My friend had her nails done in September at Vos in Fort Saskatchewan and immediately developed clear signs of infection. She ended up in the hospital and over 30 days received IV antibiotics and repeated drainage. Nearly four months later, she is now returning to the hospital as the nail regrowing is showing signs of infection again. There are serious concerns about hygiene and safety. A nail service should never lead to this level of medical trauma. I would strongly caution others before booking here. read more

This place is terrible. I got my nails done in September 2025, two days later it felt like my digit was on a stove burner while it was on and I could take it off. My digit swelled and turned red and white . I ended up at the hospital due to and infection I got from unsanitized tools. After 4 IV's, 30 days of antibiotics, and the doctor cutting my cuticle open the infection drained.I ended up loosing my real nail. Here we are almost 4 months later after multiple hospital visits,my nail 3/4 of the way grown out and , my digit is swelling,I can see there's building under my new nail again. I will be going back to the hospital to see if they can drain the infection again. read more

The girls there are so accommodating and receptive to your wants and needs. I have sensitive hands and feet and they were very thoughtful whenever I had my pedicures and nail fills. When I got my nails taken off I did not experience any of the previous reviews problems. My nails were soaked off and any filing that was done was very gentle by one of the younger ladies that worked there. Thank you to the girls at Vo's! read more

I was there once to have my eyebrows waxed and tinted. The lady was quite rude to me and said "the tint is very dark so don't complain" I couldn't believe how short she was with me and how she moved my head around. She was quite rough. I almost told her she was very rude; I wish I did. I was upset and didn't want to pay as she ripped a patch of skin from my eyelid! She then became VERY rude and argumentative but one of the men working there stepped in and I didn't have to pay. Since nail salons are scarce in Fort Saskatchewan, I returned a few months later to have my acrylic/gel nails replaced. A man served me and I was disgusted that he had bandaids on a few of his fingers with what looked like psoriasis underneath. What ever happened to gloves? Then he pulled out a strange utensil that looked like it was from a kitchen from the 70's and started to pry and rip the old nails off. It was extremely painful. Now I have a fungal infection under my nails! Don't ask me why I went back and stayed through that as I'm still wondering myself. At least I can warn others of this place. read more

I have been a customer at Vo's for over three years. When I lived in town, I would go every two weeks for a pedi regardless if I needed it or not. This isn't a five star resort spa, this is a nail salon. I have always found it to be clean and the staff to be friendly. I moved away a little over a year ago but come back often to visit and will treat my mom and sisters to a nail day. After not being around for quite a while, the ladies at Vo's greeted me nicely. It's a funny thing how nice it is to be welcomed as a friendly face and that's exactly what happened. I didn't feel like just another pay check. The ladies do quality work, I've never had any issues with the outcome. They are very pleasant with me as I walk in with a pleasant attitude, respecting the ladies in their work space. I find if you go into a business and respect the people doing their jobs rather than treat them as a lowly servant, you're likely to have a better experience. read more

I just have to say I have gone to Vo's nails for 5 years and I will NEVER go back! I left bleeding in four places after a unprofessional and too young of a girl did my pedicure and her Mother did my nails forcefully! VERY UNPLEASANT, RUDE, and disappointed in my $20.00 tip ~ Really? It has been one week today, now just scabs and my nails have snapped off while doing nothing!! There is 1 girl there that is great but she was "apparently" booked when I made my appointment! Then I'm there and she isn't busy and is wondering why I didn't book with her ~ sorry for the rant but ai think everyone needs to know!!!! read more

Well, I had my gel nails removed because I couldn't type very well. The good news is now I can type GREAT, the bad news is I have PTSD from what just happened to me at VO's. I've been here before, and they weren't so bad. This time I simply went in to have some powdered gel nails removed. They must do this all the time, right? Like a Jiffy Lube doing an oil change. She begins by trimming my nails with clippers. She then proceeds to take out a fake nail, cuts it down to a SPEAR "What is she doing" I think to myself... then she begins to TRY AND SEPARATE MY NAIL FROM THE GEL USING THE PLASTIC SPEAR. I'm like what are you doing? Aren't you going to .. .file ?? And then.. SOAK? She gets upset with me. Begins to file my beds and grumbles in Vietnamese. Oh, but the good news is I really missed being spoken about poorly but thank goodness because this technician (and I use this term loosely) begins to speak smack about me with her colleagues. Well, how do I know? Because they're glaring at me and pointing, and you can tell my nail tech is saying "Yeah, I don't know, she wants me to soak them". So I start soaking and I ask her to use one of those pusher thingies to scrape away the gel, it's working magically. No shit. I should be a nail tech if these oil prices keep dropping. Her colleague is now hovering over watching her remove the gel. They're talking about me again. Did I mention she's rough? Well, let me tell you. If you're ever thinking of hiring a dominatrix of sorts, look no further because for 21$ Canadian you can get a special beat down while watching VEVO. Hauled on my hands, squeezed my fingers, and at one point when trimming my nails CUT MY SKIN. I said OUCH you cut me, and she.. wait for it.. FUCKING GIGGLED. Oh, good, I'm glad you're enjoying this. The sad thing is when I got home and checked yelp, sure enough other tales of tragedy of the exact experience. VO Nails, wtf? Why would you ever try and pry the gel off the nails? And $21?? Since when is it $21 to have nails removed? It's like 25 for a fill for Christ sakes. Get your shit figured out because at this rate, you won't last in business. Your customers shouldn't have to tell you how to remove gel nails. read more

The lady who did my nails was rough when filing my nails, caused me to bleed. Got huffy with me when i pulled away. Had to ask twice for rounded square as she jusy filed them a tiny bit and were still sharp. Mind you i had my son sitting on my lap, who behaved very well. Cost me more then i was quoted on the phone, first time there. Wont be going back, my nails are all different lengths, it was like she was trying to get me in and out as fast as she could... Dont recommend going there. Extremely rude and short tempered. read more

I went to Vo's as a new resident of Fort Sask trying to find a place to get my gel nails filled. I went in and the service was pretty disappointing.... the woman at the desk (im assuming the owner or manager) didn't greet my nicely, she barked at me to take my boots off and then where to sit.. My nails looked good when they were done but the gel was applied so thick and after a few days one of the nails broke which has never happened to me EVER in years of having gel nails. I paid $50 plus tax for just a fill, they didn't clean up my cuticles or do a nice hand massage at the end or anything.. The atmosphere wasn't very clean or comfortable and they didn't make any type of an effort to make you feel welcome or that your service was appreciated. I went for a gel manicure today. When I went in there I was told by one of the nail techs who was busy with someone to go sit at a table which she nodded to me to sit at closer to the back. After I sit down, a young lady comes and proceeds to file my nails (I had existing gel shellac on my own nails). I ask her how long she was working at her job, and she says just for the summer til she goes back to school. As she is filing my nails, I get that she isn't a trained aesthetician. After she spends a few minutes filing, the original lady comes to the table and they discuss who will actually DO the manicure(I guess I was just getting the preliminary filing done by the temp). Then, the original lady nods her head behind again to me and tells me to sit at a different table. Because the table was behind me, I didn't see exactly which one it was. When I got up, I saw that the only table available was full of nail dust and debris. I confirm and find out that indeed, that is where I am supposed to sit. When the lady is done the mani she was doing, she comes over and indicates I should put my hands on the table!! You have got to be kidding me I think!! It hasn't been cleaned!! So, I ask her to pls wipe it off, and she proceeds to take a towel and dust it... No spray or anything!! Well, by then I am committed, and I needed to get my nails done before tomorrow.. And being the only nail bar in town, I sucked it up and stayed put. She asked me my name and told me hers, and after that, there was basically no conversation. When it was time to start using the light to set the polish, she brings over this light that I will be placing my hands into that doesn't look like it has been wiped down in years!!! Again, I was rather disgusted!! When it's time to set the polish, she takes my hand and places it in the light.. And I guess I didn't stick it in far enough, as she pushed it in further .. Rather abruptly,. And my long fingers hit the back of the machine. This happened a few times until I realized that if I didn't out my hand in far enough, the light wouldn't come on!! Explaining it to me sure would have helped!!! So, other then asking me if I liked the length of my nails and the finished product, we didn't talk. Not that I expected to have a long chat... I just felt like I was an inconvenience to her and was supremely grossed out about the hygiene. I would never go back, and would be very concerned about getting a pedi and the cleanliness of their chairs, basins and instruments! Thank God I don't live here and have other options in the future!!! read more

I have been going to Vos every 2-3 weeks for the past 3 yrs. I have looked at the pictures posted by the user who said he had kitchen utensils? I'm not sure when those pictures were taken but I can assure clients that there isn't a single station in the shop that has plain 2x4 untreated wood. So either that was taken more than 3 years ago or they aren't from Vos. Yes the owner can be grumpy and abrupt even pushy sometimes. No this shop isn't an Aveda spa. If you want to pay spa prices then go to a spa. If you would like to pay reasonable prices but give up the spa atmosphere then Vos does the trick. They folks are Vietnamese and culturally different. They are there to do nails and get the job done well and quickly. I have always been comfortable with the cleanliness and have been there a number of times at close and even during slow times where the owner and the other gals are cleaning the shop with bleach, wiping down all the stations etc. I see Vong and she has never given me anything less than fantastic service and nails. I won't see anyone else for my nails so I can't comment on the work the other gals do. What I can say is the gals are lovely and the customers seem to be happy. Would I recommend Vos? You bet and I have. read more

This place needs to get shut down by the city. I've experience a similar situation today as some of the other yelpers. I went in to get my nails taken off and I was greeted at the door very rudely and I was told to make an appointment and come back. When I told her that I will go somewhere else because I had plans and didn't want to sit around for 45 minutes, the lady rushed me in and told me to take a seat. She proceeded by telling me to sit straight and get closer to her while she pulled my hands towards her very strongly. Then, she started clipping my nails off in a triangle shape. When I told her again that I'm there to take the nails off (her English sucked) she said "I know that's what I'm doing" and then like the other yelper, she proceeded to start ripping my nails off. I immediately stopped her and told her that I wanted to have them soaked...the lady was not pleased! While I was soaking I noticed that all the nails files that go on the drill were just there next to us, used, gross and just on some dirty old rag.... not cool. She was able to get the nails off, but drilled my actual nails almost to paper thin thickness. I will never go there again and I strongly encourage you to go elsewhere! How are these ppl still in business? And the place was packed! I'll be spending my dollars elsewhere thank you very much. read more
