First of all they called to change appointment time which was not a big deal we went in early. Then we got seated and my mom asked a question about shellac and the women just kept smiling at her not answering. Thinking it might've been a language barrier I asked the gentleman doing my nails and then the lady started to argue with my mom about shellac. (my mom had a reaction to shellac on her fingers and was asking about doing just a gel top coat on her toes). After that the two employees were speaking to each other only and staring at me and it made me uncomfortable. The lady finished my mom's pedicure abruptly (no massage, the jets weren't on in the soaker foot tub, rushed treatment) and moved her to the drying table. My pedicure lasted another 15-20 minutes with hot stones and massage. They very things I knew my mom would love and why I took her here. It was very strange. There was no music playing which is a small detail but when you've had awkwardness already the silence made it even more uncomfortable. Unfortunately I won't be back.

I came here a month ago and made a very last minute appointment (around 9 am for an appointment at 11am). The service I did was Gel nails + Extensions + 2 Designs for $60. These were the things that I've noted and remembered: PROS - ladies that were servicing were really nice and courteous - took in last minute appointments - service was done professionally - no pain from any of the services - usually I experience some pain with nail buffering and the UV light heating, I didn't experience that here - despite the fact that the esthetician didn't know how to do the "marble effect" she attempted it until it was up to what I wanted - the gradient of the white was used with a professional spray to have a really flawless effect, not hand drawn so I appreciated that - they provided a complimentary hand and arm massage along and applied lotion at the end CONS - the lasted me three weeks vs the usual four weeks that I get, but I do understand, I'm not exactly the most delicate with my nails and hands - one of the esthetician was new at the job so she was much slower, but quality wasn't compromised - pricing maybe a little more than your typical nail salons - salon looks a little run down, more humbling decor Overall, this was a really nice experience, definitely, if you have time, go to this place, they do offer really good quality customer service and will get the job to the best of their abilities.

The following review is for their standard manicure ($18, before tax and tip). *Atmosphere* The space is incredibly large for a nail salon, although you wouldn't know it when walking by as the windows are covered with a large decal. The salon is clean and bright, and there is a long row of tables for manicures, a row of chairs for pedicures, and several shelves filled with a wide selection of nail polishes. Everything is comfortably spaced out, and does not feel cramped at all. *Service* Service is stellar. The staff are incredibly polite and friendly, and really go the extra mile to make your experience pleasant. When I was selecting my nail polish at the beginning of my visit, they helped me find a family of colours that I could consider and compare. At the end of my manicure they also helped me zip up my jacket, backpack and wallet to ensure that the zippers did not ruin the fresh manicure. *Quality* When it comes to the manicure itself, the staff are all very detail-oriented and careful. Here, they apply two thin coats of colour for a beautifully precise nail polish, as opposed to globbing on a single layer like other places do. This way, the nail polish also dries a little faster. They also include a hot towel, a hand/wrist massage and hand lotion. In addition, I find that there is something unique about the hand drying machines that they use that really helps take the smell away from the nail polish varnish, which is much appreciated! One small area of improvement would be the entertainment or TV: the day I visited the TV was playing the news whereas in the past I recall they played movies. It would have been nice to watch something a little more entertaining and less dry than the news, but overall this ultimately does not affect the end result of my manicure. For a manicure, I would definitely recommend the Bayview Nails & Spa. It's a lovely, relaxing neighbourhood spot, and they really give you the star treatment!

Nails that are on fleek, of course. I'm kidding, I swear I'm not that basic. I don't even own Uggs. And I've only gotten my nails done 3x in my lifetime. 2 of those times were at Nailed It Studios though so I feel it's time to leave them a review. Nailed It Studios is a tiny, appointment-only, cash-only, 3-woman shop, though I think they're hiring more nail techs to keep up with their insane demand. They're located in the weirdly isolated Langham Square mall on Kennedy but are thriving thanks to their impressive Instagram feed and what I'm guessing is a lot of referrals. When your nails last more than a month without chipping/lifting, you're bound to get questions on where you got them done. I got my nails done by Maggie, then Margie. Maggie is extremely sweet but was a little rough when filing one of my fingers. It didn't hurt per say, but it wasn't comfortable, and I left with a bit of swelling that lasted for 2 days. Same thing happened to my friend. That was literally the only flaw though, as my nails survived for the 6 weeks afterwards, with no lifting or dulling. My second time with Margie was even better. I'm a bad customer because I fidget and tend to stiffen up my hands a lot, due to them being perched in permanent typing position. She was patient with me and the nails turned out perfectly, no discomfort at all. That's why she's the boss. Her marble designs are legendary. Bookings are done conveniently on Whatsapp and first timers need to drop a $20 deposit, in person or through e-transfer. I love this. It ensures I have a transcript of my bookings and I get to ask questions and get quotes on designs I find on Pinterest. They take bookings one month in advance. Margie runs the Whatsapp and she's very responsive. Pricing is extremely fair. They only use gel and it starts at $30. $2/nail for matte, $5 for special polishes, and $6-$12+ for intricate designs. $10 to remove polish. Prices are transparent, reasonable, and you pay for quality stuff. They also give a stamp card which gives you 20% off after your 10th visit. As a woman who appreciates nice nails, grande lattes, and a good pun, Nailed It is the perfect place for me to pumpkin spice up my life and my Instagram feed. When her other co worker came in, she sat right next to us and they started having a whole conversation in mandarin with each other. Her attention to detail is not the best, and when I was told to wash my hands, I noticed one finger had a chip already, and asked her very politely if she can fix that one corner; in mandarin she said I was meddlesome, which is pretty much the same saying in Cantonese, as she proceeded to fix my nail. Maybe if she had paid more attention to her own work and stopped talking and getting distracted with her co worker, then she wouldn't have done such a sloppy job. Now I understand why the other 3-4 nails salons on the same floor were busy, except for this one. Won't be back.

She's gentle and puts in a lot of time and effort to clean my cuticles and everything. She really puts in a lot of attention and detail to the work. I got bio-gel + extensions and it is the most evenly-layered gel placement I have ever seen/felt. Definitely recommend this salon! I haven't had other technicians there but Lena was more than enough to make me want to come back!
