Our group of 4 had the entire place to ourselves! My experience was the most hands-on. I made a paperweight. I was able to dip molten glass into colors, roll it, pull the glass like taffy, shape it & flatten the bottom. With the instructor at the ready to save you or your project and take over when needed! And they engrave your name and date on the bottom of the paperweight! The rest of the group did blown glass pumpkins. After watching my project they learned the glass blowing is just that. The instructor get the glass, colors it, inserts it into a mold - then brings it to a stand for you to blow. It's kind over in a minute - but the pumpkins are spectacular! My granddaughter made a small pumpkin & the instructor immediately had her make another larger one! The pumpkin stem is made by twisting molten glass around a pipe, so the instructor does that difficult part. The projects need to cure (cool down) to be picked up the next day. What's fun is you can't really tell what the colors are until you pick it up! They sell all types of blown glass objects at a better price than that of downtown shops. Ann was a pleasure to work with. She answered all of my questions with great patience and understanding. When I purchased the piece I had confidence that she would follow through and carefully pack my beautiful ceramic sculpture. Little did I know how carefully and thoughtfully she would do this. I was extremely pleased with the way this worked out. What a pleasure to unwrap this, following her directions. I don't think there could have possibly been a better way to pack this very fragile piece. Her care in providing instructions for unpacking the piece (including "TOP -- Do Not Remove") were easy to follow and provided me with a great deal of comfort in that I knew I was doing this correctly. EVERYTHING is PERFECT!! I have no idea if I will ever get to Corning to meet Ann and visit her gallery, but I am so confident in her service that I have purchased an even larger, more expensive piece from her.

We had a run down of all the safety guidelines, what welding is, how to do it and then LOTS of hands on time. More than half the class was actually being able to be hands on and practice welding. We even got a short introduction to TIG and Stick welding as well as a demonstration of the Plasma Cutter.
