I wrote a review a couple years ago, and I would like to add today's review about this amazing optometric practice. Yesterday I accidentally got makeup toner in my eye and it stung like crazy. I used eye drops, then Lumify to get the red out, then more eye drops, ad infinitum. I called to see if the doctor should see me. He had already left, but the front desk person contacted him and told me he would call me back. He did, and after I explained the situation, he told me to keep my eye irrigated with a buffered solution and to call him in the morning if I was not better. I called this morning to be seen, and he fit me in and checked my eye. Fortunately, I did not do any damage. I thanked him for squeezing me in, for even calling me back after he had left the office yesterday, and for the compassionate front desk people he has. He said he is lucky to have him. Great doctors. The 1 star is for the woman who fitted my child for contacts. She had long fingernails and placed the contact lens on her nail. She then proceeded to place it on my child's eye. She did not wash her hands before hand so I was alarmed by the poor hygiene. Why would anyone want a long fingernail in their eyes? Of course my child was mortified and will not go back. The woman attempted to place the contacts on my child's eyes but it wasn't successful so we walked out with red, irritated eyes. I love the doctors but if they want their staff to place contacts on patients they shouldn't have long fingernails! read more

I had a HORRIBLE experience with dr. schneider. I was told to see him because of his kind demeanor and he demonstrated the exact opposite. I came in expressing anxiety around the eye doctor and he completely belittled me and made extremely inappropriate comments. He had no patience, was very rude, and I will never go back to this doctor. On my way out, the staff and doctor made a point to laugh at me. I came to Schneider Eye Center because of a friend's great recommendation. I originally intended to go back to Bascom Palmer, where I had a successful PRK procedure (similar to LASIK) and follow-up appointments. However, I found it difficult to make an appointment for a regular eye exam there, and it was way too expensive for a regular visit. I called Schneider Eye Center on Thursday and was able to make an appointment for Monday. What a pleasant surprise! The person I spoke with on the phone was very nice and accommodating, which was a great start. On Friday, the office called me to confirm, and on Monday my visit rolled around. I found the office very easily, right past Sunset Place on Red Road, in a one-story brick building with parking lot in the rear. I was seen almost immediately upon entering, which was wonderful. I was seen by Dr. Brett Schneider, the son of Dr. Lloyd Schneider, and he was professional and friendly. I liked that he walked me through each step of the eye exam (not that I needed that, since I have been to the eye doctor every year of my life!). My appointment was just a regular checkup, and everything was done that I typically have done at the eye doctor. At the end, he took a photo of my eye and dealt very well with my many questions about what everything in the image was! I found that part very interesting. The one thing I didn't like was that I had filled out a form online (you can also fill it out at your appointment) to identify the various eye issues that I have, and it was clear that the doctor had not looked at the form before seeing me. I like when doctors know what's going on with you right at the beginning. Other than that, everything was fine. I was in and out in 30 minutes, which was absolutely amazing. My eyes were dilated so I stumbled out into the brightness of the day and made my way home. I was very happy with the service there, and also made a note of the cute accessories they sell --for the glasses-wearers in my life :) read more

I was completely shocked that both front desk receptionists were wearing see thru mesh masks (imagine 2 layers of tulle), it was the most unprofessional and unsafe mask option I have ever seen. Picture lace panties as masks... They do require everyone coming in to wear masks, and provide plenty of hand sanitizer, but those ridiculous masks were an insult to all the patient's safety. A lady two masks, but NO GLOVES, came over to put some drops on my eyes, grabbed my lids open, and proceeded to use two dropper bottles that were already opened, so I had no way of knowing if they were used on previous patients or not, this worried me because she touched my lids with the dropper... As soon as the previous patient left, I was ushered into the examination room ( no time for any disinfection of exam machines!) The Doctor was wearing two masks, but when I was being examined I noticed that the machines had oily forehead marks from previous patients, and I quickly realized that none had been sterilized in between, they even had a dirty odor, I was horrified. There were no disposable covers on any of the chin or forehead rests, which is already unsanitary in regular times, but in times of Covid, it is criminal!!! The doctor was lovely, but the lack of higiene will keep me away from that office! It is a pitty because the doctor was lovely and a sweetheart.... I really hope they get the staff trained properly, and correct their lack of disinfection procedures....until then, I just have to pray I did not get Covid from that office!!! read more

Outstanding service and great knowledgeable staff. Doctor Brett Schneider Is fantastic.

I believe this doctor has reasonable diagnostic skills. BUT there's something else going on that's not okay. When I explained that I'd had a bad reaction to cortizone eye drops, the older Schneider told me that wasn't possible. After a discussion he reluctantly prescribed a non-steroid eye drop that cost over $300. The pharmacist explained that the doctor had prescribed an unusual 4-month dosage, which jacked up the price. A 3-month dosage would be entirely covered by insurance. When I went back to Schneider's office to request a new prescription, the son became enraged, said "I don't give a fuck what insurance you have." This was in a crowded waiting room. I can't explain this except to say it's not a good look for an optometrist. Open Payments shows both father and son being wined and dined by pharmaceutical companies. I don't know if there's any connection, but I have not had this problem with other eye doctors. read more

I can't believe I have not reviewed these wonderful optometristd sooner. I have been coming to Schneider Eye Center for about 6 years. Dr. Lloyd Schneider has helped me with two very serious eye issues. He took his time, examined my eyes, and then gave me the proper dosages of medication to help with the inflammation. I got better in 24 hours. Dr. Lloyd Schneider and his son Brett, are both very good. Lately I have been seeing Dr. Brett Schneider for my eye exam and has always been very nice and detailed. They recently saw my husband as well and discovered an issue that he needed to get checked out by a macular specialist. Thanks to them he has been on the road to recovery but without them, he would have never known. Their staff Mari and the other ladies in the front are always so nice and helpful.
