As I am still non weight bearing on my new ankle, I am utilizing an iWalk 3.0, at the suggestion of the Physical Therapy team, which allows me to climb up and down the 16 stairs I have at my residence entryway which I was very concerned about. The knowledgeable PT and OT team here is superlative and I would highly recommend this facility and their entire staff for anyone rehabbing post-surgery. I couldn't be more pleased with my visit here. They all care about you and it shows.

The employees in admissions at this place acted like the genuinely cared and wanted to help! I went to take a tour and spoke with a few employees who all gave me some advice to get my dad out quicker from the other place. Needless to say I was stressed and wanted to get my dad moved and so I followed the advice. Well it was horrible advice that made my dad lose his insurance approval for any place! I left messages, emails for both the ladies that gave me advice and also copied upper management into the emails to ask for additional advice since I listened to them. I guess I should not be surprised they went radio silent and I haven't heard back from anyone. I honestly would have been ok with just an apology!!!!!

Dr. Cade visited with us as a family, to talk about Stan's medical issues and explain their services. A nurse came to visit with him every few months and was available to answer any questions we had. When the team at TruCare found out that Stan loved dogs, they found a therapy dog to come visit. When Stan entered hospice care, he continued with the TruCare hospice team at Longmont United Hospital. The staff and volunteers were wonderful and provided excellent care and support to our whole family.

I walked in his room and a very sweet lady was holding his hand(s) and talking to kindly to him. I witnessed this while he was there. He enjoyed that! Soon I met the whole team. My first time there was so amazing, I told the doctor that if I every need to be in hospice away from home - I want to come there ! All the nurses/whole care team were kind and very experienced. My husband even had a mountain view! Daily they kept me up to date on everything, with loving compassion. He had a death doula a day or two before he passed. His last night on earth, he had the most beautiful woman (inside and out) who did a calming, relaxing Comfort Touch session. He was able to let go a few hours later. I was there in the room. It comforted me to ring the Himalayan salt bell or chime, as his body was wheeled out. I can't thank Tru Hospice enough for their kind, expert and compassionate care. Nancy Dutton 2. Early 2026 I started attending the Widows, Loss of Spouse Group at True Hospice in Lafayette. This became a haven for me, still is, being with other people who lost their spouse. We all understand what each other is going through. I will continue attending for a long time. The facilitators are so kind, gently guiding us as a group. I don't want to miss a group, it's so important to my well being. A big sigh for the help and relief I have received! Two other friends have attended this group. 3. Beaded Memories Class - A Life Changer for me was my First Beaded Memories Class in Februrary 2026. I was kind of lost or unsure of my future. Facilitataors compassionate and very helpful in creative activities. Other people and I arrived tired, sad - by the end of making our photo boxes with beads and pictures to store our memories, we were all smiling and happy ! We didn't want to leave the room. I discovered this class sparked and restored a part of me that was missing during the years of caregiving. It was so good to get back that creative, joyful part of me. I felt and still feel great hope and more direction in my future. Another friend now attends this class every time she can. I have attended 4 classes, each with a different craft to honor my loved one. Thank you for making this a year-round class of hope and joy. 4. Sound Healing class - I have attended and gained peace around the loss of my husband since starting these classes once a month in 2026. The teacher is so loving - love emanates from every cell of her body. She offers a wide range of sounds, plus her presence is beautiful inside and out. I go home calm and able to rest - removes restlessness I feel since my husband passed. 5. Mindful Meditation - I have been able to attend once in 2026. Very calming, and I went home with relaxation to sleep better. I have done a lot of mindful meditation for years on my own to help with anxiety of Loved One's health issues and then death, but will attend more in the future. 5. I am so grateful that the founders started this amazing organization Tru Hospice, which has made a huge difference in my grief journey ! I tell everyone about Tru Hospice, what they offer and how they have helped me. What I learn and feel in these classes pervades my life every day now. Such a relief! Yes, there's an ongoing journey still, but I look forward to the assistance these groups offer each time. 6. Also grateful for the generous sessions with Joan Hummel - we had a compassionate connection, fun and loving. She made a big difference in my grief journey. I will always have a warm spot in my heart for Joan. Her last session affected me for life - with my picking out of different hearts that reminded me of him! 7. A friend and I attended the annual ceremony honoring our loved ones passing at the Unity Church. We brought pictures and enjoyed all the heart-touching stories we heard. She keeps my cousin, who relays the information, apprised of everything pertaining the care! Crystal communicates any changes, concerns or possible adjustments in her care. She even brought Nancy treats to help her gain weight when it dropped. This includes the well being, behavior, health, behavior, interests and activity of Aunt. She even plays silly games and has fun with he, adapting as Nancy advances in her dementia! It was terrifying putting Nancy in a nursing home, but Boulder Canyon has been the ideal place for her! Because of Crystal, we never worry about her. We know that she is receiving the best care possible! She quickly became happy there, but not at the very first. The nurse even coordinates with Crystal to provide regular status reports, as well!

My mother and I are truly blessed to have found this facility! I can sing the praises of their Life Engagement Coordinator, Crystal Caprio! She is the reason that I trust that the facility always has my mother's best interest at heart. Upon my unannounced visits, I have found her to be a ray of sunshine in a difficult situation. The staff on the wing is wonderful and notifies me of any situations that they want me to know about, even if she gets a bruise from bumping her arm! They are patient, caring and kind. Crystal regularly makes sure that I am informed of my mothers health, care, changes, decisions, attitude, activities, diet issues and mood! The Business Office, for the last few years has been a nightmare to work with. However, there is a new Business Office Manager and I have real hope that the office will improve it's communication.

I've worked in the field for 8 years ( so as you can imagine, I've had training and experience in several facilities) This place was absolutely draining, on all levels. The façade of a beautiful building, and well lit gardens, and exceptional " Care provided to the residents" is absolute delusion. I have watched our team, my residents whom I provide care to, and my own well being turn completely downhill, which is why I feel the need to speak on this. Management and HR are not friendly, or welcoming or empathetic towards care staff at all, instead they are rude and entitled and walk the building with nothing but a higher demeanor, than those who actually provide care to these residents and work extremely hard on the floor providing care, and respect and constant interaction to these residents. I have not had a single, welcoming or open minded- conversation with any management since our previous HR has left the building. I have instead ran into conversations where those who do their jobs, and do an amazing job at it, are consistently belittled by HR and management. Yet, those who are lazy but favorited by management are constantly allowed passes for behaviors and LACK of care to these residents. The job itself is stressful, yes. But we all get into this field even as Caregivers to do our jobs and do the best we can. We also have lives outside of work environments, and some harder than others. This is where survival mode and flight of fight play a role- but to those that show up everyday and WORK THE FLOOR- we are discarded and picked apart -daily, but also while being extremely understaffed and drained ourselves. Yet still- NO support from our HR or ED or management as a whole. I have never felt so out of touch with a work environment claiming to do so much good for these residents- meanwhile disregarding and completely out of touch with their employees whom actually work with these residents and are the ones providing care. Pay compensation and expectations are not lined up at all. all this goes to say- Please DO BETTER, for our residents, for your care staff. for OURSELVES. No job should be or feel this draining on every level.

First, I am a nurse educator with a master's degree in nursing. Second, I reviewed Colorado's State Licensure discipline made against Gardens on Quail. LICENSURE DISCIPLINE: On 3/19/23, Gardens on Quail's license was disciplined for what the state of Colorado labeled "Physical Abuse". An older woman was found tied to her wheelchair which is against the law. Allow me to explain WHY these sort of events happen: when a facility is understaffed and aides are overworked, they were simply trying to keep their patient safe. FAILURE TO MAINTAIN POWER BACK-UP Other problems: a few weeks ago the facility had a power outage and their emergency power generator did not work. When the heaters stopped working, my dad got cold, so he pressed his call light. It was not working either! While trying to seek help, he went into the dark and uninhabited hallway, fell, and laid there for an undisclosed period of time. IT IS A STATE REQUIREMENT THAT MEDICAL FACILITIES MAINTAIN BACK-UP POWER. I asked three staff members if my dad had his walker or wheelchair with him when he was lying on the floor in the dark hallway and no one seemed to know any details, nor did they get back to me. INSUFFICIENTLY TRAINED NURSE AIDES (called QMAPS) If your loved one resides here, PLEASE, TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO CLOSELY SUPERVISE MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION because it is being performed by nurse aides who underwent a short med training program. My dad kept getting repeat eye infections. He then revealed the aide was violating infection control practices by touching the eye dropper to his eye. The nurse aide also did not know how to properly administer eye drops because they mixed two different types of drops, instead of waiting between the different prescriptions. This could potentially make eye drops ineffective.

They are very responsive and my mother and our family have been pleased with each and every caregiver that has been sent to their home. It's like a mini family. I am blind and have a crippled foot; my husband was having total knee replacement surgery. She came to our home for 2 weeks at 5 hours per week and did meal prep, light housekeeping as we had requested. It should be noted that Skilled Nursing was not required pre-operative. The next 4 weeks leading up to knee surgery, she assigned 2 women who were not able to do the job. Post operative care was non-existent. Kaitlyn told us we were asking for too much...She wanted us to have one-on-one interaction in the same room with the caregivers. I am severely immunocompromised! They charged us 300 dollars for a sign up fee and haven't "found" another caregiver for us because it's "too hard" for them and they don't want to "burn out " their caregivers. They also promised rides to the doctor's office during the caregiver's duty hours, but, when I asked for a ride to an appointment, Kaitlyn said the caregiver doesn't have a car. We were not asking for anything unreasonable; masks, social distancing; we did not need lifting, touching or administration of infusions preoperatively. Cook, clean, take you to medical appointments. We were promised a rate of 34 dollars for one patient and discovered that Kaitlyn changed the fee to two patients at 44 dollars an hour. The worst thing was that we had no help for my husband after his surgery! They neither provide dignity nor care.

Caroline, our social worker assigned to us from Dignity, was amazing. She answered questions and checked in regularly. She was an extra, smiling face visiting my mom and sitting with her for company sometimes. George, the Chaplain assigned to us, was someone who worked to know my mom and visit with her and sit with her. He also texted and checked in regularly and his presence with my mom, eased my guilt when I couldn't be there. I'm just so appreciative to everyone at Dignity and the care, and DIGNITY, they provided my mom in her last 8 months. I will miss being in contact with these wonderful, compassionate humans.
