If you value fashion and prescription lenses, as I do, then look no further than I Designs....very often one has to choose between their optometrist (prescription lenses but no sense of style or fashion) OR their optician (style but sacrificing one's prescription accuracy by using their "in house" lab)....you get both here at I Designs. I had put off purchasing a new pair of everyday glasses for a couple of years but decided now was the time to finally do so. I was drawn to I Designs since they are an authorized dealer for Lindberg frames. They special ordered a pair they do not normally stock in a couple of different sizes to see which one fit my face best. We also matched the frames with lenses from Hoya, which is arguably the best lense manufacturer in the world though you pay a premium for their lenses as well. Within 10 days I had my new glasses and am extremely happy.....contrast that with the "service" I received at another, less expensive, and in network provider (the optician kept on calling me "dear" during the eye exam and when I did not proceed with a purchase of new frames afterwards on the spot I got a "whatever" out of her). Bottom line, when it comes to my teeth and eyes I will pay more for high quality and that is exactly what you will get at this boutique shop. When you walk in, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Dr. Erika Pardinas was the one who saw me, and while she was polite, she was clearly in a rush to leave that day. In her haste, she rushed through the exam and ended up writing the wrong prescription for my contacts. With her rushed and careless evaluation, I was then assisted by the staff to order the contacts -- based entirely on her prescription. No one mentioned that there was a strict 60-day return policy. Not verbally. Not in writing. Not in a follow-up email. Nothing. So when I came back to report that the contacts were wrong and unusable, suddenly the friendly smiles were gone and I was met with stone-cold indifference. Let's be honest -- this is on them. Dr. Erika Pardinas gave the wrong prescription. Their team helped place the order. And their failure to inform me of the return policy was their responsibility. At the very least, they should have taken accountability and eaten the cost of the mistake. Instead, they blamed me -- the patient -- and made it clear they weren't interested in making it right. If you're thinking about trusting this place with your vision, don't. I'm particular about my eyes, because I am pre-disposed to glaucoma due to some family conditions, so I always want to make sure I'm tested correctly to make sure my eye pressure is fine. I also mentioned that my eyes feel strained easily, and I don't often wear my glasses like I am supposed to when using my laptop (which is, every.single.day). Turns out the glasses I was using were a bit too heavy on the prescription and didn't have anti-glare. Carlos out front helped me pick my glasses and I opted for a Serafina pair which fit into my VSP credit even with the lenses! He was super helpful as I perused thru their options. Plus, when I went to go pay I noticed a $10 off credit when you check-in on Yelp. How cool is that? I went on a Wednesday, and my glasses were ready for pick up on a Tuesday.
