During our summer cruise, when I saw they had a golf course at one of the stops, Sitka, I had to book us! Wasn't sure what to expect but it exceeded our expectations! I was able to reserve everything via email. Easy enough and the price was great for 4 to golf 9 holes with pick up from port and back. It was $120/person and was a great price compared to other excursions, and who doesn't want to say they went golfing in Alaska! Different from the norm and we loved it! Once we arrived in port, I received a call where to meet our driver. He was super friendly and a quick and easy drive to the course. It was only about 10-15 minutes away. As soon as we got there we walked into the clubhouse to check in and get our gear. The clubs and cart were clean and gently used. We're not pros so it worked for us! We started off with drinks before the range and then to our 9 holes. Range is standard, warmed up and off we went. Greens and Tee boxes are astroturf which I totally get with weather they get. But the views are amazing. Pictures don't do it justice, it's absolutely breathtaking!!! Some steep rides up hill but the golf carts made it! Half way through we were back at the clubhouse for a break and some tasty hot dogs and beer! Bathrooms were clean which is always a plus!! The staff was amazing! Back to the course and forgot which hole, I believe 4 or 5 and you're at the very top of the mountain driving your ball to the hole below. Absolutely amazing!! Definitely a fun experience you have to try to say you did!! The weather was perfect that day for us! Hope to visit again some day!! read more

I have no clue why this place only gets three stars. The customer service here was off the charts. Bianca went out of her way to come and get us at the cruise port (just the two of us). We golfed this nine hole course (extraordinary views) which is extremely tough. If you're afraid of heights, don't come here because it's very steep and a Rugged terrain - this is not Saint Andrews links. You're in Sitka. The golf course is only open for about three or four months a year. It's mostly run by volunteers. But we had such a wonderful trip. Bianca is a one-man show here I do think they need stuff at the pro shop. They need Koozies for beer a price for buckets of beer and some other things however what they do have was really nice range balls we're only six dollars a bucket. We will be back. read more

Played this challenging course (crazy elevation changes) with some friends while in town for a fishing charter. The golf cart paths were steep in places, but it rewarded you with incredible views from the top. The clubhouse staff were very helpful and friendly. Sure, there were artificial turf greens (but this is Alaska with long hard winters) and this unique course made for a very fun outing amongst friends. read more

Great golf course. Very beautiful scenery and views. Very fun day with my grandson while we were in port. Mike and Byanka were great and very friendly. The course shuttle will pick you up at your cruise ship and either drop you back off at the port of in town if you want to go there. Byanka helped with my tee time and was very helpful. Golfed at Sea Mountain today. Played 18 with sunny sunny weather. The gods are smiling upon us this week. Anyways, I would give 10 stars to the views and the views and did I mention the views from the golf course? I would then give the golf 4 stars as its challenging and narrow that really makes a bogey golfer like me think twice before I close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. The elevation changes are brutal but very satisfying if you hit a good shot. You need to shoot straight as even a slight fade or draw might leave your ball to the spruces and salmonberry bushes. As for the greens, well, if there were negative stars thats what they would get. They are astroturf and not the good stuff. they are so hard you could get a 3-on-3 basketball game on them if there was a hoop and a free point line. one of the holes is on a slope such that if you putt uphill and miss, the ball will roll right back to you. Again, and Again, and yet again. I would instill the 2 putt rule on this course. That being said, it is a golf course in alaska and for that i give it 3 solid stars. Beware of the eagles and ravens picking up your ball for a snack. Oh, and there might be bears on the course. I would let them play though. read more
