Within several days he was able to get the permit and begin the work. He replaced my electrical panel, installed a surge protector and installed smoke detectors throughout my house. I've had the great pleasure of working with Franz to schedule work to be done which included securing permits. The permit process was more difficult than it needed to be and Franz was there every step of the way. He worked diligently to secure the information the town inspector requested from PSE&G and communicated with the town to ensure the information was received and the permit issued, all the while keeping me updated throughout. Franz Gonzalez / Volt-Tech Electric: A Nightmare Contractor Experience I've never written a negative review in my life. I've owned my home for 24 years and have done five major renovations and countless small jobs. But after working with Franz Gonzalez of Volt-Tech Electric, I feel a responsibility to warn other homeowners. We hired Franz to fix several non-working outdoor lights -- a straightforward job. What followed was a mess: * Five wall-mounted lights installed completely wrong * Gray epoxy smeared across a hand-laid natural stone wall * Mounts exposed, tan epoxy and wood jammed in as a "solution" * Lights not wired to the house switches * Broken fixtures left on the ground * Still non-working lights And worst of all? Zero accountability. Just a stream of excuses, like "it's on a timer," or my personal favorite: "jiggle the wire." We paid in full, but now we're hiring a stonemason to fix the damage and considering small claims court. I don't say this lightly: do not hire Volt-Tech Electric. Franz Gonzalez does not take pride in his work, and it shows in every corner he cuts. read more
