Went to this adorable French bakery for the first time this summer. I've gone to Indian Shores for the last three years and this was my first time visiting. I got the almond croissant. It was delectable!! So good, in fact, that in spite of there being a multitude of bakeries to choose from in the area, I went back again the next day. And again on my way back home. Five days, three visits. In addition to the almond croissant, I tried their macarons, coconut muffin things (I do not know what they're actually called), and a savory Parisian crepe. Everything was delicious! Every time I went, I got my orders to-go, but they had plenty of room to dine in and a lovely outdoor dining space, as well. The employees were cheerful, happy to help, very sweet. I wish I'd gotten the name of the "traveling artist" employee who made my visits so much better because of her fabulous positive energy. This place is really popular. I went at a time when they weren't busy. I ordered a latte and an almond croissant. The croissant some great, good bake, plenty of almonds but inside was an almond colored cream. Not much almond taste and very messy/lots of it. It was disappointing. As I was driving away I found my latte was more like a coffee with a ton of milk. Latte does not sound like cafe au lait or coffee with a ton of milk. Overall disappointing and won't likely return. I'm guessing it's just popular as it's in IRB walking distance from all the beach rentals. read more

I forgot to say no whole milk for my latte because I'm allergic and asked the barista if I could get oat milk. He reluctantly agreed and I immediately felt uncomfortable. Really good French bakery! The crepes are excellent, as are the sandwiches. Limited service- You order at the cashier and they bring your plate(s) to the table. You dispose of the dishes afterwards. It's a homey atmosphere. Prices are a bit high but that's becomes common these days. read more

We stayed near this bakery on our recent trip and every morning had breakfast from here. Loved everything we tried. It was fresh and delicious. We tried Sandwich in Croissant - with egg. Delicious it had some cheesy sauce that made it so delicious. Comes with salad. Nice touch, although mixed greens or arugula would be better than lettuce. Plain Croissant, Almond/Choc Croissant both were good. So was everything else. Highly recommend you try this place in Indian shores. It's a busy place early morning. Voila Merci is a true gem on the beach! The sourdough & French baguettes have us popping in weekly. It's our favorite bread. The desserts, cappuccino, and food are all super delicious. This place is amazing. My friends and I went after 10 but it wasn't packed and it was so spacious. They have a bakery, have coffee, offer lunch, and even serve ice cream. The puff pastries are so delicious it seems as though they make it the same day. Would definitely recommend and come here again!!! The only thing is I would offer to warm up pastries for patrons because my apple tart would have been better warmed up. read more

Made a coffee run here with the fam before starting our road trip to the keys. We got two iced lattes, a chocolate croissant, and a sandwich. When we were waiting for a food there was another customer complaining about their drinks being too salty? I was confused too but it seemed like the workers fixed it right away and they seemed to leave satisfied. In addition to the wonderful savory brunch and lunch options, the café offers an incredibly lovely selection of pastries and sweet treats that make it hard to choose just one. Very high noise level inside - I had to shout to endure that the person behind the counter understood our pastry order. The pastries are as good as you would find elsewhere, but the coffees are not. Both our lattes had an odd taste as though they were made with not-so-fresh milk, and the "mocha" was made with Hershey's chocolate syrup. Parking is also inadequate for the size of the bakery. I got to bring my dog, which was really a plus , the food is so beautiful on the plate and that shows how much they care. I was very excited to give this place a try as I saw they had crepes on the menu. I took a trip to France in March of 2008 and have been on a quest for Parisian Street Crepes (in particular, a lovely jambon fromage one) since in the States. I held out hope this was it. I am sad to report, this was not it. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The ambiance was a wonderful little coffee shop environment. However, the crepe I got, the "Paris" crepe, appeared on the menu to be the jambon fromage crepe I have been longing for (ham, cheese and egg) but it was more like an omellette to me. If the thin pancake crepe was in there somewhere, it was smothered by all the scrambled egg. It tasted good but it just wasn't what I was hoping for. I also had a cup of hot coffee, which is self serve and bottomless. I wish I'd had more time to come back and try the pastries because they had a nice variety and those looked very good. However, I discovered Indian Shores Coffee not long after this visit and, from a hot food standpoint, they quickly earned my repeat business. read more

As for the pastries, great selection; but get there before closing, they go fast, especially on weekends. Pastries are super flakey, light and so tasty. This is a must stop (more than once) on our monthly St Pete visits plus a last stop on way home to Orlando for snacking on the I-4 nightmare. Heading that way next week and mouth is already watering. I don't think I can do this place justice with words alone. The pastries are incredible and we literally tried them all. Freshly baked, served warm. I have never tasted anything as good in my life. I'm serious. I don't live in the area and I actually considered trying to figure out how I could ship some of their food to the Chicagoland area. Outside of the food, the service is excellent.
