I love the wire jewelry they have there. The glass is amazing as well but with my youngsters I lean towards things they can't break.

When I walked into Volta, I was greeted by Kelly Howard and gravitated toward the most recent addition to her collection.

We have visited Freed Gallery a couple of times. It's what I would call a small, neighborhood feel…read moregallery. It's very laid back and relaxed for being an art gallery. I really like the style. It's not pushy sales people like you find in Carmel and other coastal towns. I wasn't swept into a room and offered champagne. The sales staff allows you to walk around and view without harassment. At one point we were asked if we would like to take a picture of some art we like. Some Fine Arts Museums have changed their policies and now allow photography in parts of their permanent collections. However, they typically ban all photography in special exhibitions, which are often the main reason people are visiting. Galleries are trying to sell art so typically pictures would be ban. I appreciated the gesture. We practiced the best self-control we possibly could however after falling in love with this picture the first visit we had to purchase the second visit. Dreams of Ancients Acrylic on canvas By dusanka kralj We made an offer that we thought was reasonable. The manager at the gallery contacted the artist and before we could get back to Portland our offer was accepted. It was simple and easy. We arranged a pickup date instead of having it delivered. I would recommend stopping in if you're in the area. You never know what piece might catch your attention.

Glass Blowing is something I've always wanted to try. At 61 years young, I thought the experience…read morewas beyond my reach. To say I was thrilled to try it on vacation, is an understatement! Lincoln City Glass Center's website is easy to maneuver and schedule an appointment. The "hot shop" is immaculate and the employees are attentive and professional. Once your item is selected, and the colors and glass pattern are determined, your teacher will take you on the floor to begin. The teacher was patient and so amiable. 30-minutes later you will have a completed hand-blown art piece. Glass needs to cool down in an annealer overnight for pick-up the following morning. I was concerned about my item breaking in my suitcase when flying home, and I was told they could ship it to me. They are so accommodating! Glass blowing at Lincoln City Glass Center was the highlight of my vacation! If I return to the area, I will definitely blow glass again!

It turned out stunning and is now one of our favorite keepsakes from the trip. The staff is patient, friendly, and great at guiding you through every step. Even if you have never worked with glass before, they make the process easy and enjoyable. Watching the artists work is incredible and creating your own piece makes the experience feel even more special. If you want a unique, creative activity on the coast, I highly recommend the Lincoln City Glass Center. It is welcoming, inspiring, and something you will remember forever.
