Great Experience!! The staff at this location has improved tremendously!! Today was slammed packed at this location probably cause it's Saturday & back to school but the staff was so friendly the entire time. They Answered all my questions and help me pick out a few pairs of glasses that I found & was unsure about how it looked. In the end Cade ( hope I spelled that correctly) helped me decide on the two that fit my face the best! I truly appreciate the time taking for me today! May you all be blessed! If you have tried them in the past & it didn't go so well as I read from old comments I would suggest to go again. They have picked up their customers service game by far!! Great job !! I am incredibly disappointed by the complete lack of empathy and terrible customer service at this establishment.I drove 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to my appointment. Due to severe flooding and an active state of emergency in Madison County, I arrived 16 minutes late. The moment I walked through the door and gave my name, a staff member called out from across the room, "Nope, can't take him."There were no questions asked, zero sympathy for the extreme weather conditions, and absolutely no attempt to help me reschedule. To dismiss a customer so coldly after a long drive through dangerous conditions is unacceptable. I will 100% not be back. read more

The office manager Kade will not give you your PD on the phone. However, if you call the 800 number, they will with no questions asked other than to verify you are the patient. This info was left off my prescription which I had with me. I spent over $600 on 3 pairs of glasses in their office 2 weeks prior and he flat out refused and told me no when I asked for it. I said I don't understand why you couldn't give me this info I have my RX here but it's not in it. I am the patient. He said I won't give you that over the phone you have to physically come into the office for that information. I asked if they could email it instead and he said they don't have access to email?!? When I asked to speak to someone else or a manager, he said he was the office manager and there was no one else I could speak to. He began speaking over me so I started speaking louder than him which did not stop him so I yelled at him to stop to which he began laughing. I said in a normal tone this isn't funny why are you laughing at me and I said that someone had to be over him and he said call back tomorrow and you can talk to my manager while he was still laughing. He also told me he wouldn't give me his managers name at first but did finally provide it. I will not be calling his manager nor ever going back to any Visionworks after this. The sevice is awful, we ask for glasses straps for my son and the worker said, "yeah we have some in stock, go ask the woman at the front desk for some." and so we went and ask the woman and that lazy liar said (in a rude tone). What is with all of these negative reviews? Took my boyfriend for some new glasses. The call to make his appointment was good. It was a pleasant surprise to have her ask if I could come in the next day given his luck with dentist appointments. We came in, it wasn't hard to decipher where to go. There were two ladies at the desk - one was checking him out, one was dealing with an unsatisfied customer. Both were handling things with lots of grace. There was no rush or hassle when he fumbled for his card. She didn't seem annoyed when he asked questions. In all fairness, it was unclear where we were meant to sit and wait, as the first door you enter has all of the glasses and front desks. Walk further into the second waiting room. Overall, the waiting room wasn't that bad. There's a coloring section for kids with coloring sheets and blank paper and crayons. A few tattered magazines. Mostly glasses catalogues. They also have a TV that was playing KET. The wait wasn't extremely long, but we were kind of miffed that his appointment was for 2:00 and he wasn't seen until 2:45. With the pre-exam, the girl doing it was very pleasant and also answered his questions thoroughly. One thing that I noticed that I liked is that no one was trying to upsell anything. They asked if he was being fitted for contacts or renewing his glasses subscription, he mentioned wanting to do both if covered by his insurance. She mentioned that only glasses were, she didn't push him any further. When it came to getting his eyes dilated, she offered that or getting his eyes scanned for an additional cost. He chose the latter. The eye doctor was fun and joking, sweetest lady ever. She happily showed the scans of his eyes. Whenever he came out to pick frames, he wasn't told which row he was allowed to look at for his insurance, he had to walk up to the front desk and ask. Plenty of options for the section you're allotted. The girl checking me out was also sweet. When he requested a copy, she just handed it over. He's still not gotten them yet, but it's not been long enough for him to have received them. 5 out of 5. His favorite eye doctor since his childhood one. read more

This is my 3rd visit and last to this location. Staff is very friendly and helpful, but the wait time is ridiculous. I called ahead for an appointment due to a scratched cornea. I was informed that no appointment was needed and that I would be seen right away because it was considered as a "medical emergency." I arrived with only one person in the store. They were seen before me. Fine. No big deal. But then I'm waiting in a room to be seen and the doctor chose to visit with a new customer and not me. Like I said, this will be my last visit. I will be purchasing my glasses elsewhere. read more

This place is horrible. I was there for over three hours for an eye exam and contact fitting. I was told my insurance would cover everything. Then I was told I would have to pay $59+tax upfront for the contact fitting. I moved money around and said okay. Then at check out I was told I would have to pay the $59+tax AND the copay unless I order contacts. The office staff was disorganized and rude, and the Dr would ask me a question and make me go sit in the waiting room. He would then see other patients. I had an appt for 4, wasn't seen until 4:40- an hour and ten minutes later. During checkout the lady tried to ring me up for glasses, I told her I wasn't getting any. She huffed and rolled her eyes. She then rang me up for a year supply of contacts and I told her no yet again. She huffed, rolled her eyes, and got up. When she came back she dropped all of the paperwork on the floor. She then scheduled a follow up appt for me without asking if I was available. When I told her I wasn't she just stared at me and huffed again. After I paid, I left and will not be returning. read more

If 0 stars was an option, It would be my first choice. Horrible service. The girls up front do not know how to properly enter insurance information. They have told me multiple times that my insurance is not active or doesn't cover things that I confirmed they do cover. Probably, because their turn over rate is higher than McDonald's. They can't get any workers that aren't freshman girls in college. They accept walk ins and put them ahead of people who actually scheduled an appointment. If you plan on going here, go head and make sure you have the whole day free to sit around waiting to be seen..just to give you the wrong exam. The receptionist girls stand around looking puzzled, lost, stuffing their mouths with food while talking to customers, and gossiping about the other workers and the doctors. They struggle to even use the computer system Also, any up to date optometrist would recommend you not get a new prescription until after you're not longer pregnant; they also ignored that Supposed to get a contact fitting, instead got an eye exam that I did not need nor was supposed to receive lol? and couldn't be seen again without waiting another 3 hours; had to reschedule for another day Maybe don't tell someone their appointment is 3 hours before they can actually be seen I better not be hit with a bill for their mistake They stood around giving me looks not knowing how to get rid of me I'm happy to say this is the last of several bad experiences here Caused me to miss a clients appointment and loose a customer I thought I'd have no problem meeting bc who goes to the eye doctor expecting to be there for 3 hours I'll be leaving a review on google to save someone else the wasted time and money I've spent on this place read more

The staff was friendly but unfortunately this office is very poorly managed. I checked my insurance coverage prior to making an appointment and was informed I needed to pay out of pocket for an exam because by the time they got around to seeing us the hours of the helpline for my insurance company were over and they were unable to verify benefits. I have not yet checked to see if they did the work so that I be reimburst...but I'm not expecting them to have kept their word. To get my 5 year old evaluated, prescrption rendered, and glasses ordered took more than 8 hours spread out across three days. This was despite having a set appointment time...which ran hours late (to closing for the end of the day) that necessitated another visit to have to dilate his pupils, and having run out of time yet again (we bring him after school hours), and needing a third day to pick out glasses. It was terrible. In addition to this they ordered our glasses incorrectly in that they did not put a protection plan as I'd asked. My son is 5, after all. I am expecting some mishaps with new glasses. They did end up adding it after the fact...but it was another inconvenient hurdle. After using the protection plan after a mere 2 days my son tripped and broke his glasses yet again -- we were not informed that the plan only covers one pair on the first occasion and only 50% on subsequent occasions. We were never given any written information detailing the rules of said protection plan. While the doc who saw my child was kind, worked quickly despite the management of his office, and discussed the need for a 6 wk follow up for my son I I'm concerned as to whether or not I recieved enough information. He explained that my son's vision was not a "lazy eye" (amblyopia) because his vision could be restored to 20/20 with glasses...but I wasn't told anything about the need for eye patches to correct the presumed imbalance of his muscles causing weakness and poor vision in one eye. I'm not an eye expert by any means...I can Google enough to be dangerous on the subject -- but I am, first and foremost, a worried momma who happens to work in heathcare. I have more than a basic understanding of office management in the heathcare setting. I also work full time and have three other children. I am taking my business elsewhere as I simply don't have the time to have all of my kids cared for in such a slow paced environment when I'm skeptical of whether or not my children have recieved the standard of care. read more

The glasses I bought broke less than six months after buying them, they suggested I use superglue. It was disappointing because they are closer to my house than LensCrafters. I actually wanted a repair not a full replacement. On the plus side they were friendly about not fixing my almost new glasses. They informed me I should have bought the protection plan... So when I buy glasses from another business I may just do that. read more

I recently purchased 2 pair of glasses from this store. I gave my prescription to the receptionist and was promptly greeted by the Emani, the optician, who fitted the frames that I chose. This store had a nice variety of frames, good prices, and great service. I was very pleased with the results. The prescription was accurate and I felt I was sold 2 quality pairs of glasses at a good price. Emani was particularly helpful. She was knowledgeable, pleasant, and efficient. I wish I had something good to say. It makes since why this place is rated so low. Today my wife and I went to our appointment as scheduled. We walked in and my wife wears a mask like she is suppose to. The lady behind the counter was being short with someone on the phone and repeatedly tried to let them know she was putting them on hold to speak to us. I was informed about the mask policy as I always am everywhere I go...however I am medically exempt and protected through the ADA. Most business know the guidelines and try to take the time to understand the ADA requirements. I guess because I'm young and not geriatric people have a hard time understanding. She asked why and if I had anything to prove that in a snarky attitude. I explained to her that I'm a Veteran who has medical complications and that wearing a mask could put me at a greater risk for inner lung infections and other medical issues. She then challenged me and asked me to prove it. Me just trying to get my wife and I through this simple appointment l showed her the genetic Mask Exempt ADA requirements card digitally. She read it and then another lady came from the back and bothered of them were explaining to me how the CDC could come in at any moment because I was not wearing a mask. Then she explained that their store policy requires EVERYONE to wear a mask. I explained to them that I also have a service dog and asking such detailed questions is illegal and they understand that even if they had a no dogs allowed sign because she is a certified service dog she and I have a right to enter her business and be seen. Out of ignorance I suppose they tried to explain to me how that is difference. I explained to them that it is not any different and discrimination and not allowing me to be seen in either case could result in heavy fines for disability discrimination through the ADA. The lady then explained that I would have to have a doctors note so that their doctor in the back could read it and see if he will see me to be seen. All this over 1 individual who is a legitimately a disabled veteran who cannot wear a mask. Instead of having understanding and getting the doctor to come talk to me away from the public they decided to cause a scene in front of others in an attempt to mask shame me and embarrass me making me look like some kind of bad guy. Look I wish I didn't have these problems and I could be normal and wear a mask like everyone else. It would save me a lot of hassle and anxiety but the fact that this store has no understanding of the ADA, no understanding of professionalism allowed me the opportunity to take my business somewhere else. read more

Had an eye exam for my daughter on 8/9. Purchased 2 pair of glasses that were to be ready on 8/16. They were not ready when we went to pick them up. Called next day told they would be ready the next day. Called again and they couldn't tell me when they would be ready. Excuse after excuse. I had an appointment in the morning at 11:30 but couldn't make it, the ladies at the front desk were very nice and helped me reschedule. When I went in all the technicians were very nice, and helped me right away with my prescreening. During the middle of my prescreening Dr. Ward interrupted the technician as she was explaining what she was doing to me. He said he was going to lunch (this was at ~2:45) and then asked me if I would come back between 4 and 4:15. Of course I was thrown off because I was there for an appointment but I said that was fine. I then arrived back at ~4:05 and the technicians embarrassingly told me that he had not left for lunch yet. I went to sit in the waiting room, Dr. Ward then came up to me and said he hadn't left for lunch yet and would be back in 45 min. At that point I was VERY UPSET with how unprofessional of a doctor he was, I told him that I was upset and no longer wanted to meet with him. That is when I made the decision to leave. I walked to the front desk to tell them I was leaving because I was very disappointed with how he treated me as a patient. They apologized over and over again and I honestly felt bad because it was not their fault that Dr. Ward acted to unprofessionally. He then proceeded to come up to the front desk very frustrated and said that he would meet with me. He grabbed my file and rolled his eyes. That is when I completely got disgusted with him. I told the front desk that I refuse to see him because of how immature and unprofessional he was. I came all the way from louisville, which is a 2 hour drive, to got to this office because they already had all my information. The lady at the front desk, which believe is the manager, was absolutely so kind and set me up with a new doctor for tomorrow. Overall, Vision Works has absolutely great technicians and as long as you don't go on a day that Dr. Ward is working you'll have a great experience. read more

I had to make an emergency last-minute appointment for my eye (not emergency room serious but extremely uncomfortable) and this was the only place that was open at 6:30 on a Friday evening. Walmart Vision Center was booked up all weekend. This place got me in and the optometrist figured out what was wrong quickly and got me a prescription, all at less cost than Urgent Care, and UC likely couldn't have identified what was wrong. The staff was friendly and accommodating - I would have had to be in pain all weekend, but they really helped me out. I'm grateful! read more

Where to even start... I hated this place so much I downloaded Yelp and Google reviews just to tell you how awful this place is. Terrible customer service, probably the most lazy people I have ever met in my life and not to mention, they're all ghetto. The doctor was great but I know he isn't affiliated with the company. Not only did I have to wait about 2 hours just for a 5 minute eye exam (even after I scheduled an appointment), but they also walk around like pack mules knowing farewell that there are many people need to be seen. The idiot who helped me order my glasses pretty much threw on every unreasonable fee he could and my glasses were going to cost me like $200 with my insurance already added into that. (At Walmart they're usually 2 pairs for under $100). And he talked so ghetto it was like listening to Chief Keef rap. My glasses were supposed to be ready in 7 days, they didn't come in till day 10 which I had to come back twice that day because they weren't ready. Once my glasses came in, they're crap material, flimsy, and the case it came in is more useless than wrapping my glasses in a paper towel as protection. Complete waste of time, money, and a complete let down. Absolutely terrible experience. Maybe if they charged less for such bad product and hired educated workers, I wouldn't have to write such a hateful review. Never going to recommend this place. Ever. You'd find better people and better glasses at the dollar store. read more
