When I questioned this, I was told that drip irrigation in a planter of individual plants was not a proper application. No response when I asked them what a "proper application" for drip was in their opinion. They "tried" to fix their mess and were wholly unable to do so. When I had the system removed, we found the reason. Multiple spaghetti lines from one emitter. Surprisingly, all the water was going to the downslope plant and the upslope plants died. Who would have guessed? If you think saving a few dollars over an actual skilled company is worth it, think again.

The previous owner had warned me about it, but didn't know how it could be fixed. Doug and Loren came out, took careful measurements and came up with a plan which preserved the trees, which were near the house. They put in a French drain with a removable grate on the concrete patio as well as 6 separate drains leading from the house. Doug and Loren also gave me advice about how a guttering system could lead into the drains.The crew worked rapidly and took only two days from start to finish. Now my house is actually dry around the base, something which I didn't think was possible. They did a great job and at a very reasonable price. Yeah to Doug & Loren! PS They also won one of the top landscaping awards in the area.

Then on the appointed day, he did not show - we had to call to find out what was happening. Then he called again and asked to delay another 24 hours in the second appointment. When he showed up on his own on the appointed Sunday morning, he wanted to renegotiate - the new price was double. Showing up alone spoke volumes - he was not ready to work. He claimed their was more work than he had priced - that was his theory but he had no explanation as to why he had no workers with him, so even if we had agreed on a price increase, when the work was going to get done was definitely in question. We had the feeling that this was just a bad deal and decided to walk away.

We had a very disappointing experience with S&G Carpet…read more The initial installation was extremely poor, staples and nails and screws were left exposed on the carpet and also thrown on the floor (a safety hazard, especially with small children), debris wasn't cleaned up, and there was even a spill that was not disclosed until we pointed it out. The carpet also had to be redone due to workmanship issues, requiring multiple return visits and extending what should have been a straightforward project into several days. (Install was Monday and was finally properly completed on Thursday) While the company eventually sent a different installer to correct the work (2 more times), the process to get there was frustrating. Communication from management was argumentative and combative at times, to the point that I did not feel comfortable meeting alone and asked my husband to be present. The tone of the interaction was noticeably different in person. We ultimately reached a resolution, but it took far more effort than it should have. After spending nearly $8,000, the level of workmanship, professionalism, and overall experience simply did not reflect the value we were promised. I would strongly recommend closely monitoring any work done and documenting everything if you choose to use this company.
