Why does it matter who fills out something online? Then I was told they needed the mothers license even though I am the one bringing her in. The requirements change even though the mother has told them every time that its ok for me to bring her. This time I was told that the mother has to come in and fill out a form. You are not allowed to take the form with you. If the mother could come in then I wouldn't be bringing. I had made an appointment online. When I got there we were told it was an hour and a half wait. When I asked about our appointment we were told it isn't really an appointment its just a hold. But if we were late for the appointment then we would not have a hold. The real reason for the wait that day was because they only had one PA working. If they had told me that then it would have made sense. So go to First Care if you want just dont expect to get through the door. I take my granddaughter to the doctor anytime she is sick. I don't get treated like that at any of the other places. Beware.

We checked in with about 10 other people. Their process was streamlined and efficient. We were in a room in 1/2 hour. All personal were great but a special shout out to Dr. Smith. I have never seen a doctor with such wonderful manners and concern and compassion. He was funny and had my mom at ease immediately. We both loved him. He walked us to the exit door. Clay Regional Medical Center), is a 105-bed, acute care healthcare provider primarily serving Madison, Estill, Garrard, Jackson and Lee counties. I'm so old it was definitely Pattie A. Clay when I was there on numerous occasions. Back when it opened to people that live in the vicinity this was called the "new hospital". That's because the other was really old, tiny and outdated. Thank goodness this is a University town. They need the population to serve or it never would have been built. I always did have the feeling I couldn't wait to get out of this hospital alive. The same with my immediate family when they were admitted. From the Yelp reviews things haven't improved. Thank goodness no one I know has been admitted recently. My Kentucky family usually dies from old age! The hospital is conveniently located near the interstate highway. It's near the bypass so family and friends have hotels, food, and big box stores close by. Eastern Kentucky University is (in my opinion) the life blood of Richmond. There's definitely a need for assistance with all areas of health care throughout Eastern Kentucky. Some things never change. I can't even imagine what it's like now during Covid. I'm glad I don't live there anymore. I do miss my family and friends though. I guess they'll have to visit me in NYC! Until then, I would stay out of the hospital!

I recently went in to see a provider on a Thursday end of day and was prescribed a medicine that…read moreafter some research, I was not comfortable taking. When I called the office first thing the next morning (August 14th, 2026) as well as two other times that day trying to talk to a provider to get a different medication, no one ever called me back. At the end of the day, it turned out the provider called my pharmacy prescribing the same medicine that I had been prescribed the day before!! It was as if no one had paid attention to what I had described to the woman answering the phones that Friday. From the beginning it was obvious in how she spoke to me that this woman wasn't very interested in providing detailed messages to the provider. Instead, she was more concerned about getting off the phone, while in the background I heard several women talking and laughing and being very loud. It is very possible that the ball was dropped when providing communication to the provider. But the provider should have at the very least checked the file before prescribing the very same medication. In addition, I should have been given a phone call to verify what I needed. Usually when I have gone in to Concentra in the past, I have seen Dr. Sheela and she has always been great. However this recent experience with staff, and the other provider working that day, has made me never want to go back there. Their lack of detail, lack of professionalism, and leaving me without the care I needed was a detriment to my health. I went elsewhere that weekend to get the correct medication I needed. I will never go back to Concentra.
