Owner is a thief. Purchased a class and when emailed to confirm since it had been months since initial purchase there was no response. Asked to reschedule and was told I couldn't and then refused to refund payment. I discovered she had already received payment from groupon months ago. That is illegal, you cannot take payment or charge someone until services are received. Also filed complaint with BBB, groupon. And credit card company. read more

I needed some advice and help restoring a mosaic piece made by my mother about 50 years ago, so I stopped to see if this was a business that could assist me. I was amazed to find a wonderful gift shop nestled into the rooms of this California bungalow....each room filled with treasures! I also met Mina, the owner, who teaches classes in mosaics in the converted garage. Several students were busy working on projects. This store is such a hidden gem!! It has so many amazing pieces and gifts of all kinds and price ranges. I needed a hostess gift, and I knew she liked mermaids and plants - not a ton to go off of! Visionary art ware gallery had a whole section of mermaid and ocean themed gifts. I ended up getting a gorgeous sea urchin vase for $18. I think the name leads people to think it's a gallery with handmade expensive art, but it's also a fun gift store with a ton of options. There is also a kids section with unique toys and books. I took a class and poke my index finger. Nobody's care when I reported to Mina. The staff pointed me to the first aid box. I was bleeding. Why don't they provide gloves or give student some warnings? What a lovely, lovely, creative, gallery, studio, boutique, garden, haven. It's so relaxing and filled with treasures. Knick knacks, candles, unique vintage, wall art. Most things for sale are much more unique than than you see in your typical "home decor" store. Take your time and go room to room in this large converted home-now-boutique... that's also a mosaic studio classroom. There's a garden outside with more art, lawn sculpture, plants and small furniture. I purchased four new drink coasters that match my new living room decor perfectly! I stopped by this shop because I have been working on a mosaic, and needed one area of it specially cut. I also needed some advice. I was a walk-in, and the owner, once she finished the class she was instructing, took time out of her day to help cut and place the pieces I needed to complete the project. Fun, creative, and relaxed atmosphere! Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Mina takes you through the process of creating your own crushed glass artwork. She really makes the whole process feel easy and is there with you along the way. There were so many great materials to choose from to create your own one of a kind piece. Cute art and mosaic shop set up in one of those craftsman style homes you see all around Long Beach. The artist/owner is really talented and there are some great items in here for purchase. She also teaches classes in the back of her shop (classes are on her website). I bought a deal on Living Social to make a 12x12" mosaic stepping stone. Mina is a great instructor and the class was lots of fun. Though, mosaicing(!) is alot harder than it looks and takes alot of patience! This is the coolest little shop. Visionary Artware is my "go to" place to grab gifts at the last minute or when shopping for the person who has everything. I can always find something at this place. Yesterday , as I was cruising down Broadway on my way to pick up some Kung Pao Chicken at Chen's down the street, I passed this great little place and it occurred to me that as many times that I have been there I have never written a review....so here goes: I am an artsy-fartsy type of gal and love to patronize places that reek of creativity. Visionary artware fills the bill. It is housed (literally) in a 1920's cute old house on a very busy street, so if you blink you might miss it. As you walk up you are greeted by a pathway and front yard that is composed of jack-hammered concrete with whimsical sprouts of greenery and flowers peeking up between the cracks. Lawn art concrete animals are on hand to welcome you. Visionary Artware is a mosaic tile studio, with many examples of their artistic creations for sale, but also has an eclectic assortment of interesting gifts that don't look as though they were mass produced by shackled children in a third world country. There are objects for home decor, inspirational gifts, jewelry and just-for-the-hell-of-it fun stuff! There are many discoveries to be made as you wander through the rooms of this little house, including an old kitchen. BUT WAIT!! The most mind-blowing surprise is the bathroom down the hall....a detailed mosaic on the walls with an "under the sea" motif and a full sized mosaic mermaid lounging in the old bathtub. WOW! I always have to drag friends here to see their amazed expressions. The last room in the back is the always busy workshop/classroom with busy happy people crafting away. If I didn't already know how to do this, I would be right there with them! The owner is super-nice and always makes you feel at home. You will leave here with a warm and fuzzy inspired feeling and some cool gifts for special friends. Go and enjoy! read more

Great selection of gifts, but they FAIL on their customer service/purchase policy or lack thereof. I went in and spent over $100 on three roll on body oils the first day during their once a year 50% off sale. The boxes were directly behind the tester and no other boxes of a similar size were there. It wasn't until the next day when I went back to the store to spend more money on additional items that I took another look at the boxes and noted that they weren't roll ons, but diffuser oil. Talk about misleading because the tester shouldnt have been in front of the boxes at all since a) not the same product and b) they were sold out of the roll on oil. I felt duped, but I called and spoke to a sales person to advise of the confusion and to return the items for a refund. I was told that it was a final sale, per the owner (Mina). I then advised the sales person that no where on my receipt is a return policy listed, much less a stamp advising that it was a "final sale". So, there you have it, a total disregard for returning customers, a clear lack of any purchase policy to assert one's customer rights and no effort by the owner to correct the situation. This shop just lost a loyal three year customer. What a shame! I regret having spent $200 at this dump. Buyer beware! read more
