I provided notice of the cancellation, yet this establishment still charged my credit card. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion and understanding shown during such a difficult time. In my experience, the business demonstrated little sensitivity toward unforeseen life events and customer circumstances. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking with this establishment. BEWARE!!

Ann cooks a REAL breakfast each morning, eggs Benedict with sausage, pancakes etc. She also will cater to a special diet like mine. There is a separate kitchen, and living area for guests a jscuzzi and spa. We were walking distance to town and all the sights. Ann provided us with the best way to go and maps etc. As well as hikes. Can't say enough about the place. Glad we stayed here. Very reasonable price too!

We reserved well ahead of time and sent a check. She had to call and ask us to send another one because we made it out to her business and not her personally and her bank wouldn't cash it. We asked to reserve the upper room for two. When we arrived the owner was friendly, knowledgeable about local history, and helpful about places to eat and shop. Unfortunately we were given a basement room without any explanation and there was only one other guest staying. We hated that breakfast is a must come at X time. We are more independent than that and would have preferred a continental option to being roused early on a slow day for us. We weren't shown around the upper levels so we didn't know where the jacuzzi was. We had long days so it was too late to ask when we returned for the night. The place is unlocked all the time and our room was not safe. It was cutely decorated but tiny and cramped with extension cords everywhere and no emergency egress. The bathroom was never cleaned during our 3-day stay and there was hair on the floor and in the tub. Our room was freezing and had a little electric heater to plug in. Despite beautiful weather we had to run it the whole time we were there and we keep our house cold back home (below 65F) elsewhere in Alaska. There was a strange man around the property at times and the owner was arguing with him a lot so it was uncomfortable. Check out was weird because we were leaving early in the morning and so we caught the owner the day before and let her know. There were no keys to turn in so all we had to do was leave. There aren't a lot of choices in Sitka but we will stay elsewhere next time because as fellow business owners it offended us that the owner talked about skirting rules to cut costs. We have researched B&Bs since then and it's scary how few comply.

We were picked up at the main dock in town, and took a very short boat ride to the island. We were greeted by two waiters who had hot towels and cocktails ready for us as we pulled in and escorted us to the dining cabin. The executive chef came out to greet us, all by name, and asked us if we had any dietary restrictions. He was prepared to make anything from raw, palio, vegan, vegeterian, etc. The dinner was delicious! The whole experience was very personalized and relaxing. I would highly recommend to treat yourself to a dinner or stay for a special occasion!

I am very disappointed in their response to why I missed my fishing trip. I was at the airport on…read moremy way to Sitka when I had a medical emergency. I was transported to the hospital emergency room. I passed out at the airport, therefore I did not make the trip. I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. This would have been my 9th trip with Angling Unlimited. I have been a loyal returning customer. When I called to see if I could get a credit towards next year I was told that "it is not,our policy". There are exceptions to every policy made. I feel like I've been loyal to them for eight plus years and they would not bend their policy to help me out! If they would have offered a 50% credit, I would have been happy with that. I am so disappointed in their response. I was told that because there was only 3 fishermen on our boat that they couldn't do anything for me, but I know within our group, which had a total of three boats that one of the boats had only 3 fishermen on it. This charter company isn't the run of the mill type of business. It's a boutique charter company that prides itself in customer service. From the moment you step off the plane in Sitka until the day you leave, you are treated with the best customer service imaginable. The Captains at AU are all seasoned Captains. Each fishing group is assigned a hostess to make sure your needs are met. You have a car to use to sightsee, shop or go to dinner after a full day of fishing. The rooms have kitchens and porches have BBQ'S. There's not much, if anything, that they don't provide for you. I can't guarantee that you will catch your limit of fish each day but I can guarantee a great experience...
