So the tickets were nearly £100 each but that's okay for the line up. It didn't help that it was chucking it down with rain on and off throughout the day until late noon. I have to say that I had a pretty crap day. The toilets were an absolute joke queuing over and hour and twenty minutes to have a pee?!?! It's not like this is the first year that they have ran this festival or indeed know how many tickets they have sold and work out that a few toilets actually wasn't going to cut it. I know that you pay more for drinks at festivals but this one took the mick. My vodka diet coke didn't even taste of that, God knows what it actually was. The fiat rides that were there were quite cool. Although the rides themselves are really short - I would say about half the time they would normally be. The taxi thing was a joke. We ended up walking for over thrifty minutes following signs to the taxis, what's that all about? Plus when we got our taxi they charged us twice what we paid to get there. Which again is just another liberty and I don't think anyone was actually checking the cabs as some of them weren't even registered cabs. I wasn't off my nut so that was okay, but what if someone off their face got into one of the unregistered cabs? It was an okay day, but with tickets and drinks and rides we spent over £500 for one day. That's not including the taxis. I received and email about booking for next year and I thought "I really don't bleeding think so". read more

Good but getting a little expensive these days. Been to it a couple of times, always an experience and worth it in the end. Foo Fighters were excellent, Prodigy, Muse, and Queens of the Stone Age were brilliant; the Foo's being the best. If you only go to one live show a year you can't go wrong with this one. read more

It has to be said that V festival is very essex. What do I mean by that? Going reading festival, those you see are those who frequent camden town, goths n rockers along with everyone else. In V, there's the vibe of a night out in Romford, with packs of late teens/early twenties men and women (in short skirts and wellies of all things) out for a good time. Also, you may hear the odd spontaneous chanting of forever blowing bubbles. Not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with that - in fact I'd love it if it was sung everywhere! The music's got plenty of variety in style and quality, with good headliners this year from the likes of the prodigy and chemical brothers. There's a scheme whereby you are reimbursed for returning your used beer cups, this year (2008) at 10p a time. Pretty useful, in order to lower the price of a pint. Though it's difficult to resist the urge of a little collecting once a set ends, then heading to the cup collection point on the way to the bar. read more

This gets busier every year, I think there are too many people attending so it makes it difficult going to see different bands at different stages and getting a good view. Also travelling to the venue and camping can be a nightmare with so many people. I hear horry stories although nothing bad has happened to me everytime I have been. The bands playing are always great and popular at that time of the year. Not too many legends play like at Glastonbury but still a popular lineup. The music is always live and great quality. There are acts to suit a broad range of tastes, although this can lead to arguments over who wants to watch which band at the same time. The crowd always has a great atmosphere and the sound is fantastic. read more

V festival is brilliant, the line up is always good providing two full days of great music at many different stages throughotu the park. There is lots of food on offer at the different stalls and there are a number of bars dotted around the site. Clothes and gifts can be bought from between the stages. A festival just isn't right without camping though. You must camp to enjoy the experience even if its on your doorstep! read more
