Since my moms passing they owe my mothers estate in excess of $3000. They acknowledge it but have been claiming the Che k would be mailed for the last 90 days while refusing to provide any information for follow up. It's clearly " the checks in the mail" nonsense to keep an elderly person money. I can only imagine how many elderly residence have been over medicated and fleeced by this company. I want to thank Cypress Assisted Living for taking such good care of my father…read more I brought my father to Cypress Assisted Living in early December 2025. Due to a fall, he had deteriorated over the previous six months. He could no longer walk, he lost 40lbs, and he suffered from delirium. When he arrived, we had to put him on hospice care. Within a few days of being in Cypress Assisted Living, he began to improve. It's now been four months since he arrived. He's gained back 20lbs. He hasn't had any delirium since his first few days there and he's "graduated" from hospice. He begins physical therapy this week to get him walking again. So how did this happen? It's very simple. Nellie (owner) has put together a staff that truly cares about the residents. They get dad up in the morning, get him breakfast and let him settle in his day. They have some activities, along with two big screen TVs in the common area. There are electric reclining chairs to accommodate every resident. The pictures you see on their website are 100% accurate. I visit at least once a week and EVERY time I visit him the place looks as beautiful as it does online. It's incredibly clean and has no bad odors. If you don't like what's for breakfast, they'll work with you to get something else. They are there to make the residents comfortable and happy. The owner (Nellie) is a nurse who understands how to treat seniors. Her people work 12-hour shifts. The resident only has to deal with one shift while they're awake, so it limits confusion for them. She keeps the place spotless. I was there and saw her moving the recliners to check that they were swept and mopped underneath. I'm not exaggerating when I say Cypress Assisted Living saved my father's life. During the first few weeks he would ask me, "Where do I go after I leave here?" Now he says he loves it here and doesn't want to leave. I can't wait to get him walking again, as it will make him so happy. Thank you to Nellie and her team for all they've done for our family.

Our mother was in this facility for a little over 2 months and we could not leave soon enough. She…read moreneeded some extra care and the facility stated they could handle but as soon as mom got in the door and they had our money they suggested 'Hospice Care', this way they could have her there and do as little as possible, which is exactly what happened. A few of the girls were caring and knowledgeable (about 3), but others did not know and/or were not properly trained to handle a peg tube, and other, creating some accidents and unneeded stress among other issues! Outsiders even told us that there were better places and to get out as soon as possible. Management made promises and of course they want to get you in the door but buyer beware, once you are in you better be there just about every day to check in or who knows how your loved one will be handled or treated. They keep surveillance cameras for their benefit but won't allow you to have any - wonder why? Oh, they are nice enough and rapidly made changes and kept our monies instead of acting in a more professional manner after saying might give back if another party moved in. Well the other party was in within the day and no monies were refunded. All in all they are one big smiley face that's not so kind with not so well trained staff for the ones really needing the care. There are many other wonderful places that truly care. We know and have found one now with a night and day difference. So if you are considering this place do not be misled by the presentation - Beware!

The facility is micromanaged. Everything is in order on the surface. The place is clean. Some residents are neatly paraded in the front lobby. But the workers are always on edge and there isn't a single smile in that building. The two times I have been there the residents I was there to see, tearfully begged me not to leave them there.

One of the issues they had was with their air conditioning systems and fresh air units not working properly or at all. This issue causes unfavorable health issues. The lack of fresh air and climate control allows for unhealthy temperature conditions and the buildup of mold. We in good faith resolved their issues and prevented the State of Texas to issue fines and closure of facilities. Escamilla Company has yet to receive payment for rendered services that were provided back in the months of August 2018 through October 2018.
