I get my child checked in and I'm waiting near the check in window for her to be called back. The lady look at me funny and is like ok I got your child checked in. So as a busy woman I motion to the door and ask ok so I can go? Now it's not uncommon for me to run my errands or handle other business during these appointments... as soon as I make it to my destination I get a call. Apparently, all of a sudden a parent has to be present. Keep in mind my child is double digits not a toddler! Also, it's not like I'll get to be in the room while the service is done. So basically, the hygienist was uncomfortable doing her job unless I sat in the waiting room? I have no problem waiting for my child, my issue is where I asked the lady at the desk and she looked me dead in my face and told me I can go... only for me to fight through traffic, make it all the way to my destination just to get a call telling me to come back. So I had to fight my way back through traffic AGAIN just to have the appointment rescheduled damn near another month out. I'll have to schedule time to waste more time like I did with nothing to show for it! As a divorced mother of 4 with many different obligations and responsibilities I wasn't the least bit amused! I guess the random lady that came from nowhere must've been the hygienist. I'm literally fighting back tears trying to get my bearings and push on. This lady literally stops me in my tracks to say some crap and I could tell she was trying to be funny. "Sweet "in the manner of words but smug and crappy in intent. I mean my eyes are turning circles in my head trying leave silently and not cause a commotion. I didn't want my children witness me being distasteful. I really try to handle things with tact and grace. I guess she was trying to be funny after they all wasted my time and played in my face and over my time!!!! Like ma'am please let me go now. This isn't the time for you to try to be funny after you played a part in wasting my time, my gas, and costing me money (cause I had a full day of work). This isn't the first time it's been some bs with this place. (Joke's on me for giving the benefit of the doubt) Last time they cancelled my child's appointment on the Day of and gave me some bs excuse as to why they couldn't complete a service and they referred me to another office. The referral wasn't even a credible one cause it was for children with autism (again wasn't sure if they were trying to be funny or not). It was the only place they referred and I didn't even get a list... I'm not sure, maybe I've offended someone or something cause baby when I tell you these folks played! They played.

Don't use this office because if she ever makes a mistake she will dismiss you for her mistake. My children have been going to her for years and the first time she makes a mistake she blames me the parent! Me and my child are both traumatized and he hasn't ate since yesterday! She is very unprofessional and needs to be dismissed from practicing since she doesn't even know how to pull teeth out when they're not ready! Now he has a huge gash in his gums and may need future dental work because of this! If I could t wiggle it out I would've left it alone and gave it time, instead knowing it was deeply rooted she ripped his gums and gave me numbing gel, a bag of gauze, tissue, and q-tips after the fact and then had the audacity to blame me when I didn't yell, curse, or anything and stayed calm! You ought to be ashamed of yourself Dr. K and I know you knew you messed up when your voice started shaking along with your hands once you saw what you had done! Instead of following up to check on him you do what you did! I'm coming after your license because no child or parent should have to experience this kind of unprofessionalism and blame!

I left this office today fuming and wishing I had said more. My FIVE year old son who is afraid of…read moreheights hesitated to sit in the chair today. He wasn't hysterical, but upset. The assistant didn't offer any reassuring words to him or try to help me console him or try to convince him to sit. It wasn't a minute before the dentist came out. My son laid back in the chair while the dentist checked on him. He poked around at teeth and asked my son if it hurt. When he replied "yes" Dr Brown shook his head no and rolled his eyes. Dr Brown didn't speak to my son. He didn't try to interact with him or make him more comfortable. My son has a cavity. Dr Brown then told me, "You have three options. You can ignore it and wait until he has to go to the hospital to be sedated and operated on, you can find someone who will restrain him, or you can get a second opinion. Plenty of five year olds sit in this chair to get their teeth cleaned and they're fine." I wanted details of what needed to be done with his tooth but he kept interrupting me to give me the same three options. Dr Brown, you are a PEDIATRIC dentist. You had no patients in that room other than my son who you couldn't muster any patience for. He didn't throw a fit. He was scared and you didn't say a word to him. Instead, you belittled me and my kid while all your assistants came out and stared at us. I don't want my child scarred from dentistry because you lack compassion and patience so I will never come back here again. But I'll share my story and warn others.

She didn't want to schedule my kids on the same day, even after I explained that we live 1 hour away one way. She then proceeds to ask me "Why would you do that? Is there not a closer provider?" Weird I thought but I answered - "We choose to patronize Dr. Faria because of our similar cultural backgrounds and her amazing service. Who wouldn't want a provider they could trust?" Pam then huffs and reluctantly books the appointment. Fast forward 3 months, and its time for regular cleaning. Again, we get Pam, who says they want to split the children up - again. Again - we explain why we would prefer not to. She then says "It'll be a long wait", as to deter us. I reply " I waited from 7:45am until 12 noon the last time, no problems". Pam then says "That's not possible we leave for lunch". To which I reply, "Yes it is and you walked out with me Pam and commented on how 'well behaved' my children were. You know first hand we arrived before your staff and left with you. It's not a problem. I don't want to make a 2 hour round trip drive for no reason, pick a day when they can be together. I don't mind waiting or going a little further out on the schedule". Again she reluctantly obliges. Now we are months later, I go to schedule a regular cleaning - it's Pam again, as I need multiple appointments on the same day I have deduced - I will always be transferred to her. She makes her same comments as usual, but this time she adds, "Why don't you see someone closer?" AGAIN. My reply: Would you like me to do that Pam and change providers? She doesn't respond but the audible huffs and groans are noticeable even over the phone. She calls me by my first name, and as we are not friends and she is actively rude I correct her and give her my title and last name. She is really irritated by sibling groups being scheduled together, and educated independent parents I assume. She gives us the appointment and we arrive on time, as usual this week. Pam calls my daughter 3yo Evyr pronounced "Eh-vur", "Every", for our duration there and was very brusque in the xray process. Evyr doesn't speak English yet, and as she couldn't process Pam's commands: Pam just physically giggled the xray tool while Evyr was biting down on it to get her to release it, instead of allowing me to translate. It was visibly not comfortable for my baby. She was also disturbed by my presence based on our calls and it was notable. My issue is that when Dr. Faria came to see my children she said, "I hope we got you in and out quickly. We tried our best." This seems weird to me as we never complained about the wait. Pam did. And on our way out, Pam sends a receptionist to give us separate appointment days again. I ask the receptionist why she did this and she responds, "This is how they want to handle it from here on out." My reply: I'll find another provider. I am disturbed that Pam would project her personal grievances about why we drive so far onto the whole office as if we complained about the wait or etc. We only ever asked for same day appointments. Not sure how that inconvenienced her. We never missed any appointments or came late. I'll be finding a new provider, but I hope Dr. Faria finds amenable and amiable help. She is truly an amazing dentist, and though her office is busy - I can't imagine she empowers Pam to torment or disenfranchise patients. Some people aren't built for customer service, and Pam seems like she could potentially be great at something, but isn't office work. I think she must be related because why else would Jambo put up with her thinning out the patient base? There are several reviews on Google that allude to the same rude mannerisms and I just know -- they met Pam. So sad.

Our dentist at Alabama Precious Smiles referred us to Rocket City Kids Dentistry specifically because they are in-network with TriCare/United Concordia and handle major pediatric dental work, including extractions and root canals. Rocket City confirmed they received the referral and scheduled us for a 10:30 AM appointment. We arrived on time. Around 10:45, a staff member briefly looked in my son's mouth and said she would get the dentist. The dentist came over, did not examine my son, and instead asked me if I was there for a teeth cleaning. I explained we were referred for treatment due to severe cavities requiring more serious care. She insisted we were only referred for a cleaning and stated they "don't do that here." I stepped outside and called our referring office, who confirmed that the referral was for a treatment plan and evaluation for major work (surgery) not a cleaning -- though they said Rocket City could do one if they wanted and if that's what it takes for them to do surgery When I relayed that information, the dentist dismissed it, threw a card for another office at me (Whitesburg Pediatric Dentistry), and told me to "go find another doctor" because "the appointment is up." All of this happened while my child was in visible pain and crying. The level of unprofessionalism was shocking. Other staff members seemed pleasant, but the way this situation was handled -- especially by the dentist -- was unacceptable and incredibly insensitive given that we were there because my child is in pain. Our original dental office has since informed us they will no longer be referring patients there. No parent should be treated like this when seeking urgent care for their child.

Upon waking through the door we were met with warm brown colors and soft lighting, then I noticed a keurig and had a quiet chuckle to myself that they offered "teeth stainer" refreshments for those waiting to see the dentist (coffee and tea were available in a delightful variant). A magazine holder that rested on the floor had quite an assortment of worn magazines, I noticed one from as far back as 2013. Wow. Next to that, also on the floor, was one of those mesmerizing wire kids toys, you know the type, they're in almost every doctor's office, the ones where you simply move the colored wooden shapes back and forth seemingly without tiring of it. My toddler was with me when we entered and within 5 minutes he was laying on the floor to play with the shape mover, I wish it had been placed on a table. He went from laying, to rolling, then crawling around. It was then that he and dad left. I waited for an hour as the receptionists tried to figure things out with my insurance and how much was covered. Initially was told everything was going to be covered but unfortunately there was some misinformation or miscommunication along the way, and I had to pay almost everything out of pocket. We'll get to that later. The bathroom was fairly spacious, and I spent a couple moments looking for somewhere to place my purse until I settled on the sink (I have already suggested to Dr. Daniels a purse desk). One thing I do still frown at remembering is the toilet paper; they had the thinnest toilet paper, it was also more frustrating than it should have been to find the end each time I wanted to tear more. I noticed there was no baby changing station (I always look for them). Once I was taken back things moved fairly quickly, the dental assistant that attended me, Samantha, was one of the best I've seen, she had no wasted movements and course corrected herself without the doctor's constant prompt. She moved fast when asked to get something, wasn't afraid to get in there with Dr. Daniels, and gave me her finger to squeeze when I needed it. Guys. I am BAD with needles. I tried to control myself. I really did. Poor Samantha just held her finger out to me without a word while Dr. Daniels tried her best to soothe me with the sound of her voice and told me to focus on her shaking my lip. Can I take a moment to just mention that everyone I saw working there was just amazingly beautiful? It's almost enough to guarantee my return to Premiere haha Back to the amazing Dr. Daniels. It was absolutely clear to me while we discussed things (before the needle, numbing, and being unable to speak part) that she 100% believes in doing things the proper way the first time around, and wanted what was best for her patients. She won me over in those 5 minutes. She will most likely become my go to dental physician for the foreseeable future because of the care she shows, not to mention for the first time after speaking with a dentist I didn't feel ashamed by my janky(ish) teeth and the condition of them. We'll see when I go for a proper check up and everything else though.... she hasn't seen the full extent of prior work done. I learned they do not use metal fillings or composites here; they only use the porcelain or tooth colored stuff. I am fully down with that on account of my metal allergy. So what I was quoted as being fully covered was actually a different procedure and only the exam and X-ray were, the veneer(?) on my one tooth was actually many hundreds of dollars. This is the main reason it's not a full 5 stars for me, I feel slightly cheated and would have put off the work done or shopped around a bit before committing to paying here and now when it isn't an idea time to drop this kind of cash. But it is what it is, the good Doctor did her job so she should be paid. ‍ Sorry not sorry, this is a long review. I tend to do long reviews and try to be thorough. Concise? What's that mean? Lol This is my first time having a female dentist, I don't know why I never have before now, especially with my small mouth. I loved how she did not once tell me to open wider and it didn't feel like I was choking (we'll see when/if she needs to work on back teeth though). Need more dentists with smaller hands. Please. Payments can be broken up into as many visits as it will take, nothing more.They accept Care Credit (?) here. I received a "plan" for the future work to be done (Invisalign) with a projected price. I had no obligation to agree to it and so have not, maybe in the future. It was nice to have and plan for though:) Sorry, teeth! You're important but food in my babies' tummies is more important!
