Mohammed (the plumber) agreed to convert our oil to gas throughout 3 floors in our house and install a new Navien tankless Boiler. Mohammed's work started off great but quickly turned sloppy (please see the attached pictures of the water lines installed in our basement). During this project, there were several major setbacks. for example, some of the new heating pipes that weren't installed properly froze over and eventually burst. Cause water damage in the ceiling and walls in the unit below. This was due in part to this company's inability to properly drain the lines if the unit was not able to be turned on during the winter. Mohammed never agreed to fix the damaged ceiling or walls in the other unit. He just repaired the busted pipes. Again, customer beware!! Mohammed is very rude and unprofessional. He over promises and under deliveries. He does not respect his customers. At the beginning he is very responsive (when trying to get your business). However, once the contract is signed, his attitude changes and he becomes more dismissive of your concerns and project timeline. He works with young Inexperienced adults. He has no license to work with complex boilers. As per another plumber he installed a used boiler which had many missing parts. He doesn't know how to operate the machine just install it. Take a look at the horrible work. Mohammed hangs up on his customers and/or waits days to return your calls. Totally unprofessional. He does not keep you informed of the process or any changes in the Scope of Work (SOW). He is only concerned about the money, calling, and harassing the customer for payment even when the work is not completed. He left us without heat and said there was nothing he could do until the weather breaks or until we purchased pre-heaters to melt the waterlines in the walls.. totally unacceptable. His two young apprentices were very helpful and knowledgeable. They tried there best to rectify the issues their boss created. We appreciate their efforts. We ended up having to call a real plumber to come in and configure the new boiler and get it to work. Even the wiring to the boiler was installed incorrectly (as per the Department of Buildings inspector). The outside censor never installed as well. We paid thousands of dollars for a bad boiler install. Do not trust this guy.. You will regret it! I would not recommend this company for any boiler conversations or complex plumbing work. It's not worth it. Get someone who is truly licensed and not working under someone else license.

I hope the owner will take this feedback seriously. Communication when booking important services should be handled by a person, or at least supervised more closely. We planned to have him come do the job. And I mentioned that I had trouble with other contractors recently. A lot of bait & switch. "$500 for the job. Oh, you want me to actually DO the job, that's $800". Mamadou assured me that wouldn't happen. Turned out that there was a misunderstanding about the job. He said that what I actually had shouldn't be covered by the price he quoted. I pointed out that I did everything I could to make the job clear. And that I had expressed my concern about pricing. He acknowledged that we discussed it and he said he would stick to the price we discussed. I was so pleased. That is real integrity. And the work he did was great! He worked quickly and efficiently. The Poland Springs water by Nestle is good and I was reluctant to drop them for that reason, but enough is enough. How much lousy service can we put up with until it's time to say goodbye. BTW, Ready Refresh happily held the door on our way out instead of asking what they could do to keep our account! Look, we all make mistakes from time to time, so that's no problem, and we don't mind if Ready Refresh makes an occasional error, it's just that they got to the point in which they didn't care about their mistakes. They'd deliver the wrong order and then I'd spend weeks trying to straighten it out. The Ready Refresh driver absolutely refused to ring our buzzer or knock on the door, and instead left the delivery in the hallway, which meant we didn't have a chance to notify the driver that the order was wrong. The list goes on and on. My point is, we didn't want to switch but our hand was forced, and so far, so very, very good! Manhattan Water Company did EXACTLY what they said they would. Delivered the right amount of bottles on the right day in the right way. Their policies are extremely clear and we know where we stand. If we change our order less than 24-hours prior to a delivery or refuse a delivery, we're going to get charged a fee. Very fair! As long as we both play by the rules I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Oh, and most important: The water (which comes from the Catskills) tastes great! I was worried it wouldn't compare to Poland Springs but it does indeed taste as good. If that didn't work, none of the rest mattered. So we're happy and hoping to spend the next 10 to 20 years with MWC!
