They were also willing to hold the car a few days for us to make arrangements to get it picked up and even helped get the stereo out of the car for my son free of charge. I really appreciate all their help and will definitely be taking my other cars to them for service. So I haven't taken my cars back since my last review because the quoted I got from these guys ended up being pretty pricey and for work that didn't necessarily need to be done. As a San Francisco resident, I am accustomed to high prices, but their quote, which I approved, was simply jaw dropping. I paid it, but that does not mean it was fair, I was a stranded captive audience. My local SF based mechanic quoted me 1/3 the price for the same diagnostic, parts and repairs. Bavarian Autohause has THE BEST diagnostician in the world! Seriously, this guy is like the Dr. House of cars. Simply plugging in a car to a computer diagnostic tool doesn't always tell you what (if anything) is wrong, but Matt is great at tracking down those mysterious things that don't show up any other way. This place isn't cheap, and you might be able to find a lower quote at another shop, but other shops might only quote you for the lowest starting point to get you in the door or to try to lure you away from the competition. Next thing you know, you're back in the shop with more problems (and more expenses.) The mechanics at Bavarian genuinely care about the cars they work on and they take a lot of pride in their work. Taking your car to the shop is never fun and car repair and maintenance is expensive-- but I trust Bavarian Autohause to do a great job at an honest price.
