The disease that I had was fatal to most and required a chemo-nucleotide drug that was very difficult to attain. His Knowledge, care, network and research, along with my own due diligence resulted in the cure. VitaMED Family Practice is a great place to receive full health care, from some of the best doctors in the individual fields of medicine. Tadeusz Majchrzak, MD, is the Physician-in-charge and runs a no nonsense establishment. He is a doctor that looks at the whole patient and makes certain that his patients are thoroughly examined and cared for. The medical staff on site is second to none. The ladies are always pleasant and are uplifting when they speak with you. These women are experts in their field and administer tests and assistance to the patients with love and care. Everything is done onsite, blood work and all. The phlebotomist on staff is excellent. I never feel any pain when having blood work done or receiving vaccinations. Just seeing the ladies when they greet you to come inside puts a smile on your face. I'm sure I'm going to be in the minority of people who have not had a good overall experience with this practice, but it is the truth and it needs to be told. In the end, Dr. Majchrszack's business will continue to thrive, but I can at least shed some light and a caveat emptor should you venture here. Several years ago I had come here at the recommendation of a friend. I read reviews; they were great, but I missed a few negative ones. Note to yelpers prolific and casual: always check the negative reviews, even if they are few and far between. Who's to say those 4 and 5-star reviews aren't coming from friends and even bot posters to make sure a business shows up with a high score? It happens all the time. You've been warned. When. you come in, the first thing you get is a vulgar girl who has been there forever. She will not greet you and can even be antagonizing. The only person I have to state is maternal is Magda, who has in the past given me my flu shots. However, with this girl, you get sharp language and an attitude that she's not there to care for you and you're a nuisance to her. I can only assume she works there because of a family relation; otherwise, she'd have been replaced a long time ago, but after this review, I shall never go back there, so that's it. When I met Dr. Majchrszak, he was of the impossible-to-spell name, he was still and resembled something out of a time machine. He speaks into a dictaphone -- yes, you heard it -- and demands you take tests to ensure you are not sporting some unknown disease or health condition. I was subjected to endless tests with his cardiologist Ferayoon Kohan who determined I had a heart condition. [I didn't, but more to that later.] I was placed under strict medication on high blood pressure medications, all of which made me gain untold amounts of weight. Eventually, when the pandemic happened and all one could do was jog, masked, throughout empty streets, for hours, I proved that no, I never was hypertensive. But wait! Majchrszak had determined I needed to get a colonoscopy at once! It's just that the doctor was way out of my insurance. I declined. [I will get a colonoscopy... just at my discretion.] At the moment I am battling COVID-19. When I call, because he is my GP (well... until today, no more), I get the same rude girl, and the message that he'd call me back. Reader, it took 6 hours - almost a solid 7 - before that happened. In the meantime, and because I was very, very sick and desperate, I contacted my insurance, procured an impromptu meeting with Teladoc, and got my medication. I feel much, much better. Also alarming is the fact that at 9:00 and until 9:30 you don't get anyone on the line, and during the hours of 12:00 and 1:00 pm, your call will show as "Your call did not complete as dialed. Please check your number, and dial again." So, if there is an emergency, and you don't have the doctor's number (or anyone else's for that matter), what do you do? This is unacceptable for a practice that presents itself as one that takes care of the sick. Meanwhile, Majchrszak? Oh, he called back. I got prednisone and dextromethorphan - not Paxlovid (although granted, I did get this through Teladoc, so high-five, Teladoc). Prednisone makes a person gain enormous amounts of weight. What is with this doctor's fixation on dispensing medication that does nothing but make you retain water? When I stated I'd go and procure it at the pharmacy he yelled at me [he always yells] that I could not go get my medication myself and that he would be closely monitoring my health to include tests upon tests to make sure I am disease-free. I hung up, frustrated and angry because he failed to come through when I needed him the most, but began with his usual vaudeville act of being a doctor caught in his own ego trip, in a different century, a dictaphone at his side. Sometimes some doctors should retire. Go at your own risk. Or who knows; perhaps you adore him. I can assure you that I do not. read more

I was recommended to see Dr. Majchrzak by a good friend and I now know just much he really cares about me. The fact that he guided me to this doctor was something so amazing. I have been struggling to find a doctor with the amount of ethically propensity required of a doctor to no avail. That is, until I found this angel doctor. He really is an angel in my life. A little bit of my backstory, I got into a horrific car accident in Manhattan in January 2011 and I was hit on my passenger side by a taxi cab who ran a red light. After cutting my door to get me out and rushing me to Bellevue hospital with no pulse and consequently several surgeries later I was released after like a month. I was only 22 years old. Now almost 8 years later every doctor I see looks at me for face value and always tells me how young I look. I honestly feel like I'm atleast 56 years old. I have continued problems with my health. Fast forward to my meeting this doctor, he has ran all the adequate tests, has been extremely thorough and has kept an eye on my wellness. He's very informative and proactive in his patient's health, it shows. He has told me now several times he is treating me like I was his own daughter and making sure he gets to the bottom of the cause for my ailments. I truly believe him because I can see he is sincere and he strives to be a good physician and do his job correctly. His staff are equally as great. They all make it easy to feel like family and take the stuffiness out of the office and make it feel very comfortable. They make sure they remember your name and treat you like a human being. I love all of them, but the doctor has truly exceeded my expectations. Coming from an internist who was my doctor for over 4 years whom I saw a total of 4 times and didn't care to even remember my name or conditions, Dr. Majchrzak is such a breath of fresh air. He makes sure he builds a rapport with his patients and isn't relying on a PA assistant to take care of his work/job. Since seeing me he has already sent me to get new MRIs, a cardiologist, an allergist and a pain management doctor. He has most definitely set the bar high for what a doctor should be. He didn't judge me because of my young age and took me seriously. I was developing a cancer and he got me to the appropriate care and I was cancer free within a few days of seeing him. Dr M. has been my primary care physician for going on 10 years now. He recently moved to this location last month (1/16). Still showing great care for all his patients. He is very though & personal with them. Taking the time to go over all your concerns since your last visit. The office is easily accessible by public transportation just like his last locale. It's a short walk from Journal Square train station & across from a White Castle on the Boulevard by bus. Yes he takes appointments, but walk ins are accepted as well. Here lies a small problem. It's usually first come, first served here.The wait can be a bit long when coming to see the doctor. I'm well versed with this routine. Normally coming between 9 & 10 in the morning on my day off. Then it's pretty quick to get in and out. Also of some note, there are a couple of specialist doctors that work out of this office once or twice a week. A pulmonary dr & a cardiologist which I both have seen thru the years as well. That certainly makes things easier for me , not having to go to another location. His staff as always, is very helpful with all my needs and questions. read more

I wanted to visit Dr. Tadeusz J. Majchrzak family practice a few times before I give a fair review and every time I visit I'm beyond grateful to have him as my doctor. At this point in my life, I think I'm qualified to review what it means to be a good physician. About two years ago, I was in a tragic accident that changed my life. I've been to so many different hospitals and seen so many different doctors and hospital staff with varying levels of expertise, experience and politeness. Unfortunately, I've had some bad experiences and it didn't help matters. Along with fighting for my life, anxiety, PTSD, depression, chronic pain, and being mute, I had to be my own medical advocate. I had to fight against being given the wrong medications, wrong diagnoses and fight for better care. Thankfully, my "voice" was being heard. I knew my rights and am pleased with the outcome. It's been a long and tedious road but I'm blessed and grateful to be alive. I've learned a lot and knew that I no longer wanted to be a victim. A "victim" to my circumstances, a "victim" to poor medical care, a "victim" to opioid dependency, etc. I had to reorganize the way I thought about life and living it. I'm a survivor. I will get through this. I will get a better hold of my pain, anxiety and overall health. And in order to do that, I had to have the right people in my corner. Luckily, not all of my doctors were bone heads. The ones I value, I visit often. Before the traffic accident, I didn't have a primary physician, so the one I had "recruited" was someone to fill in until I found the right one. After a searching online, I found Dr. Tadeusz J. Majchrzak. I swear, God has my back. Dr. T is amazing. He's professional, polite, knowledgeable and compassionate. He's...I mean...see I'm speechless. Beyond words. And he's great for me because I don't have to wait long (you have to go really early), he's local (most of my doctors are in NYC) and he's closed to public transportation (I don't have a car). He's an experienced doctor who has traveled the world. He's done work in Africa as well, specifically Nigeria. Dr. T is the best because I wanted a doctor to help me wean off of opioid medication. I use them for pain and I find them to be more of a pain to my overall well being. Thankfully I don't have an addictive personality. I've been prescribed some anti-anxiety medications as well, and haven't taken them. When I did in the hospital, I was hallucinating. Not good. Anyway, Dr. T has prescribed me another drug to help me wean off the opioids. The first day it was difficult but since then, I have been great. He even calls to see how I'm doing with the new meds. He's very sweet. As well as his staff. Eventually I'll seek other alternatives for pain and anxiety relief. He's the go-to doctor for medical marijuana too if you're interested. But I'm doing fine now thanks to my new primary care physician, Dr. T . He's definitely worth the time, the drive, the money, the whatever. You won't regret it. read more

This place sucks by all means! I made an appointment two weeks ahead of time for my mother who had back pain and can not sit for a long time. Not only we waited for 2+ hours, they girl in the reception was disgustingly rude. When I complained there was another lady who turns out to be a manager of that place, she is nasty. After my complain that my mother had to be there with her back pain, my baby was cranky and she did not even apologized for making us wait for so long and for her rude worker who cared less about our situation. When we finally got called inside, doctor was rude and raised his voice to us. He is not professional, when we went to other doctor after this sad situation we encountered. Another doctor told us that he prescribed unnecessary blood test for my mom, which are not even relevant to her case. Dear whoever reading it, if you respect your time and yourself - this is not the place to go. read more

Great dr - knows what he's talking about. Runs a wholistic practice. Anything u need u can get at this location. Very cordial guy and will spend as much time as needed with you. Never felt rushed. His staff is wonderful. They are always willing to work with me even if it's short notice. Always friendly and polite and never make u feel like u are a bother for any matter. The only bad thing I could say is the parking but even in the old location u were on your own there. Just wish there were some closer parking lots or garages to use. This is the worst experience I ever had when seeing a doctor. The girl at Front desk is very rude to patients and doesn't show any respect. I came for today's appointment at 3pm. After filling the paper (4 pages long), I was told to wait. When I asked about the estimated time, she seemed very impatient and said she didn't know. After waiting for 40 mins, she said she called my insurance company but couldn't verify my information. Then she asked me to pay $180 upfront to see the doctor. Later on I called the insurance company myself and everything was ok. The front desk acknowledged that then asked me to wait again and didn't say anything caring. Seems like this place doesn't care about patients time at all. When I complained this with her, she said she welcome my bad views, which leaves me no choice. I highly recommend not go to this place given the bad time management, poor customer service and arrogant attitude. Eventually I decided to cancel my appointment and won't come back here again...Hope my own experience help other patients make a wise decision. read more

Dr. Majchrzak - I have been going to Dr. Majchrzak for over 25 years, Even after I have relocated I still make the 2 hour drive to be seen by him. - Dr. Majchrzak really cares about all of his patients, he takes the time with every patient to explain and listen to all of their concerns, whether that takes 15 min or 30 min he takes the time and doesn't rush anyone. - Dr. Majchrzak will not only talk to you in his office but he will also check in with you with a phone call. If any medication is prescribed Dr. Majchrzak will call to ask how are you responding to the new medication if it's helping or needs to be changed or adjusted. He goes above and beyond for all of his patients making sure they are doing well with any treatment and that you are happy and well at the end. - There are other specialist in his practice so most visits can all be done in one place and one day without having you to drive all over town. - Dr. Majchrzak is quick to inform their patients when any lab or test results come back and are ready to be reviewed. - All of the staff is very kind and understanding, if you are ever running late or you're stuck in traffic, you will not lose your appointment or place. There have been days where Dr. Majchrzak even waited for me at the end of the day minutes to closing and he still took the time to see me. I went to Dr. Majchrzak with my brother who's been seeing this doctor for a year. We both needed physical. He told me that the doctor is funny and really good at what he does. First thing that disappointed me was that I had to wait for almost 45 minutes and I have a scheduled appointment. The lady at the front desk was kind enough to schedule me ASAP and after their usual hours, but still. She was very professional and polite. Doctor on the other hand is shouting, making jokes - mostly about me, giving me advices how to live my life and telling me about his sexual life. Since my brother and I have a different insurances, he scheduled a different tests for us - that was another issue that I had. Why is he scheduling tests according to insurance?! And after the exam doctor takes out his dictaphone and very loudly and theatrically records everything you spoke minus the jokes. We left, and came back 3 days after to get results. Again waiting. He diagnosed us both with different diseases (that we never knew we had) and told us to come every 3 months for checkups. Just like that. Then we had to "copay" all of the tests. Around $600 for both of us. I don't trust this doctor and his expertise so I will ask for a second opinion somewhere else. read more

Dr. Majchrzak has been my primary care physician for 18 years! I moved from Jersey City 15 years ago and tried seeing a few doctors over the years in my area only to be disappointed over and over. A few years ago, I was having a tough time and decided to go to the guy I knew I could trust. He took care of me like I was family.It is refreshing to see a physician that will take his time with everyone. He listens to your concerns without rushing you explains everything to you so you leave confident and safe in his care. The office is easy to get to, it is within walking distance from Journal Square and his assistants are TOP NOTCH! They're friendly, warm and inviting. I drive over an hour and 30 minutes to see him once a month and I will continue to drive as long as it takes to be seen by him.
