They thought they…read moredeserved to keep the eye exam money and I had to pay out of pocket at the next place I went to even though none of it was my fault. Nobody is going to use the results of an exam that could not make glasses that were correct. This place has gone downhill so bad in the last couple of years. It used to be the best place to go but not anymore. Now, a year later I have to run across the house to answer the phone for a robocall from them about me needing to schedule an appointment. Like I would ever return after that experience! I had to wait months for that appointment too, when they are CLOSED on Fridays. I would be embarrassed to say I worked there. Five times? And they think it's my fault so I don't deserve all my money back? Crazy!

I broke my glasses this morning while washing them. I went to my eye doc office (Albemarle eye…read morecenter) I thought I could trust to help me. I was told "we don't have glue here, we can't help" I pleaded that I needed a temporary fix because I HAVE to work. I'm a single mom, I don't have time to take off work because I can't see. She sent me on my way. I decided to get a second opinion, I googled the near by optometrists. I landed at Eye Care Center. 15 mins I was out of there with new temples on my glasses. They took care of this single mom. I'm grateful and will be changing my eye care center.

She acted like there was no other choice. When the nurse called from Chesapeake, after a lengthy discussion, she stated if he could not transfer from his wheelchair to their bed he could not have the surgery there, because they have strict rules regarding transferring patients and he would have to go to the hospital to have surgery. So it was rescheduled for Washington, NC for another preop and surgery. Fours days before his surgery he got a schedule in the mail, without a cover letter explaining why, for January. When we called stating we had already had a conversation with the hospital the same day we got this letter, she got very defensive and hung up. We called the hospital back and were told he was still on the schedule. She tried calling Albemarle EyeCenter and did not get an answer. She called us back and said we would be called the day before surgery with arrival time. We did not get that call and when we called the hospital about the time, his name was not on the list. We called the Eye Center office today to cancel the January appointments and to ask for the $700 refund. We were told someone will get in touch with us. I'm not holding my breath and anticipate we will probably have to call several times to get that money.

No one wants to buy the old cheap grandmas collection or cheesy glass wear, we want to buy the book shelves and tables that it's on. Get store shelving and sell the furniture for families in need.

Nicely decorated, products attractively laid out, good looking displays in front of the window, pleasant music playing softly in the background. The clothing was well organized and the nicer clothing that would be appropriate for job interviews and more formal occasions was located separately from the other clothing, creating a boutique-type feel. I felt hopeful, relaxed and pampered while shopping there, but no more. It WAS very welcoming and I was looking forward to browsing and buying today. The moment I stepped inside, my enthusiasm immediately disappeared. Now the inside looks like some random building that someone just threw a bunch of junk in. Plus, I ripped a hole in my shirt when I brushed against one of their shelves. This is such a shame. Why take such a lovely, welcoming place and strip it down to nothing? This was a place that made you feel good to shop in and now you just feel like you are rifling through junk in some hot, vacant building. This is NOT going to draw customers. This is NOT going to make people want to spread the word about their shopping experience. For the past few months, I have been going in regularly & telling everyone how great it was, but now I won't be doing that. It is such a shame too. I wanted to give it less stars, but the staff is so nice, I felt that it would be unfair to them. I am sure I will still shop there, but it probably won't be my first choice anymore. This sucks
