I called this morning to confirm my appointment because my appointment card from last year stated 5/4, and I received confirmation by text and email that it's 5/5/2926. I was told that I have no appointments because Dr Pellizzon had left the practice. if I hadn't t called I would have driven 45 minutes for no reason. The receptionist said it must be the old system?! No sorry, no anything. I should have been notified that he left the practice. Time to find another cardiologist office! read more

THE INCOMPETENCE OF THIS PLACE IS INSANE!!!!!! If I could give them negative stars, I would. Specifically, the african-american woman receptionist. Not once but TWICE did she mess up my appointment! The first time, she scheduled it for the wrong day. I had witnesses with me that heard her confirm the date and time. When I arrived, she said my appt. was a NO SHOW! Um, i'm sorry... what? It was scheduled for the day before! THEN, we wait a month to get this stress test scheduled.. I show up, and there's NO APPT. SCHEDULED AT ALL! I HAVE A PAPER CONFIRMATION OF THE DATE AND TIME FOR THIS DAY! This is absolutely insane. How damn hard is it to do YOUR JOB? On top of that, you cannot get ahold of them to save your life. They rarely answer the phone. The office manager was supposed to get ahold of me to regarding this matter and it's been a day and a half and I have not received anything. Physician that I seen, Not good bedside manor, and one of the NP. The support staff I don't have any complaints about.

My Mom never saw a doctor since, at the time, most of the doctors at this place retired or left. She was seen by Mindy, Physician Assistant/RPN who insisted that my Mom take low dosage Eliquis. Unfortunately, this caused my Mom to lose blood. She had to go to the ER to get blood transfusions and after that an Oncologist for Iron infusions. I will not take my Mom to this place ever again. read more

Melinda is a very rude, nasty, and abusive bully at the front desk at this establishment. I am a disabled veteran and needed a wheelchair and assistance. I also asked the front desk about video appointments. Melinda comes out in the waiting area and states that if I didn't want to follow up because I was inquiring regarding the video appointment, then there was no use of having my appointment for today. In addition, they normally don't help people with wheelchairs and assist and come get them. That the disabled person needs to have a wheelchair and their own assistance. When I called her on it, she flipped and said she never said either one of these things and was extremely rude doing it! She said I twisted her words as if I'm an idiot and didn't hear every word she said. I told her how she was very rude and wasn't going to argue and that that was what Yelp was for. She said that she would respond. Well, good for her, I hope she gets fired because there is no reason to treat anyone like way I was treated, disabled or not! So if you like being bullied and being spoken to as if you are a two year old, then this is the place for you! read more

My prescription was electronically signed which cannot be filled. It was their lunch break when I called so I sat in Walmart's parking lot for twenty minutes. I finally got an employee on the phone, one with an attitude, his name was whiney or something like that. I tried, in vain, to explain to him that prescriptions cannot be electronically signed and that their office should have been aware of that. He talked over me and then hung up on me, he acted just like a spiteful little brat. read more

This practice has gone downhill with the retirement of the original 4 doctors. As one of the original patients of VCC when it was started by Dr. Vossenberg I was very sad to hear he was retiring. I was told I would be seeing a new doctor at the practice only to be scheduled with a NP. I was informed that I would see the doctor in 7 months. Their procedure is that you see the doctor every other visit. NP then DR. Whether a new patient or a long-time patient of the practice I would expect to be introduced to the doctor first. Sadly, I will seek a new cardiologist in Fredericksburg read more

Don't expect them to give you accurate results from testing. I was given a heart monitor to wear in February of 2021. After waiting a couple of months for results I was told there was no concerning findings. At my appointment in December of 2021 I found out that the heart monitor picked up a run of ventricular tachycardia which can be a life threatening arrhythmia.. If I could rate them ZERO stars, that is what this rating/review would display! These so called "professionals" sent a $31 co-pay fee to collections for a billing purportedly sent to the customer! The billing statement date was 07 Jun 2021. No CERTIFIED LETTER to attempt to collect the co-pay as provided by statute. Customer NEVER saw ANY BILLING from these "professionals" until the ORIGINAL BILL showed up in the mail accompanied by letter from another "professional", ATTORNEY WALTER J. SHEFFIELD, DEBT COLLECTOR. Apparently, neither VIRGINIA CARDIOVASCULAR CNSLTS or the ATTORNEY WALTER J. SHEFFIELD knows or understand how to communicate using the telephone as well!. What happened to the use of the telephone to communicate with the customer? This is the manner in which we treat our community and veteran population? I'll be sure to NEVER use their service or any other service provide by Mary Washington Health Care. The billing was delivered by US Mail on 02 Aug 2021 and was paid on the same day with $6.73 of interest/fees. Congratulations on the demonstration of YOUR VERSION of professionalism and your ability to collect an additional $6.73 by NOT PERFORMING or ADMINISTERING to your responsibilities. I'll be sure to include your names in my correspondence to my Congressman, the BBB, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and social media. You ought to be ashamed and embarrassed! Might be wonderful doctors, I'll never know. Called yesterday to make a new patient appointment as I am unhappy with my current cardiologist and the scheduling person must have been busy. I left a message as requested and no one has bothered to return my call. Doesn't say much for the practice if it is difficult just to set up an appointment. 1. During my initial visit, the provider was unable to complete my assessment due to being called to an emergency at the hospital ( I truly understand). I never received a telephone call or follow-up to complete my visit. 2. After my nuclear stress test, I had to contact the office almost a month later to receive my results because they never contacted me with the results. I still never received a telephone call from the Cardiology Provider. Having worked as a Registered Nurse in the field of Cardiology for many years, I am well aware of good customer service on the side of providers. read more

I have seen my Dr. Once. I scheduled when it was time to see him again and it took me 5 months to get an appointment. I went to my appointment a little early and waited 50 MINUTES PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME!!! I had to leave WITHOUT BEING SEEN! I then called the office to reschedule and convey my unhappiness to be told someone had already rescheduled me for a month down the road. AT NO TIME WAS THE STAFF COURTEOUS ENOUGH TO LET ME KNOW HOW FAR THEY WERE RUNNING BEHIND. When I called back to the main number I was disconnected twice and put on hold for over 8 minutes. When I got through the woman I spoke to made it clear they did not care how lacking they are in the customer service department. I will be making another appointment with another practice. read more

Dr. Vossenberg and his staff were very friendly and courteous! I am a disabled veteran and get very good treatment here. Delays can happen as with any busy specialist. The staff is always very helpful and walks you through any issues or concerns you may have. I completed 5 visits including all tests required and thank god I am good! read more

I have been a patient at VCC since August of 2011. At 1st I was an involuntarily patient. Specifically, took an Ambulance ride to the hospital after an "event" and Dr. Martyak took care of me at the Hospital. Extremely impressed and pleased. All my office visits were timely; appoints were clear, they were very punctual in getting me in as scheduled. A the staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with were polite, informative, professional. Very refreshing. Again extremely impressed and pleased. I enjoy the Dr's no nonsense approach to dealing with my medical issues. Some may at first feel he is a bit abrupt. But not really, he just tells you like he sees it, and works with you to help you get well. Actually I find it refreshing, I'm tired of being told what people think I want to hear just so they do not offend or cause me stress. Tell me the truth, whether it stress me or not, thank you. VCC is an excellent place to seek care if you need help in the areas of their practice. I go there and would recommend them to anyone searching for their area of expertise. I feel Dr. Vossenberg may be a good doctor but his Staff is one that fails on many points. I was in several months ago because my blood pressure shot up, after the visit I was called and told someone would be calling me to set up appointments for testing - NEVER HAPPEN. My prescriptions ran out so I went to the office and set appointments up and was told they would send new prescriptions in that day, NEVER HAPPEN. I called a day or so later and was told they were busy but they would get it in - NEVER HAPPEN. In the past I have even had Blue/Cross call me and tell me I needed to get in touch with Dr. Vossenberg because his office is not responding to them to renew prescriptions. Now it's the week-end and there is no way to send in prescriptions; guess I'll call on Monday and try one more time. I hope this is a rare case for him - but I think it may be normal from what I'm seeing here. In thinking about it there has been other times they have NOT called to let me know results when testing, I've had to call them even though they told me someone would let me know the results. read more

Two hour wait for my appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 3 p.m.; I showed up at 2:45 to comply with their "Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time" request. After an hour I checked to make sure my appointment time was, indeed, scheduled for 3. I was told to "bear with him" and be patient. Finally called into the back at 4:46 p.m., and the doctor came in at 4:59. Twenty minutes later, I was done & out the door. Not sure what my time is worth to them, but it's very valuable to me. That they would make anyone wait 2 hours is unacceptable; to make a disabled veteran wait that long is downright shameful. read more

I had to go for a follow up after the mixup with the results. I had an echo test done and Steven was phenomenal. He was so friendly and communicated to me what I was seeing. You could tell he's passionate about his job and I was utterly fascinated. I had a stress test this morning and Karen, Steven and a 3rd lady took care of it.
