It's my belief that everyone needs someone to talk to sometimes. The hardest part about finding…read moresomeone to talk to is starting the process. It requires some patience these days as therapists are in high demand. The Good The Trauma and Healing foundation has the option to contact them by email. Someone emails you back from the founders address in a timely manner, then you're given a phone number to text. That's cool because I don't care to speak words out loud to people I don't know over the phone if I don't have to. The Bad Someone asked for my name and contact information, then I was asked if I had time to talk so I can be directed to the right person. Understandable. I asked if I could schedule a call for another day and never heard back. That was mid December. The Ugly Almost a month later, I'd completely forgotten I'd contar them in the first place. Miraculously, I got a response with an apology followed by them sharing they'd lost their voice for almost a month. It pissed me off. Not really for me, but for people who may have actually been one conversation away from crisis. You don't do that to people. You don't need your voice to text or email. You don't need your voice to direct people to another contact who can help them. I am ok but what if I weren't? Things happen. Communication is everything. If you care, you make a way. To me, this is inexcusable. This may just be a one off experience. I never spoke to anyone or received therapy. I'm sure there are good people working here. I won't be contacting these people again. I hope they do help other that do.

He is very caring and understanding to where your needs are in recovering your dignity and mental health. The office is always clean and kept up, and very welcoming. I've never had a bad experience, he takes most insurance and makes himself available for you. My over all well-being has improved tremendously physically and mentally. I now have a clear understanding and plan when it comes to recovery. My marriage and quality of life is much better since I have started seeing Richard, and I'm very grateful.

I had a horrible experience with Richard Myatt. I have discussed his conduct with several other…read moreprofessionals and they all agree it was unacceptable. I went to him as a cancer patient dealing with anxiety. Multiple times he recommended supplements for treatment of my cancer and told me not to ask my doctors about them because "they will say they have not been adequately studied, but they have". He also would say that I could sue him for recommending them, but he was going to "do it anyway". Chemo patients should not take supplements without talking to their oncologists, and therapists should not be recommending medical treatment at all - and he clearly knows that. He also told me that I should not proceed with my planned mastectomy until my anxiety was under control because "I'm not your fiancé, but you're about to remove 2 beautiful breasts because you are anxious about your cancer coming back". Telling a patient to not proceed with potentially lifesaving surgery is reckless and irresponsible. I barely got a chance to talk about my feelings because all he wanted to do was push his agenda of supplements. His office is messy and dirty. He responds to texts and his phone rang during our session. He told me many of his patients don't come back after 2 sessions because of the help he is able to provide them. I'm pretty sure that's not the reason.
