I started Maya's DBT class in late July & love it! I have been in two other DBT programs & Maya is by far the BEST of the three. The culture she sets up in class is open & promotes participants to share deeply on the material. Her insights are informative, making connections between topics & skills, which give everyone "ah-ha" moments. Maya is direct, encouraging, & shows us how to be powerful within ourselves to make effective decisions as well as changes in our perspectives & behaviors in a meaningful & lasting way. Her approach is unique & highly effective. I love her set up of everything. In addition to class time, she holds extra time after every class for people to further clarify points or get extra support & sets up extra time on other days for the same purpose (for free!). I also started 1:1 coaching with her to get myself in order & specifically to address and reduce my borderline personality disorder traits. Our goal is to get my symptoms so low that I no longer qualify for the diagnosis. Thus far, we have had three of eight sessions and I am already experiencing positive changes.
