After charging a "restocking fee" for third purchase that was defective, this place kept right on sending emails of new items, etc. The manager is an utter fool, I have spent over 10,000.- here, he completely ruined any business I would ever do with him, all by being unbelievably nasty and lying about damage he states I did. Beware of false advertisement!!! I purchased a pair of earring from Virani jewelers from their website. Their site claimed free shipping but I was charged $33. When I chatted with their customer success manager, Shweta Sinah, she kindly directed me to their shipping policy which is no easy to find on their site. Their shipping policy is free shipping for purchases $250 and above. Meanwhile their site says free. When I asked for a refund for the shipping cost, sweta gave me half of it back and said she could give me a discount on my next purchase and would not refund the entire shipping amount. I was at Verani jewelers 10/19/2019. I had plans to buy three Pamp 1 ounce gold bars. The staff courteously told me that the owner will bring them. I waited there for more than an hour and a half and every time when I asked about the owner the staff told me that they can't call him because he is an owner. After hour and a half wait, the owner brought two bars of gold and trusting upon them I paid cash for both the bars and hurried off. Since I had to reach back home to Baltimore. I had the most difficult time there. I went inside and saw 3 ladies. I showed my receipt to Sujata, she looked at my phone and zoomed in where it said my name. She said my 1st name correct and last name incorrect (which is fine, I told her what it was, I don't want her to say we don't have nothing in that name, you just never know) She walked a few inches away and said "I will check in the back but I need the receipt". While walking, she is saying this but when she asked for the receipt she came back next to me. She didn't go back to check at all! At least go back & check, verify, ask for my I.D. Nothing! I got confused, frustrated and annoyed. I, then told her 3x, "I paid through Zelle, I can show you my transaction for Virani, it's paid off, I'm here, JUST to pick up. I can't show you a paper receipt I don't have it. I have a picture and it says its paid in full through Zelle." (while saying this, I was showing her my phone and zoomed the picture for her to take Another look, which of course she was reluctant to see. She kept saying "No, but we need this receipt, I need the paper." At this point I am so annoyed, literally that lady at the transaction/pay area, Mita; (heavy set Gujranti Aunty) has been working there, knows me for YEARS and is doing absolutely nothing, watching this whole scene. I even looked at her couple of times hoping she would speak up. She kept looking down as if she is busy doing an important task. There is a serious matter going on, she is not volunteering to help! This lady knows me so you would think she would least investigate the matter and help the customer. Nothing! I'm soo baffled. Why is she acting like she should mind her own business? there's a situation going on, take action and resolve the matter. At this point either it's Mita's high and mighty ego getting in the way or she just doesn't want to be bothered. (the store is completely empty, no customers, its a dead time) This is why I do NOT deal with Mita, she always has this attitude and it's beyond me! I thought its over, I'm not going to get my set, that's it, come back when the owner is here (which by the way they could have said, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but the owner is not here, let's get him on the phone", nothing). You can imagine my level of frustration and my anxiety went up. I realized Mita isn't going to do anything, she's in her own world. I gave up any hope on Mita and spoke to Sujata again and said "I bought this from here, I paid through Zelle, you have another worker here, speak to her, her name is Vimal and ask her. I don't have the receipt." Sujata asked for image again said "Oh Vimal hmm ok let me check over there (underneath the transaction/pay area) what's the name again?", then she went back of the show case, next to Mita and looked under the glass, there was a red box with the paper receipt. She said "oh here it is, she looked at receipt, showed me the jewelry for 5 seconds, checking the receipt again for any discrepancies in my story. I felt humiliated and insulted. She packed my set but she didn't show me, my purchase calmly, Not once did she say "Go ahead maim, you can check for yourself, are you satisfied, are you happy, any thing missing?". NOPE, Nothing. Sujata looked back and asked Mita, "can I give her?" Mita said "yes, its paid (she still didn't move an inch) Sujata moved a few steps then turned around and said "is there anything we need to do, like sign?" All I can think about is "Can I get my set already?" Mita said "no, its paid". I wanted to return the set so badly and get a full refund at this point! Sujata walked a few steps. She and Mita, both made eye contact as if there's a secret code language going on here! Sujata started to do small talk, all of a sudden she remembered my husband, seriously lady! I got my set but It cost me Much MORE. Will not go back there, time to go where they Value their customers loyalty, respect and honor. During this whole time, I spoke to them calmly, no rudeness, very nicely but now I'm looking back, maybe I should have showed them same rudeness and disrespect to those Aunties. When I reached out to them, the owner was very rude and not ready to accept for return or exchange. He explained that will not be a big problem and it will not crack. So this review is a few months late....and I have SO MUCH regret shopping here. I wish we had checked the reviews earlier since there are so many other instances of this happening. But the place is known for selling 18k gold as 22k. We have receipts stating gold purchased was 22k and even the staff repeated it MULTIPLE times. We went to another jeweler to have a part fixed and he was the one who then revealed to us it was 18k. I am shocked and disgusted by this! We had been shopping here multiple times and even sent many friends here. We will MAKE SURE to let everyone know not to go here and I WILL be getting the law involved. I cannot believe and understand how these people are still in business. They need to have legal action taken against them. I was with my friend when she was sold multiple jewelry items that the shop claimed was 22k gold. They even have this in writing on the receipts. We recently took the item to another jeweler for fixing and the jeweler took one look and clearly pointed out that this was a 17k piece. We then took all other items that were also bought from these scam artists and they were indeed also 17k sold as 22k. It is truly sad that they would throw out business just to scam people. Hi, I recently took a jewelry set from Virani. The owner is ok (This 1 star is only for him), BUT THERE IS A TELUGU SPEAKING LADY. She is the worst lady EVER, she talks very nicely and asks what's your budget. If we say X amount, she will show the sets which are less than X-3000 and tries to sell for X+1000 price. They marks prices for 300 - 400% profit value and then say on sale will reduce the price. Example: Your X=14000 and let this TELUGU LADY know the price. She will only encourage(Talk very nicely, say that this set suits you the best and if you try to select bigger sets, she will say not that good and piece is very delicate) to take only the sets which are around $8000. And if a diamond set costs $8000. They mark the price as $32000 to $35000. And then say, its on 50% sale and you can get it for $17000. Then this lady says to the owner that their price is only $14000(And to us, she will say price might be little here and there), then they start bargaining and gives us for 14500 final price. Solid profit of around 5 thousand on each set. They first get to know our budget and they make sure they have the profit of around 4 to 5 thousand. They make profit on people who are very inexperienced in this area and they CHEAT. Here in US, I used to think this will not happen. But these worst people make out of money from innocent people. BEWARE. There should be some county/state rules and guidelines which they should follow and if they miss it, severe penalty should be there. read more

Employees and the management are Very Fraud in Virani Jewelers(Oak Tree Road, Edison NJ). My chain was cut and went into shop to get it rejoin. One employee took the chain, measured it (39.9 gms), took our phone number and asked us to come in 30 mins to collect the chain. After 45 mins we went back to collect the chain, but it wasn't ready, so waited for 10 more mins. Finally chain was ready. (He sent the chain to worker through a attender Workshop is on the backside of the road). When I asked to check back the weight, I was shocked. It got reduced to 1.8 gms. i.e., now the weight is 38.1 gms and the chain length is reduced to 2 inch. When we asked about the difference, initially they were pretending as if there should be some mistake with worker or wastage in chain must be of 2gms...bla..bla.... We still were discussing.. As time was passing, they started blaming us saying..There should be some mistake in your chain..not sure how old was it, how cheap quality was it... Later we went to Worker,but he defended himself that he just joined the chain and gave back.. Was ready to show the video. Finally went to the boss and nothing happened. Even though it was clear that there is a difference in weight but still he was supporting his attender and worker. We didn't get any justice from them. So lost all the hope on them. I wouldn't give this store any stars. I was doing some jewelry shopping for my wedding, shopped around and went into Virani. They have 3 locations on Oak Tree Rd. in Edison. Looked for some stuff in the first one thought it was legit, and the lady started getting excited and said she'll take us to the other store across the street. We go there and we're looking at a necklace when I notice a round adornment was missing, but made nothing it bc people probably touch it a lot. She puts it aside. We find 2 other similar pieces, really like the style and everything, and is almost about to buy it when I notice a small dark spot on the necklace. Thinking it's a stain I point it out, she says it's probably just from the manufacturer or machine. Me being a naive jewelry buyer, believes her. Then as I closely inspect it, I notice a few other spots like that, and the same on the other necklace, and more adornments missing. We point this out, and the other lady literally stares at the ceiling! Every time we asked for a price she would tell us don't worry about it, we'll work it out. People start coming in and she says "stay cool, it's ok." Thank God my sister in law was with me and she's more experienced about these things! Can you believe we almost spend about $5000+ on fake jewelry?! And this when we're already half broke from planning a wedding! Lesson learned, a real jeweler maintains a poker face and doesn't try to push real gold on to you. They almost seem like they don't care if you buy something or not. This lady was super hyper! I went to this shop many times. Though their staffs are friendly, the owner particularly a fair and bald one is very rude to customers, if you are exchanging something. I bought a necklace for my mom which she didn't like.So went to exchange it. That Owner was very rudely and harshly asked why u want to exchange it if u bought it yourself. I said my mom didn't like it.
