I'm a nurse and let me say this is a BAD place to get medical care. Long waits, the staff held conversations loud enough that just sitting in the next room I knew a lot of patient information I shouldn't, major HIPAA violation. (I'm talking diagnosis of STD while pregnant and missed appointments, termination of services, etc). All bad! The doctor is friendly enough, but he he spent most of the time trash talking my previous physician and telling me about his other patients. He flat out told me he wouldn't help me because I've had previous cesareans. And then, icing on the cake... the place is filthy. Disgusting!!!! THEE ABSOLUTE WORST Staff is rude. Like all of them. Especially the heavier girl with the glasses. She yelled out all my information for the whole lobby to hear. I couldn't believe it. I also talked to her over the phone and I told her I was experiencing cramping at 3 months, and she said "if you're not bleeding then it's not our problem". That was when I decided to change OB's, but here is my whole experience. They don't send out referrals fast enough. I was supposed to get a referral on my first visit and they didn't send it out till my 3rd when Patty asked if I had seen an OB specialist yet and I told her I never got a referral. She pushed it through herself. Patty was cool, but she is not the doctor and she is not the one who will be in the delivery room with you. In fact I went to this office up until I was 5 months, only to realize I would never meet the actual doctor who was going to deliver my baby until I was lying there with my legs spread open to a stranger. This was going to be one of the most vulnerable and memorable moments of my life and I was not about to have some stranger, who doesn't even care to build a rapport with his patients, deliver my child. The clinic is beyond filthy. Built up grime and roaches. To top it off, the staff all have attitudes to match. They sit around disrespecting patients, talking bad about people, causing unnecessary problems for patients and so on. Refusing to give a patient their medical records is ILLEGAL. The Dr Viruch is not present. No prenatal care or Dr here. Risk of infection the place is so filthy. Total nightmare of a place. read more

Dr is Never in office only seen him once always detailing with his assistant.. always canceling on us in this time of need.. my girlfriend is due in less than a month and just got another rescheduled appointment on there end... shes going to have to go to the ER for the 2nd time during this pregnancy 1st time she was leaking blood out in the 1st trimester they wouldn't see us.. now shes leaking fluid out less than a month from due date..should be seeing us every week this close... this is our 2nd child so were not rookies.. dr phung in chino, CA..delivered our 1st child were giving him a call... his office staff at the front desk treated us with respect.. here we are left clueless and left calling our old dr to figure out the paperwork for the maternity leave.. I spent an hour and a half waiting and was never seen by the doctor. He's a doctor who seems to think a patient's time is not as valuable as his time. I was never told he was running late. Just left to sit and rot. I decided to leave because a doctor who treats his patients like cattle can't be trusted in my opinion. The staff was polite but not helpful in any way. Like maybe they could tell you right when you get there that you're looking at at least 1-2 hours wait time. Unprofessional and unacceptable in every way. read more

Would not recommend this Doctor. Wait times are ridiculous! I had and appointment at 3:00 and wasn't seen until about 4:20... 40 minutes before office closed. There is NO communication between staff. As I was in the room doctor did an ultrasound DID NOT explain nothing at all, pshh as a first time mom you don't even really know what your looking at so that would've been helpful. I'm on month 4 and I have not heard my babys heartbeat. I requested that if they can put my baby's gender in an envelope and call me to pick it up. And they've been having it for Four weeks and never told me anything until I kindly asked. All my appts have been rushed, we don't feel heard. Doctor sent me to do genetic testing and something came back abnormal, he did Not explain if or how severe the abnormality was but all he kept mentioning was "miscarriage " and "abortion" and that a specialist would be able to explain to us more because he couldn't. This will be my first time trying out a new OB. The waiting is long, but I'm very patient ") The staff so far treat me with respect. I haven't seen Dr. or met him personally but Patty hands down is excellent! I already feel comfortable after three visits. Busy office so keep in mind the waiting is long and they try their best to see everyone without being rushed out. I rather wait, have my turn to ask questions calmly than being rushed out. So far it's been almost three years that I've haven't gone back. My delivery was c-section. I was taken care very well and my follow up visit with patty was excellent. So patty quit and that's the whole reason I was even coming back to this office I feel like she was the one holding it all together and I'm now 36weeks came in for my appointment just for them to tell me they can't see me because my nurse quit now only the doctor can see you and last time patty was out this was horrible it was all out of order and just a bunch of people running around while you waited 2+ hours just to be seen then when you are seen he hardly tells you anything about the baby thank god I could hear heart beat that's all I got from the visit didn't tell me the weight or anything they normally tell you. Now here I am trying to find a different doctor with only 4weeks left to go read more

So I'm extremely disappointed with dr.Viruch and his staff. I've been going to him since the start of my pregnancy. I just turned 30 weeks this week and I had a appointment today. They called me to tell me they were dropping me as a patient due to the request of doctor viruch. I had missed a few scheduled appointments due to me being sick, but always called and rescheduled if not the same day, the next day. I asked to speak to doctor and they told me no. My last appointment he didn't mention anything about dropping me or that it would be my last appointment only told me I might need a c-section. I find this extremely rude for doctor not to be understanding that I was sick and that was why I missed appointments especially since I had talked to him about it in office in person. He is a good doctor but for him not to care like this and just drop someone because they were sick and had to miss appointments due to that reason shows how much he truly cares for his patients which doesn't seem like that much. He did not have to be so rude especially since I went to him for my first child 5 years ago and now this being my 3rd, he just drops me 10 weeks before I'm due not even really for a valid reason. Just him not being understanding. Because of this I don't recommend going here. He might drop you too for being sick and missing a appointment even though you reschedule. Ridiculous. Never have I ever heard of a doctor doing that in my whole life. read more

Terrible Staff, I arrived at My 1:30 Appointment at 1:15. I was the third patient to arrive. Patients that arrived after me were called in to see the doctor. After an hour I asked what was happening. They said I would be next. Two more patients went in after me. I finally went into a room and waited. It was 3:30 and I still haven't seen the doctor. Yes i kept asking and the answer was always YOUR NEXT. It was important that I see a doctor. This is the only reason I stayed so long. I finally cancelled my appointment and went home, it was 3:45. If I could give ZERO freaking stars I would!!! The WHOLE FRONT OFFICE STAFF ARE A BUNCH OF RUDE MORONS!!! Don't get me wrong, the doctor and the PA are awesome! It's the staff that needs some training in working at a doctors office and customer service. I have been waiting at least 2 months for an authorization for an IUD. I was told once back in the beginning of May that they put in the authorization, I was then called the end of May saying the device was in. I made an appointment and took time off work only to get there and find out that it was NEVER FREAKING ORDERED!!! The lady who does the vitals told me herself, in her own words "next time they call you, ask to speak with the doctor because they like to call people saying something is in when in fact it's not"! I asked why would they do that and her reply was a shoulder shrug. Even the Mexican guy PA agreed with her. At this appointment on June 3rd he said he would put a rush in to get the IUD. I call a week later only to be told they only put the authorization in for insertion now they have to wait for authorization for the actually IUD!?!! Well I call this morning and they tell me again "we had to re-fax the authorization for the IUD yesterday" I asked why and they had no idea why they had to re-fax... I don't know what is going on but this office is ridiculous! No one could give me an answer and no one allowed me to speak with the doctor!!! All I got was rude girls keeping me on the line for 30min, then a girl claiming she was new at doing the authorizations and then passing the blame on "Abby, Chante and Vicky" because they take care of authorizations and nobody knew nothing!!! (I bet those girls don't even exist there) I called Heritage only to find out yesterday was the first and only authorization they put in for the actual IDU... All I want is a decent staff for my obgyn. It's really not that hard... answer phones, make appointments, collect co-pays, put in authorizations FOR REALS and be nice the patients ... Maybe they should make it harder to work behind a desk at a doctors office rather than an ROP class that can be done in 6 months. This office needs some serious and better training or a new office staff!!! read more

The NP Patricia is amazing. She's very patient and understanding. I seen the doctor a few times one time Patricia brought him in so I could meet him. He talked and joked with my husband and I for about 15 minutes. I wanted to see Patricia every visit;);) the wait can be a bit long but worth it. I only saw the NP Patricia with my first pregnancy. She was amazing, sweet and so easy to feel comfortable with like you knew her your whole life. Upon my delivery, Viruch was very uncommunicative with me. I never met him prior until about two hours before I delivered. He didn't even let who I wanted to cut the cord do so, (and my son was 100% healthy in every way) and during delivery he yelled at me to push and I was taking to long, I was already in labor for over 50 hours. NO LIE. I was exhausted, then I got to the point I was like you want to fucking push?! I'LL FUCKING PUSH. Then he yelled at me to stop and wait because he wasn't ready. It was like something you see in the movies, baby came out and he had to practically catch and drop everything else to make sure he caught the child. Also I gave birth in less then 10 minutes, how was I taking too long? But back to Patricia. When I became pregnant with my second, I went back there... even after dealing with Viruch, I though next time I'll just make sure to speak up with him, stick to my guns and stick up for myself. This is now not my first rodeo and I know what to expect. And she honestly was so worth it. I found out very early in my next pregnancy, so no heart beat was detected, and see said to give it a little. So I wasn't too worried. Then after that a small heart beat finally showed but you could tell something was wrong. She was very patient with me and loving through all of this... after time went by, and many appointments and specialist later. There was just no heart beat, it all stopped.. Patricia asked what I wanted to do, which was a d&c or to wait it out and see if my body passes it naturally or a miracle happens. Over the past weeks I read so many stories of women that had the same thing happen to them... and in the end there was a heartbeat. So of course I had hope, and didn't want a d&c in case I could be one of those women. Viruch's office has a lab, so it made it super convenient for blood work. You didn't have to go no where, just right down the hall. And after I told her I want to wait it out, she hugged and told me to let her know if I change my mind or needed anything, and to go on down and get my blood drawn for my hcg levels for my next appointment. The girl came that draws the blood, the girl and I were very familiar with each other, since she was the only one able to take my blood successfully with both pregnancies. As she was preparing everything, she handed me a clip board with a paper to sign. This was my mistake... I signed it without reading it... but I was crying, sobbing really. And I was scared and all kinds of emotional. Not to mention I trusted them. Fast forward less then a week, I started getting contractions and I knew I was going to miscarry. I called the office and she told me I was no longer a patient. That I signed a form basically saying I denied the doctors advice so the doctor doesn't want to see me at that office anymore. I had so many emotions. So I went straight to the office. I begged for them to see me and they wouldn't. The girl that use to take my blood, pretended like she barely knew me. I saw Patricia, and the second she saw me she bailed. I yelled at her to come explain to me PLEASE what is going on. And she basically dodged me the best she could and disappeared down the hall. The girl that takes my blood apologized. And I asked what am I suppose to do? I'm losing my baby and you guys are just letting me bleed away and be alone? I left the office after some choice words and later that night I lost it at home. I don't understand why they did this to me. I'm not mean or rude. I'm caring and understanding. They got me ready for another appointment when they never intended on me being a patient there... I'm still so hurt by this and I hope no one ever has a situation that makes them feel this helpless and scared. read more

Worst office I've every been to. At all of my appointments the staff were NEVER friendly. The wait is terrible. 45 minutes to an hour MINIMUM every single time. Not sure how Dr Viruch actually is because I've never actually seen him but the Nurse Practitioner, who I don't even remember the name because he NEVER introduces himself, is just as awful. They never send my primary doctor my records, even after requesting. Never going back to this office. It's terrible. read more

Dr. Viruch is on Dr. Viruch's time. The reason everyone sees the PA is because the actual OB Viruch has too many patients. The PA is great, but the problem comes when you are actually in labor and he shows up to deliver the 20th baby that weekend. He doesn't know or have any rapport with his patients because his PA always sees them and let's just say without going into details that he will get your baby out on his time, as soon as possible, whatever it takes...and I'm not talking about a c-section. If I could I would give them zero stars! My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Viruch when I became pregnant with my second child, but when I called to make my first appointment they asked me a few routine question such as how many weeks pregnant, how many pregnancies, any problems with the first pregnancy, and high and weight. Now with my daughter I had NO PROBLEMS at all No diabetes, No high blood pressure, Nothing. But after hearing my height And weight ( I am over weigh) they REFUSED to see me they said just because I am over weigh I am automatically considered high risk without even seeing me or running a single tests that would justify labeling me high risk. They clearly have a problem with over weight women and I know for a fact the "reason" they wouldn't see me is BS because my primary care physician said it was inappropriate and my medical group Decided to investigate the situation because they said their "reason" was not medically justified! I absolutely do not recommend a doctor office that discriminates against people for any reason including being overweight!! read more

Patty is extremely sweet and wonderful at her job. She's caring and makes you feel welcomed. The doctor on the other hand was extremely unprofessional. He was bias to his own opinion instead of treating me based on my test results. He made it out to be a joke and literally snickered in my face. I waited FIVE months to see this doctor for the symptoms I've been having and the results I got back from my MRI and he did nothing. I left crying the way he treated me. I would NEVER recommend this doctor and it's so sad because he has a great staff. read more

This is my first pregnancy and this office has made it more of a stressful experience than a joyful one. I've experienced nothing but setbacks with appointments and unnecessary problems with their office that could have easily been avoided. The majority of their staff are completely unprofessional and rude. The girls always gave off the impression that they did not truly care about the health of the patient but more about their work load. I would literally be standing there at the reception window waiting to be helped while they sat text messaging on their cell phones and plainly ignoring me. I had a UTI at the beginning of my pregnancy and I went in right away to get it treated seeing that it could cause many complications if not treated as soon as possible. The office FAILED to send out the urine sample for a culture and my condition ended up much more severe due to their immense lack of organization. I never once saw the doctor. The PA, Patty, was the only reason why I stayed as long as I did. I ended up switching doctors due to reoccurring issues and poor office structure. I definitely would NOT recommend this doctor, especially if it's your first pregnancy. read more

I will give this place a no star !! It was my first visit and it took the receptionist an hr to give me my paper work to sign ! Then I was greated by one of his assistance that looked really lost and confused to what she was doing ! I went in for a pregnancy exam and dr went right and was telling me how fat I was and how I was going to need a c-section bcuz of my weight yes he didn't want to take a ultrasound !!! Until I asked for one he just quickly insert the wand and said I see something there and immediately took it out didn't confirm my pregnancy ! Then god blood drawn and one of the staff said it wasn't to check my levels !!! Basically I came to this visit not knowing if I'm pregnant but yet left very depressed bcuz of him and his assistant told me I was fat !! His not even worth spending anyone's time. read more

Not pleased. I have a family history of stage 3 breast cancer (mom) with double mastectomy. I went in and was told only to undress from the wait down. I asked about my breast exam the nurse said "we will just pull your bra up to do it"...... Um, what? I've had severe pain in my left ovary and informed the NP of that. My ENTIRE "well woman check" (breast exam, pelvic exam and pap) were all completed in 5 (FIVE) minutes.i know because I sent a text right before she entered which showed the time. How is that any kind of a real or thorough exam especially of someone who has cancer history?? I was floored to say the least. Then she gave me a RX for an antibiotic with no clear reason as to what it was for and an order for a mammogram and ultrasound and told to make an appointment with the actual doctor?? My head was spinning when I left. I waited an hour and 20 minutes past my appointment time for a half a**ed 5 minute appointment. Hope she didn't miss anything, my life depends on it. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone and specifically if this is your first time being pregnant. The OBGYN is not the problem here although I will mention that I met the doctor once for a very brief 2 minutes. The wait time is typically around an hour long which I wasn't too concerned with but after waiting an hour every time I would see the NP Patricia for about 3 minutes. She would come in and do a quick ultrasound then be out the door. The ultrasound was never explained. She never asked if I had any questions or concerns. When I would mention how I was feeling she would give me a blank stare or quickly cut me off. The ultrasound pictures were horrible. The staff can be very rude, they refuse to help with any paperwork you need filled out from your employer or insurance. I asked for the office manager who could take care of these documents that were time sensitive and the medical assistant stated that they just don't do it and advised me that Dr. Viruch will not fill out any paperwork either. The staff was clueless as to what paperwork yet refused to let me explain. They advised me I would have to go to a primary doctor for any paperwork even though it was related to my pregnancy?! One time I had a scheduled appointment around 3pm, I was not seen until after 4 and when I came out they told me to wait in the waiting room for some blood work paperwork. I was there until after 5pm and nobody ever called me back. I tried to check the front office and nobody was there. It was as if everyone disappeared because of the closing time. I'm assuming they forgot about me. Eventually I left and they called me the next day to schedule my next appointment? Luckily I was able to find a new OBGYN and transfer at 7 months. I was very frustrated and desperate to transfer. I should also mention I signed a release for medical records to be transferred to my new OBGYN and they have not done so. I have called the office and they insist that they have not received any requests. This experience only made my first pregnancy even more stressful and I would literally leave crying at times. I went to Dr. Viruch's Barstow office because he was the only doctor in Barstow accepting new patients at the time that I learned of my pregnancy. I had read reviews online, and he had the worst, but I decided to take my chances anyway. BIG MISTAKE. An even bigger mistake was not making the effort to switch doctors when appointments with other doctors became available. I felt like an item on an assembly line at my first visit, and that didn't change for the rest of my pregnancy. Not even once did the doctor or anyone else at the office ask me how I was doing or if I had any concerns. I didn't learn until the end of my second trimester that Dr. Viruch no longer delivered in Barstow, and I only learned then because I visited the hospital and they told me there. I wanted to deliver in Barstow anyway because I'd heard the best things about it, and I decided this was best for me and my family. After I delivered in Barstow, I returned to Dr. Viruch's office at two weeks postpartum. No one asked me how I was doing or how my baby was doing. All I was told was that now another doctor was getting paid for the work they had put in. (This is really not true at all. They just would not be getting paid for delivering my baby, which they had not done. The same would be true if I had delivered two weeks earlier when the doctor was on vacation.) As far as I can tell, this doctor is in this line of work for the wrong reasons, and we're all better off going to a doctor who cares about the wellbeing of the patient first. read more
