I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the lack of communication and support we have…read morereceived from the leasing office at Bella Vista Apartments. My daughter recently applied and was approved for an apartment at Bella Vista. She chose this property specifically because of its proximity to her workplace and our home. However, since receiving approval, we have been given no guidance on the next steps in the move-in process. Both my daughter and I have made multiple attempts to contact the leasing office by phone and email, yet we have received no response. This is extremely concerning, particularly considering that application fees have already been paid. If it is this difficult to reach someone before becoming a tenant, it raises serious concerns about the level of service and responsiveness residents can expect after moving in. After reading several online reviews about the property, my hesitation has only increased. This property is relatively new, and it is unacceptable that prospective and current residents would experience such a lack of communication and attention.

Avoid this deceptive complex at all costs. They will sell you an experience that is not reflective…read moreof reality. Here's a peek into my experience living here: - Apartment was not ready due to mold, and the manager was not going to do anything until we told them we were practically homeless (given all our belongings were in a U-Haul outside). - They send out weekly reminders on how to control the climate in your apartment, when the real issue is the A/C unit leaking. This causes water damage and bio growth. - Unit did not have the proper flooring we were told it would have. - Unit was not cleaned or painted prior to move-in. - Gate was not fixed in 2 years and was still inoperable upon my move-out. There were several altercations, including the murder of an 18 year old boy, due to the lack of security. - Maintenance requests, if even responded to, were not solved and just given a band aid. They would vacuum the A/C drain pan but not solve the leaking unit itself. - Parking is a nightmare. Have fun walking through the complex back to your unit. - Complex is loud and unaccommodating. - Gym equipment stays broken and unusable. - Trash management is a struggle. They employ a trash valet service but other tenants do not adhere to the rules and end up making the area smell like a dumpster. - The dumpster overflows for 3 days every week, while the trash valet has their time off. They shouldn't have to come back from their weekend to such a mess. - No pest control - another promise not kept. They are extremely unorganized and uninformed. Property groups like this one contribute greatly to the housing issue we experience in the United States. Want to talk to them? Good luck. You'll be sent to voicemail every time you call and your email will be unanswered. Too many sketchy things happen with the property management and community itself. Do yourself a favor and continue apartment hunting, crossing this complex off your list.

After days of calling for information, they finally answered the phone and I went ahead and submitted an application. I waited a week and started calling them again. After two weeks of calling and not answering the phone, I never received an answer about my application. I had to move forward on obtaining a place to stay since I was relocating. Customer service lacked greatly. They were rude and never had the correct information for me. I was told I was approved but then she thought I was someone else and after looking in the system was told my application had not been ran. After additional callbacks, no answer was given and they stop answering the phone. Why are you taking peoples money and not running their application. Train your staff and follow through on processing applications on time. It should not take a month, or more, to process an application. I went to another apartment and got an answer within 24 hrs, deposit and all fess paid the following day and lease signed. That's how it should be with great customer service. I will be calling corporate to get my money back since they never followed through with my application or their process.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with The Metropolitan Apartments was appalling…read moreand blatantly discriminatory. I brought my elderly, disabled mother--who uses a walker and has dementia-- last week to tour an apartment to assess its accessibility. Despite providing my driver's license as her caregiver, the leasing agent demanded my mother's ID. I explained she doesn't have one due to her obvious disabilities, but the manager refused to let us view the property. The manager initially claimed it was a legal requirement. When I challenged this false statement and pointed out that it was discriminatory against disabled elderly persons, she abruptly changed her story and said it was now "company policy" not to allow anyone over 18 without an ID. I countered by explaining that I had toured at least 9 competing properties in the area, all of which accepted just my driver's license without issue. None of them demanded an ID from my mother, given her very visible disability and the fact that she could barely stand, even with a walker. Yet The Metropolitan refused to make any accommodation. This company's behavior was uniquely cruel and highlights their blatant discrimination against disabled elderly persons. Their lack of compassion or willingness to accommodate someone with obvious physical limitations is disgraceful. If you or a loved one have special needs, avoid this place at all costs--they clearly have no interest in treating people with dignity or respect.

They charge Miami pricing yet don't give you Miami service or amenities. The herb garden they talk about is three grates on top of wood chips- it's not a garden. Our apartment is completely rundown while paying a premium of this alleged "luxury experience". They like to focus on the pool a lot which is a nice pool however it's always busy so if you want quiet time, you can forget it. There are a lot of shady characters roaming around quite often as well as people tailgating in the parking lot and breaking down the entrance and exit gates at least three times a month. There is no assigned parking, it's just a free for all. If you want a private one car garage you can rent one @ $250 a month which again is almost double what most buildings in south beach are charging. The building just really isn't worth the price or the hype via the website.
