Losing a pet is one of the hardest losses. A pet cannot tell you when they're sick or how they're…read morefeeling, you have to make an educated guess and pray you've made the proper decision. But in all that, Martensons Family Pet Services made sure my babies were cared for uniquely and with genuine care. This review has been a long time coming. Dealing with the loss of a pet is difficult. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of using Martensons Family Pet Services twice in 3 years. Most recently, this past November our baby, Phineas, had to make his walk across the rainbow bridge. My husband and I were a wreck. Struggling with this decision we knew we needed to make, living through the experience of his passing, and trying not go insane with grief was and is a battle i struggle with still. But, Donnie... Donnie was something else. He cared for my little man with immense care and walked us through the process with such kindness and empathy. Donnie had told us that he, too, understood our heartbreak as he was grieving the loss of his own pet within that last month. Donnie understood exactly where we were mentally and did everything he could to provide us with the least amount of stress and worry. Donnie took it upon himself to even bring my baby back home to me the same day. We are forever grateful for that. I will miss Phineas for the rest of my life. Thank you Donnie for all your help during that unfortunate time and thank you Martenson's Family Pet Services for bringing such a wonder person to help people in their time of grief.

They were so helpful with recommendations with keeping our feelings foremost. At the actual mass the director notice I had not said my goodbye to my mother as she laid in state. He made sure that I did and never made feel rushed. They were there every step of the way from collecting my mother's body to laying her to rest at the cemetery. Again They never rushed us in anyway, giving us time to grieve in our own way Thank you to all the people at Martenson. I would use them again in a heart beat

As a company I think I would have someone nicer being the face everyone sees and talks to when the call or walk in. You almost have to beg them to have your families stone raised up when it sinks. The best thing I found is just ask a person working outside instead of Lori. It seams to be the only way it gets done. And if you are looking to buy a headstone, look elsewhere. From what I found you can find them for half the price somewhere else, even though the salesman made us think we had to buy from them and not from another company.

I have found veterans graves from WW1, WW11, and Viet Nam which were almost covered over. Very sad and disrespectful to our veterans. They may not have families to check on their graves. However, you pay for perpetual care when you purchase your graves. Unless your family is willing to go and trim around your graves, it won't get done. You have to go to the office and tell them if your headstones need lifting because they sink. Otherwise, they will not get lifted. They do cut the grass. Also, they are very strict regarding which headstones you can choose for your grave. We wanted to purchase a one grave stone probably 2 feet high. and we were told it has to be flat. If you want a large headstone and you are in a monument area. You may be ok, they are expensive.

I was not part of the funeral planning for either, so my review is as a family member who's spent several days in this facility. The gentlemen who run the place are extremely friendly and accommodating. They were constantly asking if our family needed anything, which was wonderful. We had access to a full kitchen while there for two three-day stints. We did however have to bring our own utensils/plates/cups, etc. One area of improvement is overall look/feel of the facilities. It's apparent they have not updated anything since the 80s or 90s. The couches, carpet, fixtures... everything is screaming "PLEASE REPLACE ME." My friend's mom said it best "This place could use a 'woman's touch'." Although outdated, it's generally clean. The women's restroom had a full baby changing table, which was nice for the couple women with babies that stopped by to visit. Overall, this is a nice funeral facility for your family. Though it suffers from lack of updating over the years, the upkeep is adequate and the employees friendly during trying times.

If you have any more questions you can reach me at annjohorner2027@gmail.com -thank you have a wonderful day and may God bless you and bless you even more if you stay away from Weiss's funeral home until and boycott them until they correct my son's death certificate.
