Sometimes you strike it hot, other times it's cold as ice. When you get a good salesperson, it's a very smooth transition in updating your new phone or finding out how to get it repaired (for a very low price), if you've dropped it on the ground, and you can't see the screen anymore. One day recently, I got an awesome salesperson, and he did two things that made my day: 1) Figured out why my mobile internet wasn't working, then showed me which buttons to press on my mobile to reconnect to another server = re-connected me to Yelp, and thus society 2) Recommended a great lunch spot since I told him I was starving. When you get a bad salesperson, he answers only 2 of your questions ("It's going to be $350 upfront to repair your damaged screen" OR "If you want to upgrade to the latest IPhone, you have to pay $25/month from now on." OR "Nothing else we can offer you here, unless you're willing to pay me extra." and 10 seconds of your time. I rest my case, Vodafone really is a lottery pick when it comes to receiving good service. The only thing baffling than your overpriced mobile phone plans is the unpredictability of your sales force. You merged with 3? Hmmm, I wonder who was doing better out of you two?...

There's a Virgin mobile store that shares a wall with this store, just go there!!! You will thank yourself for doing so. From reports I have heard from friends who have been to this particular store, the staff are your average telecommunications salespeople. Sometimes you get a decent human being, sometimes you get a seemingly lazy and unmotivated twat. But what's unique about that? That's just a phone store. Really, if you want a phone/plan that constantly drops out of service (even in the metro area), that has the poorest data speeds in the country, and offers below par customer service, go to a Vodafone store! If not, please go anywhere else. Telstra, Optus, or Virgin will be able to sort you out. Don't waste your time elsewhere.

He patiently answered all of my queries and concerns. Plus it's definitely a kids friendly store as my sons took turns in testing and playing with the iPhone test model with no reservations from the staff. My kids spotted a shelf filled with preloved Xbox games which were going for a song. If you're after sound systems and players, they stock Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and others here. Conveniently located on South Road, this is a great place to come and browse all the latest gadgets and techs.

I have purchased a phone for my child from here, great, basic, locked with minimal credit for only about $30. Didn't thin he would find something until he saved a bit more but proved me wrong. They seem to stock stuff you can't get in the usual department stores or even sometimes in specialised music shops. I have also purchased a larger tv and set top box from here before and have received great service every time. It does get rather packed out in the store, especially when they have a big sale on, but they do always have a security guard at the entry/exit of the store. Staff get really busy, even though they have heaps of staff working all the times I have been there they also seem to often have heaps of customers. But obviously that is a good thing and the wait has never been horrendous. I tend to go with the theory of looking for one thing, phones OR computers OR cameras OR dvd's, etc. Way too much to try and look at the whole store at one time.

It is great to see that the staff culture at Rundle Mall is not just a fluke, but seems to be across all their sites. Basically most Harvey Norman stores are set up the same. Huge entrances to the furniture department. Usually entrances are in the middle of lounges, if you go one way you will ge tmore furniture then curve round to televisions and the likes, go the other way and get beds and bedding. I have managed to grab some fantastic bargains on some great pillows here actually. Heaps better quality than at department stores and they lasted heaps longer. The Electrical and Computers are usually in a separate section at the rear or one side of the store, with electrical left of the spearate entrance to this area and computer, mobiles phones, camera's, PC software, etc to the right of the registers. I have never purchased nay major electrical items from this store but have bought some really good computer equipment here. Including a fantastic Acer laptop. It was already out so cheap and had a cah back offer making it even cheaper in the end. I have always received good service here and been given some great advice from people who obviously know their products. Getting the service is the hardest part - they are usually really busy, more so in computers and electrical departments, and it may take a little wait before someone is available to help you. However once you have someone their service is usually very good, I have never had an issue with a staff member at any Harvey Norman store.

But I find that you're paying for it when you buy stuff here. That's why they bitch and moan about online shopping. You'll get exactly the same thing and pay less than half the cost in many situations. I haven't ever bought furniture at Hardly Normal's, just because if I'm paying that much, it'll be from a premium store, not this place, or any of the others. I do feel a bit sorry for those that have to buy their computers here. Seriously, go to MSY, buy the parts, and learn to do it yourself. You'll end up with a new skill, a computer that costs literally half the price (or less), and everyone will tell you you're awesome. Which is what I can't tell this place.

I bought a new box in here a few months ago. I think it was an Antec 300. A power supply too, a fairly good one. Both had been going really well. I think since I went in there, they've reorganised the shop, if they're anything like the other MSYs I've been too. Now, you don't go to the counter and ask the staff to get the parts you're after, you need to walk through the store, pick up what you want (which is tricky if you don't know what the packaging looks like), and walk to the queue at the counter. MSY really aren't about service. They're about being very cheap. If you've got a faulty product, then they won't be exchanging it, they'll be sending it off to the manufacturer, and you'll be lucky if you see it again in the next month, usually more. But that's part of the chance you take when shopping somewhere so cheap.

The Country Road store on Unley Road at the Metro Shopping Centre is possibly the best CR store in Adelaide. I would have to say that it's certainly the biggest. They have equally large spaces dedicated to women's wear (actually that area is the biggest) as well as their men's and kid's ranges. Homewares aren't forgotten at the Metro store either and they have the biggest selection of bowls, bedding and bits and bobs I've seen in any Country Road shop. What I like about this particular outlet is they seem to have a magic storage area where they pull additional sizes from. The staff here are first class and will go out of their way to help you. Only one criticism, I was shopping for one of their handbags recently and had seen it on special at a David Jones Country Road outlet in the city. When I asked if they could price match (as they had always done in the past) I was told they no longer did this. I really hope this was a one time situation and they've come to their senses otherwise they run the risk of losing sales as most people will always go for the cheaper option. Come on Country Road you've always looked after me in the past - don't stop now.

The store is nicely presented and spacious, no clothes rack claustrophobia in here. The range is excellent and the store manages to keep all the sizes in stock which I've always been thankful for! I've found the staff a bit hit and miss, I've been here and be greeted and looked after wonderfully before but lately staff seem to quietly leave the customers be, which I've found a bit odd when said customer has a few hangers in her hand and is walking around looking at more of the range. Their accessories are excellent and I love the shoes here, just hang out for a sale as the prices are a little bit much for my liking.

Situated in Rundle Mall, the store is just a stone throw away from Next Byte. While next byte may be cheaper, the Apple geniuses are very helpful and the entire experience seems polished with everything from the mobile purchase system to the elegant wooden tables. An amazing store from a good franchise.
