the salad around in it so that the entire salad is coated nicely in the tasty sauce! I have never dabbled with Mediterranean food much beyond the gyro and by and large most are decent. Today I spread my Mediterranean wings a bit. I was over in the Cold Springs area (this place is literally the next building past the firehouse) and gave VIP Mediterranean a go. I had the beef shawarma and I am glad I gave it a go. This was very gyro-esque but much different than I expected. The seasoning was very good and the pickles added a nice twist. An excellent sandwich. My wife and I love a good gyro, and so we stopped in for a couple of the lamb ones. I have always liked middle eastern cuisine, and this place is a good spot for that. They have dishes and items you aren't likely to find anywhere else. That said, we ordered two lamb gyros, along with some other menu items, and took them home to eat. (tip: do "not" try to eat one of their gyros in your car!) The food was delicious, and the gyros were large, with a generous helping of lamb. Pretty much a whole meal in itself. Unfortunately, when we tried to repeat this tasty experience, we were disappointed. There must have been a different cook, or something, because the gyro was, literally, half the size of the former. It was so obvious. To be clear, this is not a cheap food item. Runs around eight dollars, if I remember right. The first time around, it was a good deal. But this second one, not so much. Way less meat, fewer ingredients, and the small size has pretty much put me off getting another one any time soon. It's a shame when consistency disappears. If the second gyro had been like the first one, I'd happily have given this place five stars, but for now, I am being generous with three. read more

I don't know how my husband and I haven't visited Paradise sooner, considering we live within a 1/4 of a mile! It's truly a hidden gem in the middle of suburban Cold Spring. My husband, on impulse, decided to stop and order a gyro and the House Mix Grill to go. For $5.95, the gyro was huge! We were actually able to share it, and feel delightfully full. It was filled to the brim with lamb, tzatziki sauce, feta, tomatoes, and onions. It's got to be one of the best gyros I've ever had. But, we also had the House Mix Grill to try. It's a mix of chicken, lamb, and kofta (beef), all seasoned differently, and cooked perfectly, with spiced, sauteed onions. It also came with a garlic sour cream type sauce to pour on top. It was served over a bed of rice. The meat was so flavorful and tender. There was so much food, half was saved for later. With a good carryout experience, we decided to actually go up 2 days later to eat in. It's not only a restaurant but, it's a hookah bar too. They have so many fun flavors but, we didn't smoke this time. We were there to eat through a portion of the menu. And, I'll also add that the owner is a super nice guy. As appetizers, we ordered the House Mix and Sajyeh. The House Mix was a platter of smooth hummus, smoky baba ghannouj, a super refreshing Greek salad, and the best falafel I remember having. The falafel was crunchy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside, with warm, flavorful spices. The Greek salad wasn't your typical lettuce and dressing laden dish. It had a light layer of lettuce shreds, and was loaded on top with chunks of cucumber, tomato, feta, onions, and olives. It was tossed with a light olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and oregano dressing. The platter was served with warm pita for dipping. We also ordered the Sajyeh. It is a chunky, spicy, tomato and onion sauce served with pita. It actually went perfectly with my husband's rice on his entree too. I ordered the Shawarma as my entree. It was a huge wrap, stuffed with beef, tomatoes, onions, and thin pickle wedges. It had a garlicy hummus sauce to pour over it. I absolutely loved it. My husband ordered the Lamb Kebob. It was tender and seasoned to perfection, topped with sauteed, spiced onions, and served with rice. We really enjoyed the food! We ordered so much, that we were able to bring home half of it for a 2nd midnight dinner. This is a must try restaurant! read more

First visit and wasn't aware it was a hookah lounge, just looking for some good Mediterranean food and its good! I came with my family so being with kids it wasn't the most family friendly spot to eat in because of the smoking. It would be nice if they had some outdoor seating then we can escape with our younger ones outdoors to eat. But lets talk about the food, very tasty had the chicken plate with rice and salad, delicious. I love the sauce to dip it in fantastic; as well as the baklava. My husband did the mix plate but instead of lamb he did a side of the beef which usually goes in the sandwich and that was wonderful. We tried Paradise this past Friday just to do something new. I've been to many hookah bars in the past and thought it would be fun to go to one again. This place is so dark, the windows are tinted, and the chairs and tables are all black. The chairs are not comfortable at all. They have couches but we were seated at a table with chairs so I can't tell you how the couches are. The music was great and our hookah was very pretty. They have a pretty large menu which has hookah options on one side and food on the other. We were getting food after so I can't tell you anything about that except if you ask for a water you get a bottled water. The hookah menu was divided into three parts, regular, premium, and special. Each time you went down a section the price went up by 2 or 3 dollars. We decided on watermelon and it was pretty good. I don't think I'll be coming back to Paradise but I can't say I'll be going to any other hookah bar either. read more

I went here recently and was very pleased. The humus was amongst the best I personally have ever eaten and the Hookah options and cost were impressive. Yes, the place was crowded and the wait was longer than I would have initially expected but the quality of the food itself and the nature of the place is such that you should not be going there if you think it i a fkin McDonalds. We had the Humus which, particularly for the price, was amongst the best I have had. Very smooth, perfect amount of garlic, and the olive oil drizzled over it was NOT cheap but was very tasty. I had the Kofta kabob which was very tasty and seemingly fresh made. We tried a mixture of Watermelon and Stawberry tobacco with our Hookah and it too seemed fresh and flavorful. The only complaint is that it's a hookah bar and you have to accept that ambiance going in. This place has some solid Mediterranean takeout. I've made it a mini-mission of mine to eat allllllll the Mediterranean food while I'm prego and this place made it to the "yes please" list. I had the chicken kebab sandwich, it was simple with tomatoes, pickles and garlic sauce, it was perfect. For under $9, it came with a pop and a salad. I bought the lamb kabobs meal this past Saturday, February 13. $18.00. The lamb was over cooked, chewy, and lots of gristle. Rice was "minute" rice, no taste. The Greek salad was made from the nasty, dark green outer romaine leaves. Very disappointed to say the least! Never again. read more
