Local pioneer in nutrition and wellness, Al Foreman is the founder of Tunies, a health store in Coral Springs. Tunies is now closed and has been replaced by another store. Al's latest venture is the Sav-A-Lot Nutrition Centers store in Margate which specializes in vitamins, herbs, supplements, sports nutrition, personal care, household and pet care items. Al has a radio program and when they do a show he will offer a discount on items mentioned. Past radio shows are archived on the website and cover the topics of getting through the holidays with gut and sugar support, Life Extension products uses and benefits, and how probiotics for gut support can help your brain and mood. The programs are an hour long and I have been listening to them when I am cleaning or driving. I have a lot of gut health issues which they address and it is very helpful for me. I stopped in for the raw probiotics that I have switched to. I used to buy probiotics off the shelf in a store but since I have been using the Raw Probiotics which is refrigerated, I have noticed that it works a lot better. At checkout I signed up for their emails that give coupons and specials and lets you know about the latest radio show. For signing up I received 20 percent off my probiotics making them cheaper than the last time I bought them somewhere else. I am interested in the life extension products and plan on listening to the show about them. The older I get, the more I want to learn about diet and nutrition. A friend told me about this store and I finally made it to the store . The store is in Margate off of 441 and in a shopping center with adequate parking . The store has lots of vitamins and from different brands. The store has skin and hair products as well as food. Diego helped me find the zinc I was looking for and other vitamins I needed. Everything was priced right not a rip off store. Found out they also have a radio show broadcasting live Al Forman and Janet Cimmorelli You can order what you need and then pick it up too. I found this place by accident as I was going to Penn Dutch which is now out of business. The place is located just to the left as you enter the shopping plaza. They sell mostly vitamins and some other food and non edible healthy products like soap, toothpaste, eco laundry detergent etc. Place is relatively small as compared to a similar store called Tunies. About ten aisles. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. All questions answered. Prices are very reasonable. You can join to be a member for free. Members get 15 percent off their purchases every day. There is a dietician on certain days for consultations on health at no charge in a private room. I like coming here. No hustle or bustle just very good service. They carry name brands. All quality vitamins. I would most definitely recommend this store. read more

I LOVE this place! The prices are great! The service is great! My son had surgery, so I needed special products for him. I spoke with Sally, who was extremely helpful! Then every time I came back, she remembered me and always asked how my son was doing. The owner Al, was at the register one time I was there. He just handed me an insulated bag and said it was for special customers, with a wink. They were doing a give-a-away. The prices here are sooooo much better than Tunies or Whole Foods. I moved out of Coral Springs 2 months ago and now live 2 hours north of there, but I make sure I stop in to Save a Lot EVERY time I come back into town! read more

This place has a pretty nice selection of products, it's such a shame their staff is so rude. I've visited on several occasions and have been greeted by no one despite the fact that I was the only one in the store and made eye contact with several employees. I've also had my items tossed at me at the register and my money slid across the counter. Literally zero customer service. If you ask a question, they act like you're bothering them. The staff isn't personable at all. After this many visits with no hint of improvement, I'll be spending my money elsewhere. I don't like the thought of supporting an establishment that can't even spell customer service. read more

Save your time, go to Whole Foods. The employees here suck at customer service. I walked in (I was the only customer in the store), an employee stared at me in the eye and said nothing - not even a hello. Continued to walk around the store, ran into two other employees who were stocking the shelves and they said nothing - didn't greet me, didn't ask if I needed help - nothing. On my way out I asked the employee at the register who was playing on his cell phone if no one who works in the store talks. He rudely responded, "I nodded my head at you when you walked in and the other 2 associates are stocking the shelves." Apparently even mediocre customer service is hard to find. Message to the owners - train your employees better or lose customers. read more

I was highly recommended to the store, specifically because they have a nutritionist on staff. It is a large store with lots of nutritional items. It is clean and bright. Prices seemed reasonable and they were offering an additional 15% discount on everything , probably because of COVID. I found out that I had to sign in and wait for my turn with the nutritionist, which was fine - after all, the consultation was going to be free. While walking around to bide my time, two employees asked if I needed assistance. Yet, whenever the nutritionist came out to invite in another customer, she did not once acknowledge that folks were waiting or give an indication how long she might be. From the customer sign in times, she appeared to be taking a long time with each customer, so I had to leave to take care of another errand; but, I went back later in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I didn't find that it was worth the wait. I think she was tired after seeing so many customers. She was unfocused, didn't really appear to be knowledgeable simply wrote the names of some protein weight loss products on a piece of paper - clearly suggesting I should buy them at this store. I did not get any solid nutrition tips. Since she was so highly recommended I was quite disappointed. This is not to say that I wouldn't patronize the store if I was looking for something they sell. It was just that I didn't know what I needed and I didn't get the help I was seeking. read more

Every time we come here we save a lot. These are the best prices we've seen anywhere. Some items are half price of Whole Paycheck. Most everything here is high quality and top name brands. I absolutely love Sav-A-Lot! Today I met with Janet, their in-house nutritionist (for those of you from Coral Springs, she was at Tunie's). Anyway, after spending some time in her office (free of charge!), she gave me some sound nutrition tips and helped me select a good multi-vitamin and some supplements that I was wanting to try. I told her about some supplements that I already had at home and was taking, so she said to just finish those and then purchase what I needed in the future. In other words, she wasn't trying to just sell vitamins. I thought that was refreshing (even though I knew I wasn't going to buy something that I did not need). Point is, she was helpful and very practical. Once I was done selecting what I needed, I walked around a bit looking at some of their essential oils, etc. and twice someone came to ask me if I needed help. Everyone was super helpful and nice! I saved quite a bit over what I would have spent at Whole Foods, and even via Amazon (I checked when I got home, and I only found 1 product to be more expensive than what it's sold for on Amazon). Overall, I am very happy with the prices, it's somewhat close-by location to my home, and the fact that I can discuss my selections with Janet. I will definitely buy additional products as needed from them vs. just going blindly to Amazon or even Whole Foods. read more

I love this place! The owner Al is the guy who opened Tunies out in west Coral Springs and sold it and now opened this place. They have so many vitamins and the best prices that I have seen for high-quality vitamins anywhere. I especially like the brand that they carry called Vitamin Code since they are made completely from fruits, vegetables, and plants and nothing synthetic in them. Every employee is SO nice and so helpful always. They have extremely clean bathrooms which is nice because I have a 1 year old and have to change him sometimes when I am there and you never want to have to do that in a dirty bathroom. I buy all of my vitamins here as well as snacks, flours, pasta, almond butter, cleaning products, toothpaste, soap, and many other items for me and my family. read more
