On line description, emails, and phone description did not mention screw holes from a previously installed trapeze tailpiece. I was told that all notes at all frets played clearly. Buzzing at frets 8, 9, and 12 on various strings, and 2 strings played 13th fret when fretted at 12th.

Cory provided exceptional customer service, bringing over an equally friendly tech to help build the cost estimate for me. A thorough cleaning for additional cost was offered but not insisted upon. Cory made it easy to set up an account for this and future work. I found KBI Music Shoppe to be clean, well laid out, cheery and inviting. I noticed a fair amount of novelty themed gifts for sale, like sheet-music socks and musician humor stickers, that made me smile.

She brought in two solid 18k gold rings, each valued at over $400, with a combined value of more than $800. She only needed a small loan of $200. Life got busy, and she was just one day late on a renewal payment. She even called, asking -- practically begging -- to either extend the loan or pay it off in full to retrieve her rings. But by then, the price of gold had climbed, and now her rings are worth over $1,000. There was no way this greedy owner was going to let her get them back. But here's the real issue: even at the time of the transaction, one of the rings alone was worth more than $400 -- more than enough to cover the $200 loan. A decent, honest person would have told her that one ring was enough. Instead, this scumbag knowingly took both rings, fully aware he was taking advantage of her. When I called to confront him and asked why he didn't speak up and tell my wife she didn't need to pawn both rings, his response was simply, "I don't do that." Shaking my head -- that alone proves this man is a lowlife and an indecent human being who has no problem preying on others for a quick buck. Stay far away from this place. Protect yourself and your loved ones.

I was encouraged to browse, told about the pieces in shop, and had an interesting conversation with one of the owners about his passion for his craft. Ponshop is owned by husband-and-wife artist duo Gabriel and Scarlett Pons (making the gallery's name that much cuter). Scarlett creates the unique ceramics on display: spouted bowls, blossom-shaped dishes, watering pitchers with what looks like Bob Marley's likeness stamped on the sides, decorative vases, and even hand puppets made from clay and fabric. Gabriel works in mixed-media, putting prints, photographs, and paint on wood, or designing one-of-a-kind skateboards. Along with showcasing their own art, the two feature the works of many other local artists from tee-shirts and jewelry, to plush toys, reusable gift "paper", sculpture, and even soaps. The art in Ponshop is provocative and avant-garde, but the whole place feels down-to-earth and welcoming. I really enjoyed poking around and purchased what I've since dubbed a "scarf-lace" since I'm not really sure *what* it is: a many-looped-and-knotted scarf/necklace made from soft jersey material in heather gray and carnation pink stripes. They were more than patient on the phone helping me to explain to a shipper that the item was going to a legit FFL and that this is in congruence with law/company policy. I entrusted this jeweler with four custom rings made from my late mother's diamonds for her four…read moregranddaughters. A few years later, one ring lost its diamond. Thankfully, we found it and brought it back to the same jeweler for repair. Three days after picking it up, the head of the ring detached and the diamond was lost forever. When I returned, I was told, "The head was weak and that happens." No apology. No accountability. I was later told they "can't predict the future." Despite the rings being originally made there and the repair failing within days, I was charged again to fix it using one of the last remaining stones from my mother's jewelry. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. The lack of care, craftsmanship, and basic empathy during an incredibly emotional situation was shocking. I will never return and strongly recommend taking your business to the jeweler across the street.
