This store has the worst customer service, and I barely got past the receptionist. She asked me to scan something to get a link to their HiPAA policy. I scanned on my phone and set myself up in their system, then went to the next page and found a place for my signature. I looked more closely and there were (much smaller) indications of of whether I wanted their advertisements? (no) or whether they could they sell my data? (hell no). I asked where the HiPAA policy was and she said "it's on there." I showed her one page with login and the next page with the signature. She said, OH YOU WANT TO READ THE HIPAA STATEMENT? and I said yes (dummy). I would like to at least confirm that they HAD one. She ran to get a more senior person. Senior told me that the two pages is all they have. So Visionworks does not have a HIPAA policy (except "don't sell my data" ... really?) And all the while the receptionist was saying "yep. just like I told you, IT'S RIGHT THERE, I said that. Ohhhh, no I TOLD YOU IT WAS RIGHT THERE. OK maybe she was new and really wanted senior person to think that she knew what she was doing. But Visionworks has no HIPAA policy. It's not "right there." Then senior wanted me to sign something that said I APPROVED THE RESULTS OF MY EYE EXAM. Seriously? Before I even had the exam? But I know how these places want the customer to have all the data on file that they need to NAB you if you complain about anything. Senior started asking me about my health data, and apparently I'm supposed to answer that and just assume they won't sell it... So I wanted to get this done and I gave senior the information, and then she left. I started to tell new girl that earlier when she asked me if I WANTED TO READ THE HIPAA POLICY and I said yes, she didn't give senior the same response that she gave me. Then she acted like she never had a job before and brushed right past me and did something in the storage closet while I was trying to talk to her. I told her she was really flippin' rude. That was about all I had in me by the end of the day, so I just left. I don't like the fact that Visionworks makes you scan something with your phone to login to their system. I don't like the fact that Visionworks doesn't even TRY to have a HiPAA policy, yet they make their employees CALL IT a HIPAA policy. I don't like the fact that they want people to agree that the eye exam is good before it even happens. This place was a complete waste of time. One Star We've been to the Fishers VisionWorks a few times now, and each visit has been a letdown. The staff consistently seem ill-informed, unprepared, and at times completely aloof. Basic questions about insurance, prescriptions, or frame options are met with confusion or vague answers. The level of customer service is disappointing--no sense of urgency or professionalism. Even the eye doctor comes across as passive-aggressive instead of patient and helpful. Each appointment feels rushed and awkward rather than confident or caring. Today I came to Visionworks to renew my prescription and get an eye exam. I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment but I was able to get started right away. Anaya did my pre-exam and she was great! She was very personable and efficient with the tests. The two receptionists at the front desk were very kind and welcoming. They both went out of their way to accommodate us and make personal conversations with us while we waited in the lobby. I was able to order new contacts and find glasses in a style that I really liked. My one problem with my appointment and my reason for docking a star is because, after I got my pupils dilated, I was told to wait in the lobby until the optometrist called me back to the office again. I waited a good 20-25 minutes before the receptionist told me that the optometrist already checked the dilations and I could leave. I was a little upset that I wasted all that time for no reason. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at Visionworks and I am happy that I found an optometrist's office that works for me! read more

They were efficient and friendly. Very easy to get an appt for two people and schedule online. Dr was kind and thorough. I was especially impressed and grateful to Bee the technician who helped us pick out our frames and checked us out. She was amazingly patient with my son who is on the spectrum and let him practice small talk with her. Bee gave us all available options for our frames and explained the different costs. Pretty shocked by this honestly. I arrived 12 minutes late for my appointment, and I was told that I had to wait for the 1pm appointment to go. Well they arrived 15 minutes late for their appointment. I waited until 1:27, they came to get me, then the woman at the front told the guy that she had to take the lady (that was also late) first. You can go here for an eye exam but I would not recommend buying eye glasses from here. They charged me a $10 co pay for the eye exam and an extra $20 since I didn't want to go with the eye drops for the retina check. The lady at the checkout was very inpatient and was trying to sell me a no brand frame and HI index polycarbonate lens for $320. ( the frame was $95 and the lens was $250. It couldn't have been $320 with my insurance) My insurance provided me with $130 allowance for frame and a good discount on other things. I ended up buying my glasses from TARGET OPTICAL. I bought a rayban frame with rayban polycarbonate lenses for $191. I am giving this a place a 2 stars because the eye exam went fine. I reached there on time and did not have to wait. This place is located in a plaza and you won't have problem with parking. read more

My wife and I scheduled appointments back to back for convenience. I wake up to a voicemail from Dylan informing me they've cancelled my appointment because I did not confirm my appointment. I didn't receive a single text message or email asking me to confirm. Of course, in 2024 Dylan couldn't PICK UP THE PHONE to call me and confirm my appointment or even use some simple logic seeing that my wife and I had appointments together. Jamie at the front desk , made the visit unpleasant. I was asking for help to find my prescription . Her response was it's in there and even when I asked for her to point it out she still did not and went to to look at her computer . She gave a sense as if I was bothering her for needing assistance. Dr. Cheng was awesome but the staff are completely out of tuned and apparently does not do well with customer service . If I could leave zero stars, I would. This is absolutely hands-down the worst place to go. Rude, incompetent, zero help with anything. Also, when I asked to speak to the doctor on the phone, I was told he does not speak to patients over the phone. What doctor does not speak to patients on the phone? What doctor makes patients drive in to speak with him directly? When pressed for a manager, they put someone on the phone who, then later told me she in fact was not the manager. She told me they didn't have a manager. I called the location in the mall, who was able to see us right away. The mall location told me they do in fact have a manager at the Fishers location. Honestly, even throughout, and after Covid this is still the worst location! Oh! And, they lost my daughters records. Completely lost them. then, told me they would call me if and when they found them. They never called. I had to call them! Then, miraculously, they did find them total incompetence. read more

The first two times I came to this location I felt that I received excellent care. The third time the doctor acted like he didn't have time and this last time is def the last time. I was hoping the original doctor would be there but she wasn't. I walked in and was told what wouldn't be covered by my insurance and what I needed to pay then I feel like my children and I were rushed out. When I asked if my youngest needed glasses no one could tell me and then the gentleman asked very loudly if someone else could help us. They stated that because I used a years supply I would need another appointment and be charged another fee. This is nuts. I could have lost them all and they would still require a new appointment. Knowing I'd be late (after driving to the RIGHT location) they told me to still come, no problem. Then Dr Shahi was so kind, easy going & thorough. I have never made a post on yelp before but today is the day. Starting off I will admit I should have confirmed my appointment, I am in the wrong for not doing that. Now for the part I don't get. I had an appointment at 1:15pm and the day before my appointment I received a voicemail saying that my apportionment has been given to someone else because I did not confirm. I called to see what is happening and they confirmed that they cancelled my appointment and gave it to someone else. I made this appointment almost a month ago and because I did not confirm it they gave it to somebody else the day before??? On top of that they told me they have an opening at 2pm that same day. Why could they not have given that appointment to the other person instead of giving them mine. All in all let this be a warning, if you plan on going here make sure you confirm your appointment or they will give it to somebody else. read more

I am a deaf customer who is ready to have an eye exam. They called in the interpreter without asking if I need one. On the day of the exam, I sent the interpreter home because I didn't ask for one. They won't work things out with them and isn't a place for deaf people. I would highly go to Walmart. I have interacted with the staff at Walmart multiple times without having an interpreter at present. So visionworks just lost their ratings because they didn't want to make this work. read more

The most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. Not sure if there's any training required but it sure doesn't show! All workers were standing at the desk and having loud, non-work related conversations. As a customer service manager, behavior like that would be stopped on day one of employment. I do care to hear about how drunk a worker is going to be for new years... have those conversations on your breaks. Where is the structure for the employees? Do they not have other tasks to be completing instead of just standing around? As for scheduling, I was helped with my initial exam but had to wait in the lobby for 30 minutes before I decided to just leave. There was no communication on where the doctor was or why they were running late. My appointment had already been pushed back an hour, which I only found out by text on the day of and pushed around my personal schedule. Please do better!! read more

I was simply looking at some glasses and this ignorant employee who could barely speak English came over to harass me about opening my wallet and trying to make me find my insurance info well before I even picked out a pair of ugly glasses from their awful selection. I know I have insurance, this lady was spouting something about me having to pay out of pocket because I couldn't login to my stupid app immediately and I'm like, chill, I was just looking for glasses rn not trying to spill my wallet contents in front of the store we haven't even got to check out yet. After trying to be sold at another vision place on how I could use my VSP benefits there for 50 percent of my benefits because of not being in network. I decided to head to visionworks to purchase my glasses. I was able to purchase my glasses and utilize my VSP benefits. I picked a two pairs of glasses and I'm more than satisfied. Feeling very frustrated with this location. I went in a couple of months ago for a general eye exam. When I told the Dr. that I was not interested in contacts for that day (meaning I wasn't going to buy any from them) they took that to mean that I did not need a contacts prescription at all even though I had specified that I wore both glasses and contacts. I recently contacted them to get a copy of my contact prescription and was told the Dr. never wrote one for me. The person at the desk did their best to help me, unfortunately, the Dr. told her that since I supposedly told her I didn't need one she can't write a prescription for me now and I would have to get a new exam done. Tried to explain I live out of state now, and all I was told was you'll need to get a second exam done somewhere else, there's nothing we can do. My overall visit to this Visionworks was not very pleasant. For starters, my family and I had just changed our insurance, which I was aware of, but was told I was not on the plan ( turns out the insurance has not kicked in yet for me, but it exists.) My biggest complaint was the impatient front desk worker. She was very short-tempered, and not really helpful. I was already stressed as is due to me having filled out the information before even walking in. Now I can understand store rules and policies- I work in retail myself. But, she was almost putting me in a situation of complete uncomfortability. She kept asking for my father's ssn information- which I do not know. Instead of her explaining further or being kind due to me being a bit confused, she was almost argumentative. I will not be coming back to this establishment, as 1. my insurance was not prepped today for my eye exam (not a big deal), and 2. just the rushed, negative and careless environment. read more

I had an appointment at 11:45am.I wasn't seen until 12:20 PM. The only part of being there that was professional was being seen by the doctor. No one seemed to know what their jobs were and no one offered any assistance to ask if I needed any h I again was ask to sit in the lobby. I decided to look for glasses so I'd be ready to order glasses and pay. Eventually someone came to do just that. The employee had trouble entering my glasses order. The problem couldn't be solved so they advised they'd call me in an hour when it's entered and they would take payment on the phone, this was now approximately 2:30pm. Finally at 6:00pm I called Visionworks and ask if they ordered my glasses. The receptionist checked and advised it had not been able to and they were so sorry no one called me when the problem couldn't be solved. I told Them I will just pick up my eye prescription and pay for my eye exam the following morning. She advised me that The exam would be free and I would owe nothing.When picking up my eye prescription I was told someone would help me in a few minutes. 10 minutes later I said excuse me I'm here just to pick up my prescription so I can be on my way. She said that's fine and I do not owe anything. Later in the day I received a call from them stating I owe a $15 co pay and another charge. Seriously? read more

Went in for an exam and they didn't have the brand I wear in stock so they gave me a sample pair of another brand to try. After a week I called and told them I couldn't wear that brand and I needed to order my usual brand. They finally came in and I went to pick them up only to find they'd ordered the wrong brand. They said they had no notes about me not being able to wear those. Stopped back in today to pick out a new pair of frames and reorder contacts and the lights were out and doors locked during normal business hours. No signs on the door or anything. I left work and lost 30 minutes of my lunch break for nothing. read more

We have been using them for all of our needs for our family for the last couple of years. But with trying to get a pair of glasses for myself has been an absolute nightmare with them. They messed up my order and didn't place the order for my glasses. Then they tried to get a temporary pair for me because I was going on vacation. I called to see if they were ready and they told me they were in the back getting them ready. I called a couple of hours later to see if they were ready and they said they never even received them. I told them I wanted to cancel the whole order and get a refund. They told me it would be 7 to 14 business days before I got a refund credited to my bank. I called them a couple of weeks later because I never received the refund. I was told I was getting a check mailed to me from them. I Called them back a couple of days later to try to find out why I was getting a check mailed to me. They said there wasn't a check coming that it was gonna be a credit and it was gonna take up to 30 business days. That is absolutely ridiculous that it could take a month to get my money back! Stay away from this place! They do not handle problems well and they don't have very good customer service! I'm still waiting for my refund! read more

My glasses weren't ready when they said they would be. The prescription for my glasses was wrong. They messed up my contact order. I have no confidence my contact order will be in on time or that my follow-up appointment to fix my Rx for my glasses will result in me seeing clearly. Latest was they wouldn't give me the date of my son's last appointment over the phone even with him getting on the phone and requesting they speak to me-- stating confidentiality. Promised to overnight them twice and call me back when they came in but no phone call and did not follow through w their promise to overnight them. They are awesome. They took the time to really evaluate my RX. I had been struggling to see for about 4 years and the doctor told me my RX was too high. Now I can see better than I have in years and I was able to throw away my readers. I will come back every year to get quality eye care products and to work with such great people. read more
