I have been really happy with our Neurofeedback experience at Vital Brain Health. Within our family, we have been through six or seven rounds across various members. It has truly helped to reduce feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, fear, and impulsivity. I am seeing shifts in maturity and empathy with my children. Struggles at home are reducing and we are enjoying our time together more. Dr. Licata is incredibly knowledgeable and a collaborative partner when it comes to planning my kids care. If you're wondering if you should try neurofeedback, DO IT! Your brain will thank you! My husband did this a few years back to help with memory loss after suffering from a concussion. He couldn't stress enough how much it benefitted him! It helped him recall words again, he was sleeping better and felt a significant difference in his overwhelm. He kept insisting that I try it for my consistent mental rumination and panic attacks. I finally stopped procrastinating and gave it a shot. Full disclosure, I'm a skeptic by nature and question almost everything! I can honestly say that THIS WORKS. My ruminating thoughts and panic attacks have lessened significantly! I am so glad to have discovered Vital Brain Health. The staff is kind, calm, understanding and very professional. Everyone is super nice! They prepare you well on what to expect in getting a QEEG (brain scan) and always make sure you are comfortable. A QEEG is pure data and gives you an honest assessment of how your brain is doing, which relates directly to your mental health. I am a very type A, creative person, business owner, always on the go, but anxiety and worry was something I struggled with. The QEEG showed that my brain was in a practically constant flight-fight mode and this was causing me anxiety, worry, ruminating thoughts, etc. I live out of state, so Vital Brain Health was able to set me up to do the therapy remotely. They were very hands on in helping me figure out how to get set up and it worked very well. The therapy has helped me manage my emotions a lot better. It trains your brain to find states of calm. And the therapy is very easy but at the same time, you have to put effort in to focus. You watch videos that you can choose from a wide assortment across many areas of interest, and you can actually learn stuff, which is a very nice side benefit. It is amazing how it all works and I can really feel the improvement! When I did my mid cycle QEEG, my brain already showed a good level of improvement. I loved my time at Vital Brain Health. I was in a car accident in January and hit my head. I got a concussion which made me have to work 10x harder to think, do daily tasks, and to stay awake. Dr. Radwanski is no longer at vital brain health, so my prior review really no longer applies. I still really love the NUCCA and hope that they bring it back one day. I returned to Vital Health do a brain mapping, and get results for my QEEG. While I was doing the brain mapping, the instructions were not clear and I spent half of the time confused because I couldn't figure out when the testing was supposed to begin. I was told to just sit, but I wasn't explained that my brain mapping was going to begin while I was just sitting in the chair. I spent most the time awaiting for something to happen, or to be given an audio, or some sort of instructions. As a result, I spent the entire time singing to myself in my head and waiting until I realized I was in the middle of the test. I left with a sense of confusion and feelings of frustration. A few days later, I had a discussion about my results. When we discussed my results, I didn't feel good about the program. My therapist who I have been with and my psychiatrist were also a little wary. I don't necessarily think that brain mapping, and brain training should be disregarded. I think that EEG can be useful, but it only measures your activity during the duration of the test itself. There are different ways to achieve the results that you want ie) CBT. I realized that this program was not for me. I appreciate that they reached out to me to try to see if they can clear things up for me which is why I changed my review and added stars. We've done a few months of sessions for my teenage son. We were recommended to try this therapy by our pediatrian at CHLA to combat some anxiety issues. I was a little skeptical at first but love the idea of helping solve issues permanently and without medication. I am no longer skeptical because I've seen big changes - much of the stomach trouble brought on by anxiety issues completely gone and when it does occur the duration is shorter, less painful and less frequent. I've also noticed that without as much anxiety undercurrent he's easier to talk to and this helps socially and around the house. While the process is expensive, it really does work! I've been doing neurofeedback training at Vital Brain Health for a few years now and I can't express enough how life-changing it has been. My focus, task completion, and overall performance have improved tremendously. While I've never been officially diagnosed, turns out I have many ADHD/ADD tendencies. The team at Vital has been incredible in helping me with my sleep, focus, and daily functioning. As a healthy skeptic, I trusted Dr. Licata and his team from the start but understood this wasn't a magic pill; it was going to be a process. What I didn't anticipate was seeing such significant improvement so early on. For example, I used to need the TV or a podcast on to fall asleep. I am so happy that I found Vital Brain Health. I was struggling with ADHD and was seeking any kind of help. I really wanted to SEE what adhd looked like in my brain and so I went in for a brain map and omg... the validation that I felt made me tear up. I started going to Vital Brain due to extreme anxiety. I still haven't finished my brain training but I can really say I have benefited from Dr. Licatta and his team. The brain training is easy and comfortable with some fatigue after but completely tolerable. I noticed within the first two weeks a difference. Unfortunately for me non related to the brain training but to another treatment I had undergone. I developed severe depression. Dr. Licatta and his team were very compassionate and urged me to seek out a second opinion on my mental health and it ended up changing the course of my life for the better. Dr. Licatta had me take a break, spoke to me very compassionately, and clearly, and was part of my team that helped me in my recovery. When it was determined that I could return, I began brain training again. I re-started my treatment and I feel very confident that the brain training is supporting and complementing my mental health journey. As I said, I haven't completed my training but I whole heartedly recommend brain training to anyone who finds themselves with anxiety. So much so that my 10 year old daughter who has autism will begin training soon in hopes to get her off her anxiety medication. read more

I always have a wonderful experience when I go into this office. The staff is absolutely incredible, friendly, personal and caring. They all truly care about you and your well-being. I have been doing neuro feedback for a few months and have noticed so monumental changes. Amazing! This place is such a life saver! My son suffers from ADHD and mood disorders. He was on 3 different medications when we first came to see Dr Licata. After 1 round of neurofeedback therapy he was able to stop taking 2 of them. His anxiety has reduced tremendously and after 2 rounds of treatment, our lives have all changed for the better. My son had been suffering from emotion regulation issues for a few years, often having strong anger outbursts or bouts of anxiety on a regular basis.
