Dr. Erin O'Connor has saved my dogs quite a few times! She's both a chiropractic genius (and offers laser treatments that help decrease inflammation) and a dietary genius. Since it's nearly impossible to find a natural vet who actually knows what dogs should eat and what natural supplement to give them, we are always asking her nutritional questions during appts. She is so kind, and her staff is excellent. She stocks both a raw food, and many different kinds of supplements. My dogs are prone to jumping accidents, and on a couple occasions, we left town, and our pet sitting agency did not notice the two dogs were jumping over the pet gate. We came home to limping dogs, and Dr. O'Connor fixed up the dogs within 6-8 appts to where the limp was completely gone. We also go every 6 weeks proactively for our two dogs and I think that saved us from a broken leg. I'm pretty much inclined to say that my dogs are 1000% healthier and more limber due to the support of this amazing provider. This review is long overdue- I originally found Vitality and Dr. Erin when my Maltese Bruno had a CCL tear and my vet's recommendations were meds and surgery. That just didn't sit right with me so I spent a weekend doing some research which led me to animal chiropractic. I originally tried to get into a practice closer to my home but they were booking a month out with no exception for the pain my pup was in. The receptionist at Vitality was very empathetic to Bruno's situation and I was able to bring him much sooner (they first had to speak with his vet and it was decided he needed some time to rest and heal before being seen). Bruno walked in to his first appointment on 3 legs and walked out on 4; they made me a believer in animal chiropractic that day! And more importantly Bruno's pain was exponentially reduced with that first visit! In order for chiropractic to be successful long term muscle memory must be engaged and whether a human or an animal muscle memory happens over a period of time; that's why a chiropractic visit isn't a one time thing. It's important to follow the recommended care plan which (for my dogs) was to start with appointments closer together then increasing the time frame to eventually being months apart for maintenance. Dr. Erin takes copious notes so she is right on top of your pet's situation and recommends the ideal time frame between appointments. She helped Bruno heal and he was able to live his best life without any after effects from an invasive surgery. Sadly Bruno has passed (from a totally unrelated illness) but now my Lily sees Dr. Erin. Again a CCL injury and again our vet recommended meds and surgery. Nope, I took Lily straight to Dr. Erin. Since her injury wasn't as severe as Bruno's the treatment plan was different and included an Assisi Loop (very cool device, I was able to purchase one and was shown how to best use it between appointments). Lily has since moved into maintenance where the appointments are more spread out, in fact we were just in to see Dr. Erin yesterday. I've watched Vitality grow over the years to a new, larger office, adding practitioners and specialities and one thing hasn't changed- whether my own pet or a friend's that I had recommended to Vitality you can always count on getting the best care for your furry family member! read more

What can I say, actually I can't say enough about the team here! I send both humans and my pet client here all the time! I take my 19 year old cat, Metallicat to see Dr Cat and Dr Erin for adjustments. She still seems to think she is a super Cat at her age and tends to tweak her pelvis out of whack and sometimes her neck, shoulders and back:-(. I have a high bed and have stairs for her that she'll go up, but still likes to jump down. For her birthday, I bought her the Weathertech pet ramp and trained her to use that with hopes that her joints stay in place better. I also buy my CBD oil for her here and I notice a big difference in her comfortability, increased appetite and energy. The adjustments also help her as a preventive for UTIs. Older pets tend to get old pet bodies and their rear end parts get closer which can cause bladder and UT infections. Having adjustments help to normalize the body structure and the possibilities of infection reduce!! And for myself, I see Dr. Paul. I like that he's not out to crack, he works on muscle and nerve adhesion. If you don't loosen up the tension around the joints they will just go back into the wrong spot, right?? Right! This place is TERRIBLE and full of UNCARING staff! Keep in mind my dog has NEVER had any hip or joint issues before. My dog started care due to "seizure-like" episodes and the vet thought chiropractic might help. But since then, it has been determined that the episodes are not seizures, but rather cardiac related. Now after being on medication, he has not had any more episodes. No thanks to the "treatment" he received at Vitality. Anyway, after the last visit, my dog started experiencing tenderness in his hips. I called to ask them if I could bring him in for a no-charge adjustment/correction because this was clearly a result of his last visit. The timing is too coincidental and he NEVER had any hip issues prior to visiting this place. They made every excuse in the book as to why it couldn't possibly be related to the "care" they provided to him and refused to take responsibility or acknowledge the possibility that it could be from his last visit. They basically left him in a state of discomfort, with a new issue he never had before, and washed their hands of it. Of course, they offered to look at him for another office visit charge which is just WRONG! Take your beloved pets here at your own risk. BEWARE! Your pets might come out worse than when they went in!!! In response to Erin's comment, we were NOT dismissed. WE made the decision not to return to their office! In fact, I hung up on them and told them we will not be returning after receiving an uncaring response. I don't believe that you've never had an issue before out of "90,000 adjustments". IMPOSSIBLE!!! That being said, it doesn't matter how many patients you have treated, it only takes one to have an issue and it happened to be my dog. I canceled his last appointment due to the ice storm and while you are harping on the fact that it has been 19 days, he was on a 2 week interval plan so it hasn't been that long. Also, some soreness is to be expected after each adjustment so I was thinking it would resolve itself but 2 weeks is too long for him to still be in pain! If they really cared about the animals, they could have suggested he at least come in so they could take a look and find out what was what but they would only let him come back in for a regular appointment and for an additional fee. I would have respected them more had they at least said they would take a look at him. It certainly isn't the cost involved of bringing him back in (he sees a cardiologist), it is the quality of care they provide. As you can tell from their response, they take zero responsibility for anything and that's concerning. Also, I never got to speak to the doctors myself about this. The receptionist is the go-between because the doctors are supposedly so busy. They aren't too busy to create lengthy responses to Yelp reviews. read more

We had an emergency visit to the animal chiropractor this morning for Ziggy. She was displaying signs of pain and stiffness, the interesting thing was she was adjusted Monday and goes 6/7 weeks between visits. Well on Tuesday while she was doing tricks for a treat and I did notice her demeanor changed. I'm glad I listened to my intuition because both her hips, a rib, and her neck in 2 spots where she never had an issue before was all off balance and she was in serious pain. I believe if I took her to our vet (who is wonderful btw) that they would have pumped her with meds and never thought to align her which wouldn't have helped me at all. I have been working with Vitality Animal Chiropractic for 3 years now and have been so pleased. Some people have different opinions about chiropators, but they have helped me through my injury and inflammation issues for years. If you have never heard of animal chiropractic before, now you have and it has been life changing for my fur babes. No more pain and I'm learning so much from the doctors. Still five-stars, but for more reasons. About six weeks ago, our Lab Nigel, was diagnosed with a large tumor on his spleen (guy can't catch a break). I e-mailed Dr. O'Connor to tell her he might not make it to his next appointment and explained the diagnosis. Surgery wasn't really an option as it would probably just make him weaker. Her response was pretty great, while not promising anything, she encouraged me to check out changing his diet to a raw meal plan. By raw, yes, I mean uncooked meat, but it's more than that really, it's a whole ground product that includes a bone, connective tissues, etc. It's full of nutrients that dogs were born to eat and help their immune systems. Well, I can report that while not cured, he's still hanging around, chasing around with the neighbors much younger Labradors and back to his happy self. No way I would have thought he'd make today's appointment based on his condition the week after Labor Day. I have little doubt that changing his food is the reason why. We've even changed our little ankle-biter too. So really my point... from chiropractic care to dietary guidance, Dr. O'Connor is a wealth of information. I had been avoiding some health issues for awhile, and they specifically impacted my running and normal workout routine. I never even knew there were chiropractors for animals until I came across Dr. Erin. I emailed her one day because I couldn't figure out what happened to my shih-Tzu, she looked like she was having a seizure. I took her to the vet and they referred me to a neurologist but no one could tell me what happed to her. Then I found Dr. Erin. I emailed her on a Saturday and to my surprise, she answered me. She said she can see her that same day but I told her I rather wait until Monday. She saw her on Monday and all my baby had was a spasm on her neck. That's why she was twitching so much. Dr. Erin took all the kinks out and she was brand new. I continue to take my dog every 3 months just for maintenance. She is getting old so she needs Dr. Erin's tune ups once in a while. Dr. Erin is great! She is very friendly, knowledgeable and hands on. I don't think she has ever met a dog who didn't like her. I have been taking my older dog to see her for about 2 months now and we are seeing improvement. There is no cure for my dogs degenerative myelopathy but I believe we can slow down the process. My dog is moving better and has a spring in her step again. Dr. Erin is great! If you love your pets and they are suffering, take them to see Dr. Erin. I've been taking my Weimaraner to Dr. O'Connor for about 2 years now. I traveled 45 minutes to see her the 1st two appointments and I caught a HUGE break when she announced she would be at a clinic in my area on Mondays (Autumn Green Animal Hospital). My dog is almost 13 years old and has spondylosis in two vertebrae (not too bad). The condition causes him discomfort but he rarely lets it slow him down, which is part of the problem - his energy level aggravates the situation but an adjustment with Dr. O'Connor gets everything back into alignment and he's good to go for another few weeks. The treatments also helped gastrointestinal issues he had for several years. He gets excited when we head to her office, knows exactly which exam room we go to and tries dragging me down the hall to get in the room before the Dr is even ready to see us. I think a lot of people think it's lunacy to bring your dog to a chiropractor but I highly recommend people consider it for their pet. As other people mentioned, Dr. O'Connor is also very knowledgeable about dietary issues relating to animals. read more

Dr Erin was very approachable, she was very comfortable with my yellow lab (Maggie), and the dog responded positively while she was adjusting her. It was obvious Maggie was feeling better after having her hips re-aligned. What was interesting was after the hip adjustment, Dr. Erin was performing a stretch on Maggie's back leg to loosen up her hips. After she performed the stretch, Maggie did it again all by herself without any prompting. It felt good!! Since her adjustment, she is getting up off the floor better, taking stairs better and is waging her tail more. Maggie clearly feels better. I am so thankful we found Dr. O'Connor! Since my shih-tzu was probably about 2 years old she's had problems with her spine. Only we didn't know it was her spine at the time. Out of no where, she would have a loss of appetite and get the shakes. A day, or a week later, she'd be fine. Then it would happen again. It would happen every several months or so. We took her to the emergency vet, and they took an xray. They didn't see anything wrong. We were prescribed pills, but nothing stopped her from having these incidents. Finally, it got so bad where she lost some control over her back legs (keep in mind, she was still very young, only 3 years old at this time), and would often drag them. She would lose balance easily, and I could tell she wasn't feeling good. It was horrible to watch. We brought her to our vet who said we should see a neurologist. Our vet said she'd probably need surgery, otherwise she might never walk again. We were devastated, and brought her to see a neurologist. The neurologist said there was an issue with her spine, which she said was fairly common in dogs like shih-tzus. She recommended surgery, which was thousands of dollars, would require healing time, and which was not guaranteed to work (like most surgeries). We decided to try an alternative method, and found a chiropractor who works on animals, Dr. Erin O'Connor. Dr. O'Connor did some adjustments on my dog, and also helped her balance on a donut (like a bosu ball, but with a hole in the middle). After just a few sessions, I could tell my dog was back to feeling like her normal, energetic self. She hasn't had an incident like before since we've been going to Dr. O'Connor, which has been probably about a year now. I am so amazed and happy at what she was able to do for us. To go from being told your dog will need expensive surgery or else she may never walk properly again....to having her enjoy life again, worry-free, is simply amazing! I am absolutely thrilled we were able to go the more affordable, holistic way instead of invasive surgery. Dr. O'Connor works on many animals (just check out their facebook page!), and it is simply incredible to see how she has effected so many animals positively. I know she and her husband (a chiropractor who works on humans in the same office-- great concept!) do a lot of charity work too. It makes me feel good to know I support a business that does that. We're moving over an hour away soon, and I'm still planning on bringing my dog to Dr. O'Connor. (We're up to about 3 months between visits now.)
