I have been a patient for about 6 years and have never has any issues with the staff, billing, or appointments. I schedule my next appointment before I leave the office. My last 2 appointments have been either cancelled or rescheduled without any warning. I showed up for an appointment (I made 6 months in advance) to be told I did not have one. My current appointment was just rescheduled to another date/time/person 3 days prior to the appointment. When I called to find out what was going on I was told that I had cancelled my appointment several weeks ago (not true). With further questioning, I was told that Stephanie - who my appointment is with was no longer with them. So THEY moved my appointment without calling me. She insisted that they had called me, to which I again replied that I did NOT cancel or reschedule my appointment and had not received any phone calls regarding my appointment, I had only gotten my confirmation text message with the new date/time/person and that they needed to figure it out. I was also told that I have an 'outstanding bill' from 2018, which is also NOT TRUE. As a 2x a year patient, you'd think if there were a billing issue I would know about it sooner than 6 years LATER. I will give this office one more shot because I have had good care, but will move to another practice if this happens again. read more

I called and made an appointment for today at the lees burg location but when I arrived I was told that the appointment was for another day .. big fat lie. They also told me that I needed to get an order from my doctor before I can be seen. Which is not true Jessica one of the recipients canceled one the patients appointment so I asked her if I can take the appointment instead. She rolled her eyes at me and said. No!!!!!!!! And I can't discuss her condition with you. I was appalled to hear her response, I replied I was not asking about her condition. I asked if I can take her appointment since you canceled hers. She pretended like she did not hear me at all . She looked at the other receptionist and made a big ugly face. I don't recommend anyone going to this location read more

I was referred to this doctor after the ER doctor was unable to explain why I had periodic chest pain a month or so ago. The nurse practitioner who works for doctor Anis performed another EKG as well as a stress test on subsequent visits, and Dr. Anis also recommend I get an echo when those checked out OK. The technician who did the echo was OK, but did not share the amazing bedside manner of the nurse practitioner I met with the two previous times. I would have liked a little more explanation from Dr. Anis about my diagnosis (which got chalked up to minor inflammation of the heart lining due to a potentially associated virus that needed to just run its course), and I only got to see him a few minutes at the end of my third visit. Luckily, I felt that the nurse practitioner had given me a good amount of information, but I would hope in the future to get a little more care from the actual doctor I am there to see. read more

I'll start by saying I am unexpectedly surprised by all the negative comments I have read pre-posting. I have experienced the complete opposite with my appointment, evaluation, and treatment by Dr. Anis and Heart & Vascular Specialists. My situation - I was scheduled for total hip replacement surgery on December 5th. During my surgery pre-op exam (on Wednesday Nov 30th) it was noticed that I had a problem identified with my EKG test which required a chemical Stress Test and Cardiologist review. This was 5 days before my scheduled surgery. First Hurdle - Because of the EKG findings my surgery was put on hold pending the cardiologist report. I had two days to get a cardio appt and determine whether I was healthy enough for the surgery. After spending two hours on the phone searching for any available cardio appointment, which there were none, it was suggested that I contact Heart & Vascular Specialists for any available appointment time on or before Friday Dec 1st. Surprisingly, they had an available appt. on Friday Dec 1st at 9am. First hurdle overcome! Second hurdle - Passing the stress test which I did with no problem. But the additional Vascular Imaging which followed was inconclusive and required me to have an Echocardiogram which required scheduling another appointment. There were NO appointments available for Echo's until December 16th! This is where Dr. Anis became involved as he was very aware of my need and requirement to get Cardio surgical approval prior to surgery. Again, this is Friday and it's now 2pm - surgery Monday morning at 7:30am. Dr. Anis wanted to do everything he could do to get me the surgical approval I needed so he set up and ran the Echo himself. Thirty minutes later, Echo showed no issues that would keep me from my Monday morning surgery date. Dr. Anis completed the exam, filled out the required surgical approval form and faxed it to my Pre-op surgical team. By 3pm on Friday Dec 1st all cardio tests were performed, exam complete, and approval sent to my surgical team for Monday morning surgery! I want to be clear, Dr. Anis and his entire staff worked with me to get my Cardio exam completed and surgical approval processed. Thank the Lord my Echo showed no potential surgical issues and that Dr. Anis worked with me on a Friday afternoon to determine my surgical readiness! Dr. Anis didn't have to do what he did. He knew, understood, and believed how important this was for me! Dr. Anis was friendly, caring, interested, available, personable, and determined to give me the attention and care I needed. My visit with Dr. Anis for Cardiovascular concerns was displeasing and a waste of valuable time. My "visit" was a series of basic questions that had already been captured in the patient health forms. I was then told to schedule a 2nd visit for the most basic heart test - an EKG (only on Tuesday or Thursday afternoons). Dr. Anis was nice but I felt the visit was rushed (maybe so because he was 40 minutes behind), so his bedside manner did not appear to be authentic. Worst yet, he picked his nose several times as he inquired into my basic health and typed my responses into the computer. I was in disbelief - to my dismay, he extended that same hand for a handshake at the conclusion of the visit. Yes, I shaked it (what to do???). It was a mortifying experience and I still have NO answers to my heart concerns. read more

We recently found it necessary to visit this specialist. The service that they provided was minimal, but the cost that they charged was exorbitant. Fortunately, insurance covered most of it. The portion that was my responsibility was paid promptly. However, their billing department, Privia Medical Group, either lost my check or did not process it properly. I have spoken to them several times with no satisfaction. I now have to write a new check because of their screw up. I truly hope that because of their ineptitude, that my credit rating doesn't take a hit. Be careful if you visit this practice and need to have them process a payment. read more

I went to see Dr. Anis for precautionary measures due to a high heart rate and a little bit of chest pain. The front desk staff was very friendly, and there wasn't an issue with insurance, appointment scheduling, etc. They were a pleasure to work with. Dr Anis himself is a very friendly person, and is very knowledgeable. However, I think he isn't thorough enough. If you're not presenting with a life threatening heart condition then Dr. Anis seems to just brush it off to a lack of fluids or something in the same realm. It's very possible that could be the issue, but I feel like he's a little quick to dismiss concern, and doesn't particularly provide helpful feedback. Compared to other cardiologists I've seen, the practice doesn't ask many questions about your history, and as stated before, chalks anything other than life threatening cardiac issues to trivial causes WITHOUT doing many tests. All in all, Dr. Anis is a great doctor. I just wish he was a little more thorough when ruling stuff out. read more

I tried to schedule a viability test for my father with the Loudoun office. The prescription came from Fairfax Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery. After numerous calls and many different receptionists, after about 5 hours later they tell me they dont do the test the hospital does. So i called the Fairfax Hospital Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery back where i originally got the prescription for my father.. Fairfax told me va heart Loudoun does the test and that they gave me the run around. So Fairfax is calling VA Heart to schedule the viability test for us.............Way to go Loudoun you dont know what VA Heart services are provided and you work there. read more

I would not recommend that anyone schedule an appointment at this office. Twice I have made an appointment months in advance only to have them cancel the day off for various reasons. Most recently an appointment was canceled while I was driving out to Leesburg from Alexandria and the receptionist stated that it was canceled due to overbooking and it was the scheduling systems fault (the second time this has happened to me with this office, the first time I wrote it off and had to schedule another appointment three months later). However, after questioning her some more the second time she change the story and said that it was canceled because the doctor does not do patient visits on that day and that the doctor was now leaving at noon. Clearly they aren't very diligent and I can't imagine what it would be like to be an actual patient there and the level of service that I would receive. In addition the general tone from the receptionist was not very polite or helpful. It's frustrating having an important doctor's visit scheduled months in advance canceled on the same day. read more
