Regardless of the fact, the staff at The Manor in Plantation is very friendly and attentive. Blanca Reyes is always available to answer any questions or concerns and made the moving transition as easy as possible. The Manor is well localized- about a block from Publix, a mile from Target, a mile from Westfield Mall, and access to highways is not far away. The apartment itself is immaculate- granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and full size washer and dryers. The grounds are well kept, and the interior is always clean. Overall, I am impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the upkeep of the complex, the apartment, and the amenities for the price.

Prior to paying the processing fee of $85 which is not refundable, you are prompted to call the management office of Sonata to verify income to rent ratio. In fact, this is mandatory as your application can not move forward unless you speak to someone who after verifying your income will enable your application to continue in the system. I did this and the woman enabled my application to continue. I assumed I was pre-screened by Sonata so I would not have an issue financially to qualify for a rental. In fact, I applied under the 30% single occupant income. So I completed the application, uploaded all documents including ID's , bank statements and tax forms which verified my qualifying income. Unfortunately much to my chagrin, I received an email from RentGrow that my application was rejected due to insufficient income. Mind you, my bank statements include 6 figures in liquid cash, more than enough to cover an entire 12 lease. My credit score is 750+ with zero credit card debt or any delinquencies. My tax form indicates my income for the year which also falls under the qualifying level for an apartment for a single occupant under the 30% restriction. As such, I have filed a dispute with my credit card for the $85 amount, documenting this discrepancy in procedure and inconsistency in processing which is entirely unfair and potentially discriminatory. I would never have applied and wasted my time and processing fee if the person who I called to pre-screen informed me of the income issue. It makes no sense since I was allowed to proceed with the application by Sonata after they verified my income verbally on the phone. To me, this is dubious and suspect. I will look to filing a complaint with the BBB and the Florida Attorney General regarding this practice. Something is amiss in this whole process. Be forewarned when applying here.

Both do a wonderful job and go above and beyond maintaining the residence and attending to me and my children needs as a resident. Everyone here is professional. Maintenance is great, quick responses and communications is superb. Property maintenance is wonderful. Apartments layouts couldn't ask for more. I love my balconies. Yes, I said balconies, I have 2 not 1 but 2. Overall, my living experience here from day 1 has been great. My management team needs a raise, they are awesome... 20 out of 20!

She listens, she acts accordingly, and then she follows up. She's efficient, dependable, consistent and very patient. Customer service isn't always easy, but Ana makes things that much easier for residents. Her help is very much appreciated! Later on I found mold spreading in living room and kitchen. They came to fix. V in the office is very helpful and fast responses. They sprayed chemical stuffs on the wall and repainted it. They changed a/c unit and clean the duct also. I went on vacation during Christmas and new year. When I came back I found mold around refrigerator and cabinets. I informed the office. I had to wait for Mindy (V's boss) to come back from vacay to make decision because I want to transfer to other room or terminate the contract. Money came back on January 8, 2020. She cannot make decision and passed me to her boss, Sarah. Sarah called me while I was at work. She told me that "it is my responsibility to clean mold in the kitchen just like I clean my bathroom. Mold in the kitchen is common in Southern Florida". I couldn't believe what I heard so I asked all my coworkers if it is common around here to have mold developing in the kitchen? They all said "NO". Sarah refuses to transfer or terminate my contract. Be aware if you are planning to move to this apartment. It is very old and mold could be a big problem. I will record everything and keep fighting until I can get out of this apartment without penalty. I hope Sarah' family (children or grandchildren) doesn't have to go through this problem like me. My fiancé and I have lived on this property for four years. Within the last couple of years we have experienced our vehicles broken into a total of four times. Last month being the most recent. Today being the fifth time we have been violated. Over the last few years, I have seen multiple cars sitting on cinder blocks due to the wheels being stolen, car windows broken, and air bags ripped out and stolen from different vehicles. These are not "isolated cases" as management would like you to believe. Nor does management make these reoccurring situations public to the community that reside at Plantation Colony Apartments. I've asked numerous times if we could have a courtesy officer patrol the community? The answer was "no"...Could we have cameras installed facing the parking lot? The answer was "no"...Maybe have a gate installed? The answer was "no". Although, the office has security cameras facing each entry into the building, as well as the indoor gym. The management team deem's their safety extremely important, enough to have cameras. If you see something, say something. Thank you.
