However it's always about who has what and the drive can be worth it. I continue pushing ahead to visit Virginia ABC's in the 757 and provide up to date photos and reviews. I called a head with travel and traffic on a Friday. The two clerks were very nice even though in the midst of unloading a late truck. They confirmed a bottle I was looking for. The business is located on the right side of the strip as you face it. Plenty of parking and the lot was clean. Signage was good at the storefront, however I never saw on the road. The floor of the store is pretty small and the bourbon area smaller than others too. I asked the staff for the Bardstown Discovery I was looking for and was led to it on the shelf. Checkout was efficient using my card. All the staff wore mask. The clerk let me self package with COVID. Over a $100 it's necessary to sign. Not a store I will most likely come back to with distance and tolls, but it's a good option. 3.5 rounding down.

They also run sales on certain items if you can catch them at the right time,if you don't see what you want you can ask the cashier or any other employee and it's a possibility of them having more in stock at the back of the store. The location of this Virginia ABC Store is in Landstown Commons an area I frequent. It is directly in front of YNot Pizza off Princess Anne inside the strip which can be confusing to navigate. There is plenty of parking and the lot was clean. The store is is average to a bit larger than others. They carry everything you could ever want, however harder to come by items can be out of stock as I found. The staff was fantastic on their recommendations. Also they provided information on when the truck would arrive to get one of the six bottles of Blanton's Bourbon. I like this store better than ones by my home and plan on being a regular. 4.5 rounding up with killer customer service.

Located in the Providence Square Shopping Center in Kempsville. The store is West side of the strip with excellent signage. The center is updated and has plenty of parking. No debris in the area or upon walk up. My arrival was just before noon and there was a line. Any bourbon hunter knows what this means. It's Monday truck day and some hard to find bottles are ready to be pillaged. I learned it was STAGG Jr. today which is rare. The store was clean and organized. All of the new stock was on shelves. The line was orderly and when opened precisely at 12 PM customers made their way to a box of 12 STAGG Jr. I got the next to last one. Price retail is just under $60. However secondary market hundreds. This was a great day for an elusive bourbon. Checkout was socially distanced with the staff protected by plexiglass. No issues with my gift card transaction. The clerk was friendly and knowledgeable. Another staff opened the door for my exit. This will not be a regular store with distance from my home. However if they have certain stock I cannot find elsewhere I have no issues visiting them again. I created a collection of area ABC stores that users may find helpful.

The Oceanview shopping center sign is easy to locate and the main entrance is by the sign. Parking is plentiful and the lot clean. The store is pretty small and it's in an older strip. However, it's clean with plenty of natural light. I think most customers can find what they need with a variety of spirits offered. The bourbon area was good size and fully stocked with the truck delivery arriving that morning. I asked the manager Charity about a few hard to find bourbons which they did not have. Since I had the time she did tell me that bourbon was her specialty and pointed out several of her favorites. Her knowledge was great! I left empty handed which does not occur often. However, I liked the store and area. Although it's about 20 minutes from my house I probably will return with excellent customer service.

Located in the Great Neck Village Shopping Center off Great Neck Road and Mill Dam. Customers will find plenty of parking and the lot was debris free. The walk was also tidy as the staff opened the door for me. This has been a new COVID policy to enforce mask use, but also nice to be greeted. The shop is on the smaller side, but packs a lot of inventory in too! The bourbon section which is where I always head straight to was decent, not overwhelming. I saw a few staples, but only one semi hard to find, Bookers which they had to my surprise seven bottles in their signature wood case. The layout is very straightforward and the staff has done a great job keeping the stock organized and business clean. I checked out with a Michters SB for $41. This bourbon is typically a great seller and readily available. Since Virginia controls their prices it's as close as a customer can often get to suggested retail. The staff was helpful and friendly. He offered a suggestion on a next purchase. This store will not be in my regular rotation. If they offer a more rare selection on a Monday shipment I may call to confirm product and pick up. Often rare items cannot be held. Check them out if in the area.

Two hour parking is off street or nearby garage that's FREE! The area is nicely kept with sidewalks power washed weekly and windows washed weekly. I did spot debris outside their door however on my most recent visit. On November 10th the state of Virginia had a special bourbon release across the state. Formerly lottery bottles were available in all stores across the Old Dominion. I lined up early on a beautiful Fall day with others that became friends after six hours. The manager peeked out at around 8 AM and gave numbers out. She was terrific. I was #4 for Wellers Full Proof. It's retail $50, on the secondary market hundreds. At noon when the store opened everything was orderly and checkout was smooth. The cashier was friendly and wore a mask. The store is a smaller floor plan, but packs a punch on inventory, especially bourbon. It was a fun day learning more about bourbon and how to locate rare bottles from new friends that were much more knowledgeable than I. The Weller was incredible by the way.

Find them in the Birdneck Shoppes in between Laskin & Virginia Beach Boulevard. The store is one of two anchors and signage is exceptionally good on the building. This Virginia ABC has a fresh new look and is inviting to customers. Parking is nearby and the lot has been clean. The interior although clean, bright and extremely organized with displays is a letdown on size. The bourbon area particularly has less shelf space than others. However still a strong inventory of favorites. They also have a refrigerator offering cold alcoholic items such as Jack Daniels Honey. What has elevated the store is their fabulous customer service from staff and female manager. Twice the manager has went above and beyond to assist me with harder to find allocated bottles. Although this is a store that I could easily drive to from my home it's not one that I will frequent with nearby Hilltop being superior on bourbon inventory. That should take nothing away from one of the newest and cleanest stores in Virginia Beach.

I travel this road from time to time, but I guess you can say, I do not pay attention to my surroundings like I should... smh. Well on NYE, I stopped by this store to see if my brand of Tequila was available... nope! Ugh... While other brands were available, I was set on a particular brand. Nevertheless, upon walking in, I was greeted and the store was pretty steady. It was NYE and the store usually closes about 6pm. So people try to get in and get out before it gets too crowded and before the lines get super long. Well this NYE, none of that... the stores are running low on options. Well, while I left with nothing, I will definitely be checking out this location more and more. This store is located in a strip mall as well near a few eateries and shopping. Therefore, there is plenty of parking. When in doubt, check them out. You may find what you have been looking for by checking these hideaway spots. Take care of yourself and enjoy life :)
