(Roswell) The location is great, however their services are poor, they take late appointments which means you have to wait over an hour sometimes so that late comers can be seen, in my opinion they should be sent home, why is it that people that get there on time have to wait because someone else decided to get there late! this is so disrespectful you are supposed to be seen at least twice a week, then they say a week because they are booked, one might say OK still good because of the doctor OZ video, ( but they dont give you the time on the video they are giving you only half the time per session) and then there is a 2 week or more waiting period? are you kidding me? might as well give them the money to keep it because you wont see any results whatsoever, This place is a true NIGHTMARE! This is a terrific discount/no drills medi spa. I enjoy coming here and have gotten a few treatments. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Nicki and Tanya were both really sweet today. They exude southern hospitality. Dr. Duf has a great bedside manner. He's caring, considerate and is a complete professional. He also works in an ER, so I got the impression that this job is nice respite from that. I really likes him and would highly recommend him. Oh, and finally, the medical assistant that I met today was also great. He was a full medical doctor in his country prior to coming here to the states... The only thing good about Slender Spa Med is I was able to get my money back. Package purchased: 12 treatments on 2 areas. My first visit was an anomoly, I was in an out in a matter of 20min., I was able to make this appointment during my lunch hour at work. So I continued to do so. Bad idea... My 2nd visit at their new location, I sat in the waiting room for over 20min. When they finally took me to the back, the technician performed only 1/2 of the service because she didn't read my file. When I addressed this issue, they informed me that due to "time constraints" I would need to schedule a return visit for them to correct this. On my third visit (not the correction visit I mentioned above), I showed up on time for my appoint. and I sat down in the waiting area. 10min. pass, then 20. I start to get irritated because this is the second time I've had to wait over 20min. to be seen. This whole time I witness the entire staff interested in nothing but socializing. They rave to the clients who have just gotten surgery, or something more invasive, and they seemingly forget about me sitting there. I never recieved my service at this appt. and had to reschedule. As I was rescheduling for 2 days later that week, the manager acknowledged the long wait time, apologized, and added a "free" ionic foot bath onto my account for my patience and understanding. In addition to her apologies, the manager guaranteed me she would be there when I returned for the rescheduled visit and would ensure that I would not have to wait more than 5 min. On the rescheduled visit I mentioned above, the manager was not present, and I again wait for almost 20min. Once again, this is trivial as they all seemed more interested in socializing than they are in their clients. I would compare their waiting room etiquette to that of a server who forgot to order your food and does everything in their power to avoid you. When the tech. finally brings me into the back she asks me if it's my first visit. Obviously, she didn't care enough to open and read my file. She also had to ask me what services I was getting, because they're clearly not keeping a good record of that either. On my 4th visit, again a repeat of everything mentioned above. However, at this point, around the 15min. mark, I told the woman behind the desk, that they had five more minutes, and then I wanted a refund because these wait times are ridiculous. She had the audacity to say to me, that the computers are new and they're having technical issues with scheduleing, and additionally they had a man come in who wanted his whole chest done, and he was really hairy, so it took longer than expected. 1st of all, gross. 2nd of all, do I look like an IT tech? And 3rd, how is you not properly scheduling appointments my problem? Shouldn't you be allotting the proper time for such things? I was finally able to get my services on this day, but I was late returning back to work. On this particular day, traffic was at a standstill and I would not make the appt. so I called to reschedule. They told me they didn't have any availability for 2 months, no Sat. appointments, nothing. The technician on the phone then stated she would skip her lunch break so she could see me early the next week. The day of this appointment, the Salon calls me and informs me that the technician had a "family emergency" and they would have to reschedule my appointment. How convenient right? Once again, I reschedule what is supposed to be my 5th visit, and once again, I get a call from them cancelling the appointment. Apparently this time, the appointment was double booked. When I called back to try to reschedule again, they again informed me they had no availability for about a month and a half. Frustrated and fed up, I spoke with the manager and demanded a refund. Fortunately, they were very apologetic and helpful with the refund. I would, however, be wary of the Groupon for this company or any services at all from them.. They have sold far too many and cannot keep up with the influx of customers. Additionally, they are so overbooked you'll be lucky to get in within the next 2 months. Also keep in mind that you'll be royally screwed if you have to cancel an appointment for any reason. As a final note I would like to mention, even though I did recieve (4) of the (6) laser hair removal treatments at this company, I may as well not have recieved any. It's been a little over a month since my last treatment, and all the hair has since grown back. Leading me to believe the quality of their lasers are less than parr for the course and they are just sucking you in so you have to buy (6) or more additional treatments at an unreasonable price. *sigh* This place is full of shit! I received a groupon for laser hair removal for this place and was excited. I got the 6 sessions for 1 large area(extended brazilian) and 1small area(armpit). First of all, its so hard to get an appointment. You're supposed to do a session every 5 weeks but i had to wait 7 weeks at one point. Also, that shit doesnt work. I had 3 treatments and when i couldnt get in touch with them to make an appointment, the hair grew back regularly. But the lady said it should grow sparsely after the 3rd session. BULLSHIT. It had been about 2 months and these people were not picking up the phone. The phone would ring ring ring ring. No pick up. I live in gwinnett there's no way im driving to Roswell to make an appointment. How do i even know if they're still open?! At this point, I contacted groupon and they reached out to slender spa med on my behalf. Why was i watching Tv one day and i got a Voice Mail notification. NO PHONE CALL. They must have used an app because i definitely did not receive a phone call because my phone was right next to me. I called back immediately and of course, they didnt pick up. I reached out to groupon again and they said they could either try to resolve it with them or i could get a refund. I went with the refund and got a groupon credit. I had to tell the person that gave me this Laser Hair Removal as a gift(i asked for it...they werent trying to imply that i was a hairy beast) that it was a no go. I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal for 2 areas. From the begging of my treatment, everything was such a nightmare and they are so unprofessional. They hardly ever pick up their phones when I need to schedule my appointment. I received 5 treatments on the underarms and they are ok and I received 4 treatments for Brazilian and I can hardly notice any difference! I've had laser hair removal treatments before and it worked great but not this time! Also, for the 1st treatment for brazilian, they did not do the back even though I paid for the full brazilian.. they do not have the proper charts or something to keep records. I had to explain my self multiple times what areas I'm doing. Their laser is not good or they don't know what they are doing. I didn't want to bother wasting more of my time for the rest of my treatment, and asked for a refund and the manager gave me such a horrible attitude and told me she needs to talk to the "big boss". She also said they did not get paid at all because I bought it through Groupon which makes no sense! They are so unpleasant and very unprofessional. Do not waste your money and time here. read more

Not good. I received botox from this place and got "droopy brow". Every one I talked to says its from improper placement of the injection. When I called to get it resolved they refused to take responsibility for it and also refused to give me a refund. So not only am I walking around with uneven eyebrows I'm out $160. I am so disappointed with the procedure I had done here. I had an arm lift not once but twice. The first time they did lipo with very little results, even though they tried to convince me it worked and my arms would tighten up after wearing a compression garment for a month. Dr.Ruf had to fix a couple of scars so I decided to get a second lift since he was cutting me anyway. It still looks the same. The only thing I got out of the procedure was 2 ugly scars and a bill of over $ 3500.00. My arms are still flabby and I am pretty angry about the entire process. The staff are sugary sweet and Dr Ruf is a nice guy - he just messed me up and I am so disappointed with the procedure I had done here. The only thing I got out of the procedure was 2 ugly scars and even though I regret it, there is nothing I can do but pay the bill and continue to wear sleeves. read more

I had erbium laser done here over the Christmas holiday. The people here are extremely helpful and very nice. They make you feel very comfortable. The results are not very obvious, but I will say i was told I may need more treatments. The only complaint I have is I was told I would be pretty much healed at day four and day four was my worst! Major swelling and very blotchy redness. It took a good 10 days before I looked normal again, so if you have this done, just know the downtime can be quite long for what the results are. read more

I agree with Liz P this place is awful. I couldn't get my appointments booked with them over the phone. They were extremely rude. It took multiple phone calls, put on hold, speaking to a manager who huffed down the phone like a child. Note these appointments were already paid for with Groupon - maybe they just don't value their groupon customers. After all this hassle, do I really want to go there for treatment? Do they deserve my custom? No. Awful customer service. Never have I been treated so rudely before. This place in unbelievably disorganized. The woman that does lipo cavitation is Lynn, and she is incredibly condescending and rude. When Lynn answers the phone she is short, and constantly puts you on hold. She is also rather imprecise when answering specific questions which leads me to believe she has a horrible attitude problem because she probably doesn't know what she is doing or just hates her job. I definitely need to lose some inches, but not with someone like that. Another girl finally answered the phone after sitting on hold forever and took over. She was nice, but Lynn had seemed so hurried and bothered that I had already decided not to go to Slender Spa. I asked if Lynn was drunk, lol. They just really don't have it together and before Lynn finally answered the phone I was sent to voice mail countless times. Of course, voice mail was more polite. :D read more

I signed up for the Ultrasound Cavitation treatments offered by Groupon late 2013 for the Duluth location. Was very excited about the potential results and followed each of the pre & post-procedure instructions. After they scheduled (3) appointments in one week (of the 10 I signed up for) I went to my regular fitness routine I ended up in the hospital with near renal failure before the 4th treatment. NO emergency or after hours number was given in case you had questions or any type of emergency so I googled the doctors associated with SSM and found where one of the doctors worked in the ER. I started the treatments on a Tuesday and was admitted to the hospital the following Monday on bed rest for (5) days. I was going into renal failure and nearly lost function of my kidneys and liver from an overdose of toxins into my system. SSM scheduled (3) treatments in one week (48) hours apart. After my own research after the fact these are not supposed to be done within 3-5 days of each other in order to properly drain the lymphatic system. Couple that with an intense workout routine (although the instructions say you can return to normal activities) and you might get a little vacay in the hospital as I did. The sad thing is on the last day I had treatment (on a Saturday) I mentioned to the technician that my arms were really swollen and wondered if it could have anything to do with the treatments. They were the ONLY thing different in my daily routine and I'd never experienced this before. She dismissed the mention as not knowing anything, but proceeded to educate me that she doesn't like the Groupons this location offers because people forget to tip - which I didn't know you were even supposed to do - and she's loosing a lot of money and time. What's even worse about the entire process is that I called the location from the hospital with an IV drip in my arm that had been there for four days to let them know they need to be a little more cautious about scheduling appointments so close together, and not say "just go back to your normal routine" if you work out often and at fairly intense levels. The people at these locations need to be more educated about these procedures and the various types of complications they can lead to. I was not offered a credit and the manager of the location refused to speak with me after three calls to the Duluth location. Apparently the doctor did finally return the calls to the emergency room doctors and let his location know what happened. However, I never heard a word, a phone call, a "we apologize this unfortunate situation has happened whether we're at fault or not" etc. My doctor at the hospital was fully convinced these treatments are what lead to my condition and her recommendation was to never do them again. I had purchased these treatments as a reward to myself after having lost a good bit of weight and just wanted to get those last few stubborn pounds off my core. Unfortunately, within a matter of days I had gained 20+lbs of fluid, forbidden to work out again until levels and functions are back to normal and that was seven months ago. IF you choose these treatments do a ton of research for yourself because you won't get it from SSM or anyone associated. Their staff at the Duluth location was incredibly rude, but did offer me B-12 injections over the phone when I got out of the hospital. When I asked her if she was recommending them for me having nearly just lost kidney and liver function she said, "you know we can all use a little more energy!" Thanks, but the warnings on B-12 injections clearly state to check with your PHYSICIAN if you have had kidney or liver disease before receiving injections... not a receptionist. Overall... use at your own risk and if you're expecting Southern Hospitality for service you may want to just head to Cracker Barrel instead. read more

Whoever the business owner is should reconsider another career because they clearly do not know a thing about service. As the other comments show- Good luck getting an appointment at EITHER location after you've pulled out the big bucks to get your " service" done. You make your appointment around their strict scheduling 6+ weeks out and wait at LEAST 30 minutes before being seen. Not to mention, they have cancelled 2 of my laser hair removal appointments because their "machines are broken????" When I asked when they would be repaired she replied "I don't know, maybe you can try to call the other location to get an appointment." As I for waited for my first appointment I heard the two ladies at the desk discussing the horrible Yelp reviews, so I looked- since I had been waiting for 30 minutes for my appointment at that point anyways. And I saw that I wasnt the only one who had these complaints. As I explained to her that I had another appointment after and needed to get in as soon as possible and I had been waiting, she told me " well, you were going to be 15 min late to your next appt anyways so what were you going to do?" Rather than, "I'm so sorry for the wait, let me see if I can reschedule or call the other location and see" but no, she said there is nothing available for a month and that maybe I should call the other location. Don't waste you're time, even if you are saving money. It's not worth it. Like crystal, I've had 4 treatments and can't tell a difference at all. Hair grows back slower but still all certainly grows back. I'm getting a refund and pissed that I wasted so much of my time with this horrible business. read more

I was extremely hesitant to purchase the Groupon special for the cavitation treatments at this location because of the horrific reviews on here. However, after I called the spa and asked a million questions, I decided for the price, it was worth a shot. I have been extremely pleased with the service of all of the ladies at this location and I hold very high standards of excellence since I am in the customer service industry myself. I have been in for a total of 8 treatments thus far. I was able to get all 10 of my sessions scheduled right away with no issue. I have never had to wait more than10 minutes, which seems completely reasonable. The ladies that work here are very friendly and not pretentious or pushy trying to "up sale" you on every service available. They do have monthly specials that are advertised at the front desk if you are interested. They do offer a lot more services than I would ever have thought that I could afford. Exp. Vitamin B-12 Lipotropic shots, antioxidant scan, foot detox baths, thermal body wraps, laser hair removal,..etc. I honestly haven't seen outstanding results from the cavitation treatments, but I haven't been the most diligent in sticking to a low calorie diet. I do however really like their "shake machine". I can actually feel the blood circulating through my body after using this machine & it has improved my balance/coordination (you get 10 minutes on this machine after each cavitation treatment). i recently visited this roswell "medspa" during the holiday season after responding to a craiglist add about medical aesthetician/laser technician employment. when i arrived the office and receptionist seemed "welcoming". i was wrong! i was forced to wait for tanya grizzle over 45 minutes to even come out and start my interview. when she did, she and the staff talked more about race and my "mixed" appearance than anything. they literally picked my brain for 30 minutes and told me i had the job at the end of the interview. tanya grizzle stated that "she had to check the schedule to pencil me into the roswell schedule not duluth. i was told by tanya grizzle that she would contact me back to start in just under 2 weeks and i never heard from her again. i called twice and the staff who spent 45 minutes with me the day of my interview pretended as if they never met me. i wanted to share my experience and i wish anyone with black or mixed background well trying to gain employment here. they openly admitted to having a large black clientele and seemingly no real interest in how to treat black skin. good luck everyone. 2 thumbs down from me-i do not like classism or the other form of "ism" read more
