I am just going to say that when a nurse or doctor that deals with an elderly person they know or…read moreshould have been trained to deal with an elderly person when they get loud and try to explain things to the nurse, and if the nurse takes it personal then they need to find another job that does not have any contact with the elderly. My grandmother was trying to tell the home nurse Tracy on how her doctor explained how to rewrap her leg that has diabetic blisters on it and only to use saline solution on it only, but the nurse and the owner Kimberly said the doctor ordered this other type of spray too put on the blisters but that was a lie because I called her doctor and he said he never said such a thing. Then my grandmother was trying to tell the nurse to wrap it loosely cause her legs swell up during the day but the nurse did not listen. Then my grandmother get a call from Kimberly the owner the next day and said she will no longer going to provide any more services to my grandmother because her nurse told her my grandmother was cursing at her nurse to which my grandmother was in alot of pain and was just trying to explain to the nurse how to wrap her leg according to her doctor plus she is hard of hearing and does talk loud because of her hearing, then she told my grandmother she is discharging her as of that day and she contacted my grandmothers doctors office and told them that. I think in order too discharge a patient you need to have the patient to sign a form saying she agrees to be discharged. I have never seen such a place that claims they care for patients so much and understands their wants and needs to which is all lip service as far as I can see and experienced for never again will I let her doctor refer my grandmother to this place again and we will contact Medicare and explain the situation to them and then some. WE are so very disappointed with Beacon to no end and I would suggest people need to look for other in home nursing care company!!!

What a disappointment. This agency came out to assist my 96 yr old uncle 6 months ago and all went…read moreokay. Therefore when he needed a nurse to tend to some wound care on his arms, I naturally felt this agency was the one to call. NOT!. Here's why. They came out w/o contacting me, his POA, as requested. First strike. They just showed up and we had to reschedule. No biggie. Next visit was with a nurse who literally interrogated the home care person I employ with questions that were in my opinion, way out of line. Who are you? Who do you work for? What hours do you work here? How long have you known this man? Then proceeded to "instruct" this poor woman who has no medical background on how to change the bandages. It upset the woman I have caring for his meals and house cleaning in her being so worried that I would expect her to care for wound care! 2nd strike. When I called the owner of Beacon Care...I expressed very calmly and firmly that for her to interrogate this woman was way out of line. For her to show her how to do wound care was also out of line. Owner proceeded to tell me that this is their protocol. I expressed that better protocol would then be to inform the POA that these are the questions and "protocol" that will be asked of anyone who might open the door. This way I could have better prepared this woman for the visit. Owner absolutely refused to accept any iota of accountability in their "protocol" being upsetting to a layperson and insisted that they did nothing wrong. She then said, "I guess you sound as though you no longer want us to come back"....3rd strikeI was so frustrated with her that I simply agreed, acquiesced and contacted another home health care facility to tend to my Uncle. Mc Laren home Health Care...they have been wonderful! I do not recommend Beacon Home Health Care not so much for the reason of their protocol, but much more for the reason that the Owner is unwilling to listen to her clients and accept a modicum of accountability. Rude, condescending, and unwilling to consider that there could be a better way.
