Very disappointed in the end of life care for my mother. Completely failed at determining that my…read moremother was getting closer to end of life, even though she was no longer eating, with little to no bathroom function. She was sleeping 20+ hours a day. Every sign was there that the time was close. I requested she be moved into a full hospice facility because the in home care she received was extremely sparse. 2 days a week for about a half hour per day. They denied her move into a true hospice facility. My mother died a week later with no hospice support. No communication because they were all taking their nice Memorial Day weekends. Assigned a new nurse the day before she passed, after no communication for several days. Then had the audacity to call and offer their condolences over 2 weeks after she died. So angry at Horizon. Only thing they did very well was the music program. The rest was horrible. They should be embarrassed. They don't care about their patients.

They all said someone would call me and no one has bothered to return my call. It is the holiday season and I can hardly make it. I am going to call other facilities to try to get some help for my grief. The rooms were clean. there was no furniture in my brothers room except some hard chairs that were against the wall like a high school dance. He was admitted on the weekend and I didn't see a Doctor until Monday. Then, they told me they were stopping his food. He died that evening. Not much communication. The second shift nurse was very kind and helpful. He was the only person that was open and communicated with me. Thank God for him. I would have been lost. They seemed very caring at the admission interview. I just don't know what happened. .

The nurse staff have certification from 30 years ago and have no skill in modern caretaking or health of other humans. I would not take my dog here to be watched. It started off with a cup of vegetable soup that, with the addition of just the right amount of crumbled up Ritz crackers, warmed my soul to the core. Next came a deliciously prepared grilled baloney sandwich with melted cheese on a toasted brioche bun. This sandwich took me back to my youth, much the way Ego was transported when he ate the ratatouille dish created by Rene in the movie. The masterpiece was made even more amazing by perfectly seasoned, fried shoestring potatoes. The climax to the meal was a masterful rendition of cake and ice cream presented in the form of a heavenly piece of devil's food chocolate cake topped with the creamiest of peanut butter frosting that would make a Reese's peanut butter cup weep. All of this was paired with a scoop of spumoni. An amalgamation of the most delicious chocolate, pistachio and cherry ice cream. The likes of which I have never experienced before. My grandma was released here after have a Quadruple bypass for rehab but instead she got worse. They didn't give her the proper care which resulted and me and my family bumping heads with the staff multiple times and us having to basically do their job on the clock me and my family went up their helping my grandmother til we had to leave. She got a bed sore there, got a bladder infection, her feet swole back up because she wasn't receiving proper therapy or help!! This is a terrible place I wouldn't put my ex's dog in here. -10/10 I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!
