I ordered some contacts and I got a new type of contact that protects from the sun. Staff has two girls that are very prroffesional and courteous that always great you with a big smile. Location is centrally located in Pinecreasttright off South Dixie Hgway and acres from the Falls shopping Mall. Staff in store is friendly and welcoming, but main reason AI visit this location is due to Dr Paine my Optomatrisw. Skilled and professional allays gets my prescription right. Their policies are ridiculous I was going to place an order for contacts in store for $200+ and I wasn't even able to get temporary contacts while I waited for my order to be received. The customer service here is horrible. I spoke with the store manager and it was worst. Now I see why the rest of the staff give attitude to customers. I did like Dr Payne, he was very knowledgeable and kind, unlike the rest of the staff. Be careful when you make a purchase there because I was charged different amounts from what was quoted on the day of my visit and for this reason I had to speak with the general store manager. I had a terrible experience in this place and I'm never going back! I have a very high prescription and they still did a vision field test without my contacts - complete waste of time. My prescription had been stable for the last two years and somehow the eye exam found something completely different... And to top it all off, when I went to get my trials, they offered me a pair with a completely different prescription because they didn't have my exact prescription in stock, without any regard for potential headaches or other issues... I don't trust what was done at all and I'm going to get my exam done again with a different doctor. Please save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. read more

NEVER AGAIN. My dad called last week to schedule an appointment for a preliminary eye exam at 9AM. Staff advised him that the time was available, and he would be the first one seen. Fast forward to today, we get to Visionworks and they advise us that the doctor won't be in until 10AM... Let me repeat that one more time for the people in the back... 10AM. That's an entire hour wasted that I didn't have to give, and to make matters worse even though he was the first person at the office he was the second patient one seen! This will be the last time I will have my dad come here. They were completely unprofessional, they didn't respect us or our time. read more

This was a great experience. I was taken in immediately and within an hour and a half I got my exam finished including eye dilation and had chosen and paid for my frames which will be ready tomorrow after 4p! Marta was Fantastic! And there was a vast selection of affordable frames. Dr Payne was very helpful in getting me to understand why words jump around when I read now. Extremely expensive. If you need bifocals, progressives, transition and anti-glare lenses you will pay $800+ for one pair of glasses. Or you can buy the same thing online for $150-175. Your choice. I'm all for supporting local businesses but this price difference is abusive. That said, they were pleasant, accommodating and helpful. If money is no object or if you are one of those people that like paying top dollar for your purchases because "you get what you pay for", then this place is for you. read more

Dr. Payne was wonderful. However, the Visionworks staff worked with me and my insurance for an hour and a half and gave me 3 different quotes on the same pair of glasses. In the end I was told that they didn't know so would need to call my insurance a 4th time and that they were closing so they would call me the next day. I'm going some place else now. read more

I called around 10am to 1. Make sure they take walk-ins and 2. Make sure they take my insurance. Was told yes to both. After arriving, filling out paperwork and waiting for a while I was told my copay was $50 and that they DIDNT take my insurance. I realize that since I'm a walk in that their would be a wait, but to be there for close to an hour only to be told my copay is 5x what I would pay at a participating company is ridiculous. Would've saved myself time and aggravation had I been given correct information to begin with and go somewhere that takes my insurance. Was offered $25 off but that was just off the aforementioned $50 copay ( not including all the other "tests" the dr recommends that they try to upsell you on... $15 for this, $35 for that). I get it...were all human , mistakes happen but at the very least the owner/dr could've honored my original copay amount instead of losing a customer and wasting my time and their time in the process... read more

Worst establishment ever! Dr Payne apparently purchased my entire family's medical records from Dr. Smith when he retired/left visionworks in town and country. Dr. Giurratto is still there and continues to see us all. This morning I received a very disturbing text message and voicemail from Dr Payne's office saying it was time for my sons's office visit (which it's not by the way). My son has never been to the visionworks on us1 and 136 nor has he ever been seen by Dr. Payne. Upon calling our actual Dr. I was informed that Dr. Smith and Associates had sold our medical records to Dr. Payne. Now Dr. G doesn't have our records and this other company that bought them wants to sell them to me. I have never heard of something so ridiculous. No one answers the phone at the number they give you to call (727-361-0431). That is supposedly their corporate office yet the company is closed? Can you explain that. I actually drove to Dr. Payne's office only to be told he is off today. The girls at the desk were able to connect me with Josephjne at corporate office. Not only was Josephine attitude horrible but she didn't help one bit. She said I could go online fill out forms then mail them to her office with a check if I wanted our records all while repeating several times that this is part of Florida law. read more

This vision works is the worse I've seen yet. On my 3rd visit as they keep getting my prescription wrong. Awful customer service. When I first came in, the lady kept telling me "5 more minutes" for half an hour. My glasses were supposed to be ready in 4-7 days, but have taken much longer. When you're paying a lot of money for glasses and they tell you they'll be ready in a week...it is absurd that two weeks go by and they're still not ready. Then when I finally got them, they were scratched from how they cut the lenses. Long story short it took me four visits to get my glasses with pretty awful customer service. read more

Unfortunately I didn't notice this establishment only had 2 stars prior to my order, but now I understand why. My daughter placed her order June 18th and was wrongly double charged. The refund process took forever and we didn't receive it back until July 2nd. This was only received upon multiple calls and even going in person to figure out the problem. Now we come to find out that the entire order was lost!! My daughter received an email saying her order was processing and the glasses would be ready soon, when in reality the order was never placed. Today, July 8th, they informed us they don't even have the frame. This is ridiculous. My daughter was only here for a small period of time as she go to school in Tallahassee. Now, three weeks later, she has to go back home empty handed. We would've cancelled the order immediately had we known but now it's simply to late for us to start a new order somewhere else. I'll have to ship these glasses to her, whenever they're ready which will take another two weeks, and hope they fit properly. I'm truly horrified by this terrible service and we will not be returning to this VisionWorks ever again. read more

I've been around many optometrist always abiding with the lowest prices because to be frank when it comes to any hinderance with vision it's super simple; You get a check up and you get either frames or lens. Whoever has the best deal I go with them, I recently moved to cutler bay 3 years ago and I have been coming to this location in Palmetto Bay next to us1 since then. I've bought 3 frames and 2 separate pairs of lens (6 months each) and to this day I genuinely enjoy going back. You're always welcomed with authenticity and kindness. Not in a transparent professional manner but a genuine salute, which is pretty cool. The doctor of this clinic is awesome, he's approachable and his work ethic speaks for him in volumes.
