The teachers are amazing. They have a sister studio in Mullica Hill called Fitness Yoga. I would highly recommend both studios.

I committed…read moreto doing it, went online, found a location close to where I would be working today & signed up as a drop in. I have never ever taken a yoga class before so I signed up for a beginner class and I honestly don't know what I thought it was going to be.....but this wasn't it. First, I couldn't find the place. The gps kept saying arrived - but I didn't believe it because it kept taking me to a shopping center. I saw Kohl's, PetSmart and BurgerKing - no way would there be a yoga studio here. But there it was right next to the Spirit Halloween store with a sign as big as day. Ok so all that farting around looking for the place made me late. I walked in literally 3 minutes before the class started. I ran into a young woman who asked if she could assist me. After explaining that I was there for my first class and apologizing for walking in at the zero hour she told me she was the instructor and that she would wait for me while I changed. Ok - so far, so good. (For me anyway, idk about those 13 other people who had to wait for me) The studio is very clean, peaceful, spacious large windows covered with blinds to set the mood and a corner with mats, blankets, blocks & eye pillows in case you forgot yours. This is where it got a little confusing for me. I thought I would get a workout, I thought someone would correct poses & posture, I thought I would break a sweat or at the very least get a killer stretch. Nope, none of the above. The instructor was sweet and did say this was a beginners class which is what I wanted and she stated that she was pregnant and would be going slowly. Ok, all that's fine - but I'm sitting here wondering what I got out of that one hour class, did I do yoga? Or did I sit on a mat inhaling? On top of everything, $15 for a drop in seems pretty expensive when most other places charge between $7 and $10. I don't know if I'll be back. I kind of want to try a different instructor but am worried that if the class is like this one was, I'll be turned off to yoga. But at the same time, I don't like writing poor reviews and they offer so many classes that it could have just been a one off. There were 13 other people in that room so there is a really good possibility that it was just me and I probably just need more than just breathing.

Pros: -Open 24/7 -Lots of parking -Lockers -Clean, but not always sanitary looking. -Nice staff Cons: -No stairmaster -No TRX -No aerobic steps -No pylometric (jumping) boxes -No rowing machines -No lying leg curl machines -Terrible ellipticals -Gym matts with no sort of traction. I literally slide off sometimes. -The "room" with the mats is dark, barely any mirrors, and too small for more than 6 people -No kettle balls -The TVs are too far away for us myopic people (nearsighted vision) -The lockers are shaped weird. My gym bag won't fit unless I stuff it or invert it. Not fun if you have fragile things you don't want crushed. -The 4-way cable upper body cable machines were designed for tall men. I am short and I literally have to stand on the seat to reach the bars and sit down. I've used similar equipment in other gyms and I only ever had to tip toe. -The cable machines aren't labeled by weight, it's just 1, 2, 3... I'm suppose to assume? -Due to limited equipment, you'll find yourself waiting for equipment that other people hoard as they do several sets of exercises. It's rather annoying, but apparently I'm not allowed to "judge," right Planet Fitness? This franchise is literally a no frills kind of gym. I've paid $10 more (than the black card membership) in another gym in Chicago, and there was way more benefits (i.e. swimming pool, basketball court, pilates and yoga classes, kettle balls, daycare, separate studio rooms with mirrors and equipment galore, TRX, indoor rock climb, plenty of experienced trainers training clients and complimentary towels). Granted this is south jersey. Just for reference, I've also been a member at Virtua Health and Wellness Center, and this PF is not up to par :( The staff claimed there was a gym trainer. I see her here and there, but I have never seen her train a person. I rarely see any of the staff step out of the front desk to interact with customers. Not sure if they are shy or what not; but they seem nice for the most part. No one asks for any sort of feedback on how to improve the gym. Also, there's a noticeable atmosphere difference in south jersey from Chicago. In Chicago I felt way more motivated. There was an equal amount of men and women using equipment. I rarely see any ladies use resistance machines, just a lot of cardio bunnies. I know there are people in this gym who would LOVE to have one session with an experienced trainer to motivate them to step out of that cardio fence. Sometimes, some people need a little guidance, but there is no such guidance in this gym. Look elsewhere! It's not an absolutely terrible gym. I just get bored easily because it's very small and there really isn't a variety of equipment. The only real saving graces for this place is that it's open 24/7, its location and price. Since it's a franchise, I'm not sure if the owners/investors care to improve it.

They are loud and immature and congregate in the locker room and around all the weights and weight machines cell phones in hand. I felt like I was a chaperone at a middle school dance. On the way out I asked if all these teenagers are paying members and the employee said no, planet fitness lets them use the facilities without paying to the end of summer. (How fair is that for a full fee paying member, having to babysit someone else's kids?). If you are looking for an exercise venue I would advise spending the little extra to find a quality gym. Only adding 1 star because I have to.

I found this studio a few months ago when I decided to reinvent my July 24th for 2025. Last year on this day in 2024 I had surgery to remove the extra skin after losing 165lbs from 311.5lbs and the surgery I came home and unfortunately started bleeding internally and had to go back to the ER for additional surgery in total I lost 4 pints of blood and needed a transfusion. That day I spent most of the day stressed, panicked, unconscious/ in surgery for 10 plus hours unsure of what came next. I knew this year on July 24th I was gonna seize the day and do stuff relaxing and rejuvenating. This yoga session targeted stretching and zen through the class . There was a point where she mentioned to let go of the stuff that's behind us and release it and leave it at the beach. That moment felt great to really zone in the waves and everything at the shore to move past last year. The instructor was very attentive and made sure everyone understood each pose and directed us when to breathe. This was everything I needed for today, the beach setting and the yoga/zen. Beginners or advance levels can take this class. Thank you!

First - barre was new to me and so I certainly wasn't use to this type of activity. For me, this was one intense workout that made me drip sweat like a land beast. I was sore after every class and really felt it in every muscle not just thighs or arms. Second - they have a lot of classes. You need early? They have early. You want late? They have that too. There is a class that will fit into your schedule and that's handy for someone like me whose work schedule isn't the same every day. Third - It's convenient and it's an attractive space in which to work out. Why does this matter? I don't know that it does, but so many people who write reviews always comment on the space if it's old, outdated, crusty, raggedy, etc. This place is new, modern, clean & cute. It's easy to get to, I never once had an issue with parking & there is a coffee shop literally 3 doors down for your post workout caffeine fix. Ok, so all that & only four stars? Well, it's small and the five classes I attended were all packed. I always felt like I was on top of someone or that I might kick someone if I didn't pay close attention. They don't have a changing room, I didn't know that for my first class & showed up in my work clothes & a gym bag. Their only restroom is inside the studio so you'll need to wait until class is over to go in there & change. That first time there was a queue of people who just finished working out waiting to use it and then me waiting like a dope to go change. I changed at work after that initial class. As a workout it is probably five stars, but as a whole, I never really felt fully comfortable there. I always felt like I was doing it wrong but seldom if ever got corrected. I always felt too clumsy, too sweaty, too frumpy, too fat, too much - but that's my own hang up not theirs. It's a great work out and fit in nicely between kickboxing & the gym. If you're going to give it a try, do yourself two favors - first, spend the $16 and buy the barre socks right away. Second, try to take at least one class with Marla - she was so encouraging and motivating, I wish she taught there more often but no matter who leads, you're going to get a great workout.
