We purchased and own all the sensors plus the board for our Vivint home security system. We purchased them back in 2017 when we lived in Mississippi. After having the system installed we found out the doorbell/camera did not work, approximately 6 months after installation. I called and was told a new one would be installed that the original doorbell/camera was an old model that should not have been used. I asked if this would change our contract and was told No. We sold our home in 2020 just before the contract should have ended, I called, said we were moving and did not have an address as of yet. Put the service on hold for 6 months. We bought our new him, talked to Vivint and was told I had added 2 years to my contract when we had the new doorbell/camera installed. We ended up with a 5 year contract instead of 3 which is what I initially signed for. Now trying to cancel them as the contract was up in February and it is a joke. I called in January, did all the phone stuff and thought we were good. Now remember I own my own equipment and still had an extra fee to pay for canceling on top of the regular monthly fee for February. I was still charged in March and they claim I never canceled, yet I have the bank statement with fees that state otherwise. Do not use Vivint, scammer. As you can see the Vivint Reviews department made a request. I did email them and have never heard back. Proof they just continue scamming. read more

Vivint sells items you will never need ! They got me for 4000 dollars for 400 worth of equipment ! Then constant false alarms ! Thermostat was installed wrong per the installer . Then after 1 year had to move , Vivint wanted me to wait months for the uninstall and reinstall , was told 149 for this then turned into 149 twice . The new installer at the new residence didn't have a drill for the installation not the signs of a professional company !!! In addition to the 4000 dollars they told me I needed another sensor ! Another 50 dollars and was told that would be 20 percent off which Vivint would not honor . SMH . Then was giving 1 month before being constantly harassed for a bal of 191 !! I explained to at least 10 ppl at Vivint that I'm in a hurricane devastated ares after Hurricane Helene and have been unable to work bc of the storm ( the ppl at Vivint DO NOT CARE ! No sympathy for if you're involved in a natural disaster . Was told pay 49.37 that I paid .. THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER A PAYMT THEY STARTED TELLING ME PAY .THE BALANCE IN 10 days or your service will be turned off . Nasty !!! Then told me pay 71.50 10 days later and at least another 71.50 by 12 days after that . We had a Vivint system installed Thomasville Ga. We did not like it and had buyers remorse. The salesman lied, omitted and misled us about the fact that if you did not cancel the system within a certain time limit, you would be obligated to pay for the equipment or the collections dept. would come after you and it would hurt your credit. When we realized we had a short time to cancel, the comp. canceled 3 appts. for a tech to remove everything. We were on the phone numerous times trying to reach someone. There have been Vivint sales People soliciting our neighborhood for weeks. When they knocked on our door the first time, we told the man we did not need a security system, as we already have one. He was persistent, and we had to tell him two more times before he left. Today, a different salesman showed up and peeked through our front window to see me sitting on the couch with my newborn BEFORE he rang the doorbell. He then continued peeking through the window and waved at me until I came to the door and answered. I, again, had to be very persistent in that we do not need a security system. This door-to-door solicitation is unacceptable in the first place, but for a salesman to peek into my windows, see me with a baby, and wait for me to answer the door while he continues to watch me is absolutely abhorrent. I will never purchase a Vivint system for that reason alone. read more
