Vitamin emporium is my go to for vitamins/supplements. I do my own research- it's honestly so difficult to find good physician that will prescribe or Suggest vitamins m/supplements. Its been 3 years since my initial review. Visited Vitamin Emporium many times since my first review. ALL still holds true. AND they are celebrating their 20th year anniversary! They clearly are doing things right. I met with Jason this past visit. Really nice guy. Of course, knowledge! (He's been in the industry for over 10 years.) I'm in my early 50's and had concerns about getting proper nutrition with a multi vitamin, enough calcium for bones and issues with menopause. This is my go to place for my vitamins and supplements. They are very knowledgeable and have helped me when I've come in with various concerns. They are the ones that turned me onto Ginger candies that relieve bloating and stomach pain. You would also be surprised how competitive their prices are, even against the internet. I visited this store yesterday, August 9th, and I am still baffled at how my boyfriend and I were treated. I came in with a list of about 6-7 supplements that we needed, and upon asking the clerk Janet a couple questions, we were given the rudest response I have ever gotten in a retail setting. Specifically, I asked about an antioxidant blend, which was recommended to me by my holistic doctor. Her response was to look at me as if I asked her the most heinous question possible, and she proceeded to rattle off about how vitamin C is an antioxidant in the most condescending tone. We decided to leave immediately without purchasing anything and headed over to the Vitamin Shoppe on Lyons, where we were treated so much better. Oh and the kicker is I went home and did some research and very quickly found a "Super Antioxidants" supplement by Now, which I purchased on Amazon. Please consider shopping with Vitamin Shoppe or Amazon before stepping foot in this store, where clearly they need to brush up on their knowledge of their product. read more

Wow, it is funny that it took this owner almost a year to respond. It is true that I did not purchase the product from that store and I never claimed that I did. I sent photos of the product which included photos of the lot number and the expiration date, that was well within current time frame. The product only had 6 capsules removed. the reason I went to this establishment in the first place is that the manufacturer directed me there to get a replacement for a defective product that they authorized. Prior to visiting, I called and confirmed with a woman who identified herself as the store manager. (Very courteous and helpful). It was the owner of the store who lacked service skills. There is never a reason to pontificate your knowledge and not even listen to a customer just to make a point. The point was made! He chose not to honor a manufacturer's wish and listen to a potential customer's concerns and I chose not to do business with Vitamin Emporium. While the defect was not caused by Vitamin Emporium, they could have shown good will and accepted a return that they would have gotten full credit from the manufacturer! That is what prompted my post. If I bought a car in another state and there was a defect, the dealer in another state would make the correction, no questions asked because they get reimbursed from the manufacturer! When I shared this story with the manufacturer, they immediately gave me a coupon for the value of the item which I was glad to spend elsewhere along with purchasing $200 worth of there product at better prices (including products from the same manufacturer). I am very surprised at the previous reviews of this place. I visited Vitamin Emporium on Hillsboro recently, at least three times in two weeks. Not only was I impressed with the vast selection of products they carry, I was super impressed with the staff's knowledge of the products and their benefits. They are also now carrying a couple of lines of pure CBD oil and are extremely knowledgeable about those products as well. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again. read more

This is the worst vitamin store I've ever been to. I went to this store while on vacation. I usually shop at GNC (and will now continue). I spent close to $100 on supplements. I bought a multivitamin for myself as well as other supplements for my family. I took mine right away only to realize it EXPIRED in 01/2012 may I mention it is MARCH 2012. I go back expecting a simple exchange for THEIR MISTAKE...nope! The MANAGER fought with me about how he has "20 years of experience" and that its just "best by" that date but its OKAY to "still sell it". Then realizing I was RIGHT said I could return it. Then CHANGED his mind and said "NO SORRY! We can't." How disrespectful? I said I would accept an exchange.... GUESS WHAT?! The rest of his supply was ALSO EXPIRED! Ew! Then I was very frustrated at this point. May I add the manager is STILL arguing with me in front of customers. I left the card I paid with so we were going to come the next morning. The manager said he would not be there so I asked him to just write a note to his employee allowing the return. He fought with me on that, too. After driving an hour out of the way to get my original card, one of his employees did the return. May I add... The employees were friendly but the MANAGER was HORRIBLE. read more
