Which led me to the huge... easy to get lost (which I did).. and accidentally happened to get hungry right in front of this Delicious meditation grill serving one of my favorite foods... Gyros.... Yes!!.. Fresh, and tasty to say the least.. nice seasoned fries that needed no ketchup.. My only selfish gripe is the meat to topping ratio was lacking on the meat. We come to Jungle Jim's every week with our kids (2 and 4 years old). We typically order pretzels and then get drinks from the Tikka Grill bc you cannot sit over in their section without being a paying customer. Today I sat down with both kids as they were eating pretzels waiting for my husband to come over with the drinks. One of the workers came up and asked if we were ordering food. I said no but that we are buying drinks - pointed to my husband in line. She informed us that we have to buy food, not just drinks, in order to stay sitting in their designated area. I'm a mom with two kids, trying to follow their rules of being a paying customer and yet they wouldn't budge...still told to move. There were no other areas to sit in the designated seating area provided by Jungle Jim's. Tikka's seating area had a fully open bar with just one worker eating at it and 2 of their 4 tables open. I had to take my kids and go stand in the corner and have them eat their pretzels on 30 racks of beer while the seats we had previously been in sat empty. This seems wild to me and a bit overkill. Where is the humanity? My two kids needed seats for 10 minutes and they were not busy at all. I could understand enforcing it if it was crowded or if I hadn't been a paying customer even. I plan to avoid this place moving forward and I hope Jungle Jim's sees this and does something to make their other seating vastly better. This place is 1/10 for me moving forward. Kindness is important and this place is really lacking. Do better Tikka. The world is hard enough, let your paying customers - mom and her two toddlers- eat in peace. read more

It's conveniently located near the beer and wine and not too far from checkout so you can keep your groceries while eating Ordered the falafel wrap and baba ghanoush. Both were delicious. My wife and I needed something to munch on while we were enjoying the beer samples, and this was extremely convenient. We thought the chicken Shawarma pizza was absolutely delicious and delivered relatively quickly! With such great reviews, I am always hoping for more from TikkaGrill, especially with where the restaurant is located. I love that there are small businesses to eat at within Jungle Jim's. Unfortunately, my experiences have not lived up to the hype. Meat seems to be placed on top of the Sandwiches. Sandwiches look like they have more meat than they truly do. My meat has been dry. I like the freshness of the vegetables. Their natural flavors shine through. Bread gets soggy towards the middle to end of consuming the sandwich. Service is fine. Not overly friendly, yet not rude. Proficient for a quick service establishment. Limited seating is available at their counter. There is also seating by the beer tasting area of Jungle Jim's. That is where I prefer to sit. read more

I loved Tikka Grill's stand-alone shop when I lived in West Chester, and now that I've moved to Eastgate I love this outpost in Jungle Jim's just as much. TG is conventionally located next to the bar, so grab a beer and a gyro and have yourself an awesome lunch or dinner before browsing the aisles and stuffing your cart to the brim. Remember, it's important not to shop on an empty stomach! One quick tip for the quarantine times: You cannot eat at the counter in the store right now, but they ARE open for take out! read more

Mimicking Heather's opinion of Reigning Gyro Champ! I've had a heck of a fine trying to find a good gyro in Cincy but the wait is over. I'm already ready for round two. Surprisingly, a little after opening, there was a decent amount of people in line/already waiting for their order. I forget that Jungle Jim's is actually a cool hangout spot with shopping, drinking and eating. Quickest way to get there is through the back "alcohol" parking lot; this will save you a labyrinth of walking. They have a bar of 10ish stools you can sit at to eat and is pretty clean. I simply ordered a lamb gyro with no tomato. Came out in 10 minutes and I must admit I thought there was a little too much lettuce, I'd consider asking that to be light next time. Other than that, zero complaints. The pita was warmed and thick, tzatziki sauce was very light! They were not skimpy on the sauce thank God! As for the lamb itself, YUM. Recently had some horrible lab elsewhere but man, this one was sooooo good. Overall a solid gyro that I plan to eat again and again. I'd love an addition of cucumbers to the menu so I will be hopeful! Regardless, don't pass Tikka up! read more

Ok Tikka, you are my current reigning Gyro champion of Cincy! I had been wanting to try this spot every time I come to Jungle Jims, but had never had the chance! Recently on a Friday, during pint night, I ventured over to get some take out! I was instantly waited on, despite how busy the area was. I got the lamb gyro and added feta. I also ordered the Greek fries. They were ready in under 7 mins, again, despite how busy it was! The gyro was impressive, and I wasn't expecting that! I am half Greek and always looking for the best, as there isnt much Authetic Greek food in Cincy. It was full of tender lamb (most likely combined with a little beef which is standard). The tzatziki sauce was perfect and just the right amount. The tomato, lettuce and onion were fresh. The pita was fluffy and slightly toasted. The Feta was creamy and a welcome addition. My fries were crispy and had a great seasoning on them. The feta and legit kalamata olives were perfect. I could have done without the vinegar heavy dressing on them, which added a bit of sogginess and was too tangy for my liking. Take out or eat at the bar tables nearby with a pint! Had a chicken gyro there with my daughter last night. It was like a strips of , seasoned meat mixture, most likely prepared from a paste? My wife and I were looking for a cheaper restaurant to go to so we could maintain our eating-out budget, and this place seemed like it would be fairly inexpensive. We're frequenters of Jungle Jim's, so we knew our way around. I ordered a steak and provolone pita wrap, my wife got a falafel wrap, and we split an appetizer of the baba ganoush. For everything, our bill was $17, which was exciting. We got our food probably ten minutes later, and everyone was very polite. We both got a good amount of food for the price. I ate my whole wrap and some of the baba ganoush with pita and I was filled. My wife ate about half her wrap and was full. We both enjoyed the food pretty well, though my wife's falafel was slightly burnt, which was our main complaint. I always enjoy baba ganoush, but am never blown away by it. And it wasn't life-changing here, but it was very tasty. Had a lot more flavor than what I usually have. Overall, the food was good and probably a 3 or 3.5, but price is always a big factor for me. Two of us got a good meal for $17, which could have been $14 if we forwent the appetizer. Definitely worth checking out if you're on a budget. read more

I really wanted to like Tikka Grill. The food was pretty good but the service almost ruined it for me. After I looked at the menu through Yelp, I had decided to try the falafel plate. When I got to the restaurant, which is located inside Jungle Jim's (not with the other restaurants when you first walk in, but on the other side of the store in the alcohol section), the menu was different. The only options on the small printed menus were gyros, wraps, pitas. I asked about other options based off what I had seen online and was not offered any explanations or options. I was told I couldn't just order falafel, either, it had to be in a wrap or pita. She said she had no idea what I meant when I asked questions and did not seem to care either way. I ordered a falafel wrap with baba ganoush separately. I specified tahini dressing on the wrap and it definitely had tzatsiki instead. The actual falafel itself and pita bread were good but I don't think I would go back since it's an inconvenient location, there's limited bar-type seating only, and the staff make you feel like you are wasting their time being there anyway. I think if Tikka Grill added more options to the menu and a little customer service training for their staff, this might be a nice spot to stop in for lunch or take out. read more

I went here with a friends, ordered the chicken Shwarma and she had a beef shawarma. The service was pretty quick, but the sandwiches were pretty bland. The chicken had no distinct flavor, the vegetables were pretty sparse, there was way too little sauce. The pita bread was very dry, crumbly, and overall disappointing. I heard really good things about this place, including from a friend that works here. I was really disappointed, there is absolutely no reason to go and eat here unless you are trapped in jungle gyms and it absolutely must have something approaching a gyro. otherwise there are much better options in Anderson Township, or even just going to get a Philly cheesesteak and buying some Taziki's sauce from jungle Jim's read more

It's okay. I guess maybe I shouldn't have expected much from a restaurant that's in a grocery store. That being said, Red Sesame that used to be in the front of Jungle Jim's is so good! I really enjoy Mediterranean food, as does my husband, but both of us felt like we left feeling let down. It's not that the food was bad, it just was only okay. There wasn't a lot of flavor in the food we had. I would certainly eat it again. That being said, Tikka Grill is relatively inexpensive. We paid under $20 for our meals and even had an appetizer. We also had really quick service. My reason for 3 stars is just that the food is only okay. I can appreciate inexpensive food, but I wanted the food to be better. I have always had quite friendly and helpful service here and I love their gyros. Always fresh fluffy pita with generous meat and thick tasty sauce. They have the counter seats but also the regular tables by the JJ's bar area to use when I have the family. Once I realized I could enter at the back of Jungle Jim's at the liquor store checkout entrance it became a very convenient place to stop in for lunch. read more

Enjoyed Tikka years ago when I had a gyro and fries. This time I ordered a large "greek" salad. I was expecting it to be larger. It was in the rectangular container they use. It was filled less than the container that had the salad with a protein we ordered. I was expecting a large greek salad to be in a larger square container, but for $8.00 maybe the rectangular container is what they use. If a greek salad, I was also expecting olives and a homemade greek dressing. A packet of Ken's Balsamic Vinegar was given to me instead. I was expecting more of a salad like Ali Baba would make in Cincinnati where it is clear it is a greek salad based on its ingredients and dressing. read more
